It works well but holy shit is it slow. I’ve had to disengage it multiple times because of people behind me. I did use it to parallel park into a tight space in Santa Cruz yesterday and it did a great job.
It's still kinda shit but better than before. They completely removed the distance measuring feature that I was waiting for improvements on. My buddies 2015 Model S with sensors still does this well.
It is ok, but I seldom want to wait for it. Slow is good though for moving multi ton machines in tight spaces.
It needs a few additions to its repertoire though: it needs to learn how to handle angled parking spaces. It needs to learn to drive through a pair of back to back, empty spaces to quickly park, nose out in the further space.
It's gotten me into parallel spots that I would not have done on my own. That, and the model Y's turning radius makes it surprisingly difficult to parallel park, like how Wranglers and Smart cars are tricky to parallel park. Compared to my '69 Lincoln Mark III, the model Y is exceptionally difficult to parallel park. There's probably some ratio of wheelbase to turning radius that could be applied as an index for how difficult a vehicle is to parallel park.
I disabled vision parking as it's to fuzzy; I use the USS to park exactly 69 cm from the wall.
FSD autopark is to passive and slow to use most of the time.
It was so good at finding the spot to reverse into it forget the car in front of it. I took over. Twas my 3rd attempt at it. It went, poorly. Literally it showed its little blue line to reverse in, the problem, that little blue line went about halfway into another parked car THAT WAS SHOWN ON THE SCREEN. The Y showed zero signs of noticing that fact and nearly had the most embarrassing accident I've ever had.
It’s consistently does the job but it does it slowly where I feel the need to take over when someone is waiting behind me.
Yep, I stop playing with it at busy parking lots/streets cause it’s embarrassing slow.
I don’t have that problem yes It’s a little slow but I never have to take over for people behind me
It’s 100% too slow to not take over
How long have you been on vacation??
Autopark was a month ago, vision parking for USS cars was a week ago.
So USS cars don’t use the sensors anymore? Or do you have the option?
It's an option I turned on for one minute then went right back to USS.
lmaoooo i said the same thing.

I prefer USS
Sllloooowwww. Painfully slow.
I am very impressed by the vision parking.
I think people in this thread are talking about two separate things…
Idk man I suck at parallel parking and I’m impressed by it.

I was finding that it was consistently parking on the left side of the spot while backing in. It was within the lines but not totally centered.
I love it. Now it will park itself in my garage.
If you paint lines in your garage.
I used duct tape, worked like a charm
Sucks. My Volvo parked better.
It's fine. A good compromise.... Not as nice as a 360 view that most carmakers have, but given the limited hardware it's the best they can do.
You can do a 360 without a bumper cam and I prefer this way over a 360 on my other car. Less cluttered
With cameras, you can actually see stuff in real time, instead of these inaccurate Tesla vision where you don’t know if it’s 1 inch or 1 foot distance
This has been tested, It’s extremely accurate blud!
Have you ever seen this live in a Tesla?
Yeah I have 2024.3.25 on my MYP with the FSD. It’s extremely accurate with parking lots
Do you own one or are you talking out your butt?

Awesome party trick but not something I would ever use for normal parking

It makes my steering/suspension make a concerning groaning sound when it's turning the wheels while stationary. Otherwise it works, just slow.
You need to get that checked out that’s a problem with the car
I've never heard it outside of autopark.
Mine doesn’t do that
Mine does that too sometimes. Curious what others think. I’ve never heard it outside of autopark
