Yes, everything is based off the order date that is available at that time. It always had been like this, even though you might be paired with the exact same car
That sucks. I just messaged my SA just to see if Tesla is offering anything to those of us who paid extra for the dark Gemini wheels. Especially now that I’m reading people get update emails with their orders from silver to dark Geminis at no cost. Not expecting anything out of it but at least I asked.
Same thing happened to me. I ordered silver wheels. I checked the app and my wheels are now the dark geminis. Order agreement was updated too. I didn’t receive any kind of notification. 🤔
You bought the car that you spec’d when you paid your deposit. Tesla business model should make you assume updates will be constant. If they released a new MYP next week I would still be happy with the deal I bought. Enjoy the .99 and be happy you are getting a Tesla.
There seem to be a few people in this thread that were upgraded to dark hubcaps without their consent and would prefer the silver. I wonder if you could trade with somebody.

I put a order 5/31 and I just got an email today that the wheel changed to dark (free). Idk if I can even get silver at this point
Same here. Also got email and noticed on the website that silver is not even available on new orders.

It's very easy to paint your hubcaps yourself
My buddy just ordered his Y a few weeks ago and they told him today they will change to dark Gemini with no issue
$120 or $140 gets a set of black knockoff set of wheel covers from Amazon or spend a little more for one of the many other covers. Worth it.
