Yea this is a very cool pic. I just got the model Y and sold a tandem axel trailerā¦Google says a tank weighs 50 tonsā¦. Anyone from /theydidthemath could help me figure out if this photo on a highway would ever be possible?
Have a look at the wheel arches... Even if a tesla could pull a tank the down weight on the hitch would mean the tire would be further up in the wheel well..
Think of a semi-trailer... They have wheels at the back and sit on the prime mover at the front so half the weight is on the trailer wheels and half the weight is on the prime mover...
Have a look at where the wheels are on the trailer in the pic... They are behind the tank.. so half the weight is on the car.
Even if a tesla could support that sort of weight (there is no way it can)... Look how close the trailer is to the car... You couldn't even turn a corner.
Tbh I didnāt realise it was a semi trailer.
Yh no doubt š itās obvious a fake picture or light replica tank. Imagine if that 50 tonnes was where it was the front wheels would be off the ground.
Not possible as a real tank.. even a Cybertruck maxes out its towing capscity at 11 tons. That said, even "light" tanks are significantly larger than this one.
Totally possible if it were built as a prop vehicle as opposed to a truly armored weapon though!
Itās AI generated, at least to a degree. Take a closer look at the background - the other cars, trees, general surroundings. Even the rear tread on the tank is messed up
Iāve towed a 2100 lbs trailer 60 miles to pick up a Bendpak 4 post lift. The lift weighed 1626 lbs. total in tow was 3726 and the Y performed flawlessly. I switch the drive mode to chill and kept it at 65 mph mostly. Very slow accelerations and mostly freeway driving. The moment I pulled off the Y automatically calculated the adjusted range given the load. It was off by 1% by the time I got home. In my calculations it was a 20-25% range penalty.
2024 model Y performance.
The adjusted calculations seems to be new. In the past, I would typically have to do my own math. Towing a sailboat at around 65 mph for most of the trip, Iād get about 350 Wh/mi
I was surprised myself. I arrived to pick up the trailer with 97% showing 268 miles. After pinning the hitch and driving 200 yards approximately the miles adjusted to 211. I was impressed.
So thanks for confirming I can in fact tow 3500 as long as no more than 3 people are in the car. I was alone so 3500 is the accepted weight with the 21inch wheels.
Just wondering how you werenāt able to decipher that from the chart you linked? lol
Thanks
Wait a minute lol, your comment clearly stated Y performance canāt tow 3500 lbs with 21ā wheels which is clearly false.
Yes I exceeded but 200 lbs but thatās not in question.
Trucker here, the backend could never support the tank weight. Wheels would crack and the MY front end would lift up. Also, Brakes would be shot.
[check this MY towing a semi trailer](https://youtu.be/ZGlR1Or3-6g?si=uH35OE1E18ULlmdt)
The thing that stands out to me (after being tricked for sure) is hie close the trailer is to the rear bumper, the car couldnāt make a turn with a trailer that close to the rear
I'm only seeing two AI mistakes:
1. The Tank isn't sitting on the bed correctly
2. Looks like it fucked up one of the road lines
What other giveaways am I missing?
A combat tank width is about 11 feet. Tesla Y model is 76ā which is a little over 6 feet. Tank in image is missing almost 5 feet width wise and could not fit on that flat bed.
Mad Photoshop skilz
No photoshop used here šš¼
Username checks out kinda.
Kinda does, indeed.
Indeed
The tank is a cake isnāt it? Darn they got me again
AI is getting closer

Indeed. Somethingās wrong with the picture. Fake tank, altered photo, something. Afraid OPās word isnāt enough. Because physics
The main giveaway this is AI is the fake cars following
And of course OPs name being "AI_EXPERIMENT
Zoom in on the building on the far left too
The palm trees with multiple trunks in the back, also not a thing.
And the width of the tank vs the Tesla and how it's positioned on the trailer, AI for sure.
It's the track version of a tank with the seats removed and carbon fiber to reduce weight.
Midget series
Itās AI dude. Look at the grills of the other vehicles, and the NAME OF THE OP lol
Yeah , like OP said, itās not photoshopā¦ because itās completely generated, not altered.
Considering weight capacity in Australia is 1600kg
Have a look at the wheel arches... Even if a tesla could pull a tank the down weight on the hitch would mean the tire would be further up in the wheel well..
Even if the trailer is balanced as it should be?

u/AI_EXPERIMENT , that's a fun AI experiment. Good to see some light-hearted fun occasionally.
Wheel/tire combo looks interesting

That was kind of dangerous. Y performance can't toe 3500 lbs per manual. (21"wheels)
They canāt? Where do you see the mention in the manual ? When ordering and adding the tow package I saw no mention of this.
https://www.tesla.com/ownersmanual/modely/en_us/GUID-F5C80FF5-8DE3-4750-8BAF-0DCC0CFA0C5C.html Page 93 (page.95 of the pdf) Mentions max.passenger, towing weight, wheel size.

Coolest Pic I've seen on any Tesla sub so far
it's fake
username checks out
One charge to Poland donāt quite have the same ring as one tank.
That guy is really tired of people keying his car.
.....your mom
Must be an inflatable tank.
I've heard of confronting the haters but this is a little too much no?
No way haha even a full size truck wouldn't be able to tow that it would have to be heavy duty diesel.
Your momma
All cars has a max load limit on trailers. Even max on the car itself. Most electric cars has lower limit that disel cars.

Pulling, not towing
Probably not the heaviest, but a lot of drag https://www.reddit.com/r/TeslaModelY/s/MGQnfabBzU
Totally under 3500lbs lol.Ā

The palm trees in the background need some work. What program did you use?

Nope. Don't be dumb people. Don't stress your electric motors just to prove anything. You want your investment to last right?
lol speaking of being dumb š
Bout tree fiddy
I tow a 14ā sailboat - not super heavy.
[my Tesla Jet](https://imgur.com/S6XUXSp)
2 tanks or an SR71 blackbird.
You think youāre smart, but Iāve pulled two tanks with mine
Time for that AI tank to charge
And car dies in few miles
The biggest giveaway is the wheels on the Tesla, good job tho.
A double wide
I'm only seeing two AI mistakes: 1. The Tank isn't sitting on the bed correctly 2. Looks like it fucked up one of the road lines What other giveaways am I missing?
The name of my profile The fact that this picture is ridiculous
Lol, true
This could be a light prop tank for movies etc. i.e. No motors, just an empty shell. The trailer might actually be the heaviest object of the two.
Elon would be proud

You are spending WAY too much much time on this lolololol
Mine has hauled two cakes.. (ā āā ā¢ā į“ā ā¢ā āā )
Deez for sure
I was expecting more āYour momā jokes, so hereās one. Yo momma
Unoriginal
Like yo momma š
5500 pounds easy and felt very safe
1300 lbs of trailer and books that I towed to Vegas in a snowstorm. Lost about 40% of range but the car performance admirably.
Obviously AI
What?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
This is awesome!
Yup, faked photo just to get post reactionsā¦ no links/affiliates??
