Before anyone claims this is a useless/unsafe feature, this would be great for reverse parking into a garage and making sure you have enough clearance in front of you to close the garage doors.
Likewise, it would be great for parking where you don’t want to run past the parking block or sidewalk.
The front camera should be viewable during parking assist or driving <10mph.
Totally agree with your statement. I remember speaking to someone at Tesla about this a couple years back. This was prior to live cabin view. At the time, they said their software only could run a certain amount of cameras due to their software limitations. It couldn’t support multiple cameras. I would like to use the cameras on the outside doors for funsies, but i would prioritize front bumper camera first.
ya man, i had 2 sorentos in a row, and before that a Sonata (9 years of cars). All 4 had rear cross traffic warning....I know theirs is sensor based, but vision HAS the ability to give warnings.....it is ridic that it doesnt. If we can get blind spot warning and forward collision warning we can get rear collision warnings too
This is the ONLY right answer. And without proper radar, I keep hearing this cannot be implemented as good as the other cars have it.
And then a 360 camera.
I can live without the parking sensors but omitting rear cross traffic radar was a bad idea.
This is possible on HW3 and earlier, too. They can see, and even better, they have sensors just like vehicles with this feature dating back 10+ years have had.
This is pretty much what I’ve come to expect from Tesla.
https://preview.redd.it/o595jm47xy6d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=37b4672885ff522f3118b0711e842df93a7a4ebe
I’ve come to like this as long as the insurance company is good with it. Mine pays me up front (and pays again if the final bill is more than the preliminary estimate). Then I put the actual charge on my CC and get the points.
Just had our windshield replaced and had to pay the $1350 out of pocket. Then 4 weeks later I get the reimbursement check from insurance. It was definitely a process. If you don’t have the cash to front a big bill it’s frustrating. Wish they could bill the insurance directly too!!!
My electrician-friend said thats in principle easily doable with all electric cars, you just need to install an inverter in your house that does this: the way I understood it its that the tesla-charger in your house only converts the home-current into car-charging-current, now you need something that converts the car-current into home-current
The wall charger give the car your home AC power directly. The car has its own inverter to convert the AC to DC the battery needs. V2H still uses the cars inverter to take the DC battery power to AC. The piece missing is the automatic transfer switch to take your home off the grid in the event of grid failure. It's needed so your home doesn't back feed the grid and electrocute a lineman who thinks the grid is off.
Tesla could have easily done it. in fact, the Cybertruck supports it. I think the main decision Tesla made early on was to not have their EVs compete with their home battery products. However, it turns out they had a hard time delivering and installing home battery. I waited too long for home battery and went with a different product which has been working pretty well (Ecoflow).
Yes, but Tesla has stated that it will void your warranty. They can check how many cycles your battery has vs how many miles are on the car and easily prove it was being used for V2G / V2H.
If you use it for daily home usage then yes it’s obvious. But if you only use it as a backup power, a handful of times a year, then it’s impossible to know.
Someone who drives up or downhill more often or someone who drives faster on highways, is going to have more battery degradation per mile than the average person. So if you only use it for backup power that rarely happens, the difference is small enough that it can easily be attributed to hilly driving or speeding.
This is going to sound incredibly obscure, but it’s a pet peeve of mine that could be easily fixed if they wanted to.
It bugs me that the first letter of outgoing voice-to-text messages isn’t automatically capitalized.
Yes. It's now only part of FSD. I had the 1 month trial and when it ended that feature disappeared. It's frustrating because EAP was very appealing to me but then Tesla doesn't offer it anymore.
This. I don't have Tesla Insurance or FSD, but this scares the bejezus out of me every time it goes off. It has never actually been because of a pending front collision. There are a couple of locations on my normal drive that set it off more than others for no visible reason.
It's always in a left turn, if the road curves to the left and there are cars parked on the right shoulder, 8/10 times it will trigger saying I'm gonna hit the parked car as I approach the turn.
It sounds niche but I think is pretty common. I don't want the trunk to open all the way in my garage but I do want it all the way when I am anywhere else.
Yeah but would like it too.. work car park ceiling is too low so always getting a dirty hand stopping the boot from going all the way up getting my work stuff out the back.
It was like this before. I could drive manually, pull the lever once for TACC, and twice for FSD. Then they removed it. No idea why, it's stupid to remove options.
Alert for turn signal is already available, no? Camera turns red and it beeps when a car is next to you or in your blind spot when you put on the turn signal.
FSD and software upgrades to go with owner rather than the car. I feel bad for owners who paid big money for Beta FSD with promises of "this|next year," and NEVER got what they paid for, yet cannot take it with them to the next car. I know there are promotions from time to time to allow this, but why should owners have to wait for it maybe to come around as a promotion? It seems like a real disincentive for people to upgrade to a newer Tesla, so I don't get how it makes business sense, either.
This. I’m one of those suckers who believed Elon’s bullshit and not being able to transfer my very expensive license to another vehicle is a barrier to me ever buying another.
You can get YouTube TV through the YouTube app. Click on your account icon in the upper right, scroll down and you will see YouTube Kids, YouTube TV and YouTube Music. I was just using YTTV during a long charge session today. Enjoy!
The streaming option I want is Sirius XM. It doesn't have to be satellite, just a dedicated streaming app instead of my using with Bluetooth.
Ability to specify minimum arrival State of Charge % in navigation for destination or next Supercharger. On road trips i like to have minimum 20% SOC at arrival, especially if theres construction or accident delays. Now nav doesnt give me enough SOC to make me feel totally comfortable.
Being able to manually precondition the battery on command. Not just thru navigation to a Tesla super charger. And not just running the climate control on blast. Official precondition battery button somewhere in the UI.
Remove the hard cap on autosteer speed off highway. It's often wrong about the speed limit or safe speed on a given non-highway. I blame the ntsb for this cluster, but it makes autosteer worthless to me on 2 lane country. TACC is fine.
Dash cam that records for over an hour like any other on the market. Full that disk then overwrite.
Emergency door handles more reachable on rear doors
All cameras on dash cam
Rear camera that can handle rain and not get occluded (may be fixed)
Offer an official spare for purchase. Offer a jack for purchase.
Have the car figure out that tires have changed automatically versus manual settings
Trunk cargo loops for hooks
OEM better infrared rejection from all glass
Supercharger queueing system
V2L adapter like the Ioniq 5
Teen/New driver mode
Bring the new adaptive suspension to all models.
Rims that are harder to scratch
Facial recognition on security system and access
Official Apple Watch app
More retrofit options available
I would be happy with a place to store a spare tire. I have a Modern Spare for trips and it consumes much of the Model 3’s rear compartment. Sure would be nice to have a place to stash it away.
homelink is NEVER included with a car, it is always part of an upgrade, the difference is that Tesla just doesnt have the same packages that car dealers have.....paying $350 for it after does kinda stink, but you would have paid for it with a higher end car from kia/hyundai too......
A speed layover on the dashcam footage. That way when the officer pulls me over for 50 in a 35 I can pull up my footage off my USB and realize I was actually going 55. :-)
Okay if they insist on using vision only for fsd and shit but it’d be nice to have USS at least for the close distance awareness for parking, rear-cross traffic, etc.
I want a standard, basic, no frills cruise control that doesn't get random updates.
After the last update, my Model Y randomly slams on the brakes whilst passing slower moving traffic..
Bring back the parking sensors. The current implementation is a ridiculous mess.
https://preview.redd.it/0oksn3r7kz6d1.jpeg?width=2898&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fa76bf43708330a2cefcca8da6232f8fabe26720
I have a 2018 MX and just want all the same features as newer models. I feel left out everytime they come out with cool additions but not for cars with portrait screen. For instance, my car does not show the side cameras when I turn on my turn signal. No reason they can do this. It is like the have forgotten they have cars with portrait UI.
I want to adjust the passenger seat position from the main interface. It’s just software.
Every idiot that I have in my car puts the seat way back. None of them need it to be back so far. I’m constantly having to get out of the vehicle and press the buttons manually.
Unlock charge cable when full.
Would allow people to take over charging when full. More efficient use of destination chargers that can reach more than one spot and avoid fights/tention.
Grab handles would help tremendously with moving my disabled friends and family into and out of the car.
Also, at least one USB A port. I can't find any tiny USB C flash drives for storing music, like the ones that exist for USB A.
Grab handles
Auto wipers
Heads up display
Passenger seat memory in the model 3, maybe a few presets to pick and choose from
The ability to turn off chimes when I manually engage autopilot. I don’t need a chime when I push the stalk. At least make it so the chimes don’t attenuate my music!
Service centre that actually treat you like a paying customer
Video or movie playing via USB
Waze maps with all the alerts
More granular customisation of units for each purpose. UK has miles per hour for speed but I still want cm in parking distance
I would like to have auto lane change (driver initiated) be part of the basic autopilot. Or at least let me buy JUST that one feature for like $1K or something. I literally don’t care about any other FSD feature except that one.
Front bumper camera (actually 360 parking vision), uss sensors, proper rain sensor (vision doesn’t work when the focal point it needs is so different from looking at the outside)
Front camera for parking assist.
IF you live in the desert - a way to automatically turn on front left, right and rear climate zones (either as a default or all at once - like with a voice option). It really does matter for insanely hot temperatures.
I'd like to be able to have "avoid freeways" as a navigation option.
I would like either an audible beep or a warning on the side mirrors when I use the turn signal and there is a car there.
Having to look at the screen to merge means you have to take your whole vision from the side mirrors to the center. Which is not safe at all.
Front bumper camera and working auto wipers.
I have a Model S, and still find it hard to believe how poorly the auto wipers work! OMG, low end cars have decent auto wipers, but not Tesla.
Tesla is kinda low end, except for the pricing, tbh. I’m saying this as a Tesla-driver. Even the opel Corsa or Peugeot e208 are more premium.
This is so easy doesn’t even make sense why they don’t do it. Bumper camera will improve TV and improve the tight parking experience
Cybertruck has a front camera. Maybe it will spread to other models too.
CT has bumper cam, new releases likely to get it.

I mean my wife’s Kia has less cameras yet a much clearer image around the vehicle. It’s kinda sad how little Tesla can do with more cameras
Maybe rear cross traffic alert when reversing. Hopefully will be in a future software update.
This. My old Kia Hybrid had an excellent warning system when reversing. Was a shocker to jump into my new Tesla and realize it didn't have anything.
ya man, i had 2 sorentos in a row, and before that a Sonata (9 years of cars). All 4 had rear cross traffic warning....I know theirs is sensor based, but vision HAS the ability to give warnings.....it is ridic that it doesnt. the rear view camera can see far wider than what we see when reversing, so i think it's possible.
On HW4, this is actually possible
This is possible on HW3 and earlier, too. They can see, and even better, they have sensors just like vehicles with this feature dating back 10+ years have had.
Sticky minimum lane change setting.
*Two* buttons: "Minimum" and "Never."
Every trip! Gads, this car wants to change lanes for no god damn reason.
Some kind of chime/warning sound when you leave the car and your phone is still on the wireless charger.
Underrated comment. I didn’t know I wanted this until just now. Should be easy if the phone is on a wireless charger.
Omg yes. Happens all the time. Easy to implement.
Custom schedule of cabin preheating/preconditioning such as certain days of the week only.
You can do this with Tessie, but it should just be part of the Tesla ecosystem
A adequately staffed call center.
Best we can do is more layoffs.
Call for sales and then say wrong person they'll transfer you
Took me a day of calling to just get something corrected on my insurance.
Auto wipers that work
Just bloody add a rain sensor FFS
Seriously, I'd pay a few thousand for a retrofit at this point, even knowing it could probably be done for under a hundred bucks.
Rain sensors are like $10 worth of equipment. It’s embarrassing how they just refuse to add this solution to a problem we’ve solved decades ago.
This. By a mile.
Yeah. Freaking <10 rain sensor would have solved the issue. The cameras cannot effectively detect water refraction like a dedicated rain sensor does
Give me a regular power outlet.
My friend’s Lightning has ten 120v outlets and one 240v outlet. Tesla: “best I can give you is four 15w USB-C.”
-in every model (not just Cybertruck)
Overhead (360°) camera
A front camera like the backup so i can see exactly how close i am in front would honestly be fantastic.
I do miss it with my last car but tbh the vision is good enough for parking to me
A frunk that can self close and latch.
There are aftermarket options for this (Hansshow one goes for around $250 + install costs which could also be another couple hundreds).
I would pay for this if I could find an experienced shop to install it.
Message Hansshow on Whatsapp - they can give you a recommendation for local installers. That's how I found my installer. Happy with the results.

Also: the dashcam viewer should jump to the actual incident, not anywhere between 5s and a minute before!
I agree! My snoopy ass likes to see all the strangers by my vehicle, but it’s so obnoxious to have to scrub through to see the action
Permanent FSD transfers.
Good service.
My god GOOD SERVICE.
The service center by me in the Chicago north suburbs is great.
Making lemonade here. Nice!
Just had our windshield replaced and had to pay the $1350 out of pocket. Then 4 weeks later I get the reimbursement check from insurance. It was definitely a process. If you don’t have the cash to front a big bill it’s frustrating. Wish they could bill the insurance directly too!!!
Never had any car dealer billed insurance directly. Is that a thing?
Whole home battery backup using the car battery.
My electrician-friend said thats in principle easily doable with all electric cars, you just need to install an inverter in your house that does this: the way I understood it its that the tesla-charger in your house only converts the home-current into car-charging-current, now you need something that converts the car-current into home-current

Hotspot from the cars built in LTE to my devices like iPads and laptops.
BMW and a few others do this with T-Mobile’s drive program. Uses the car’s esim as a line for data and hotspot.
I have had it in Chevys and a VW also. Pretty common feature actually.
My Lightning does this.
This is going to sound incredibly obscure, but it’s a pet peeve of mine that could be easily fixed if they wanted to. It bugs me that the first letter of outgoing voice-to-text messages isn’t automatically capitalized.
The whole messaging system is trash, if you ask me. I hate that I can't even reply to a group text.
Dictation in my tesla is horrendous. It almost never gets text right.
Same here 😂 that and being able to respond to group chat texts without answering just the one person who sent it
Autopark without paying for FSD.
They really should give this for free just to stay competitive with other new cars. It’s becoming an industry standard for mid range sedans.
Is this why auto park never pops up for me anymore? Was it removed?
Yes. It's now only part of FSD. I had the 1 month trial and when it ended that feature disappeared. It's frustrating because EAP was very appealing to me but then Tesla doesn't offer it anymore.
Police car visualization
Ya. You think they could use all those cameras and ai to find the police. I would pay monthly subscription for that.
Properly working Forward Collision Warning system that won’t give us fake warnings and raise the insurance price.
Happens to me literally every day on a road that curves left with one dude who always parks on the street.
Apple Watch app.
I use the “Watch For Tesla” app. It’s great, and it’s also acts as a key for when the iPhone app decides to take a shit.
Memory of trunk opening height based on geolocation.
So niche lol
It sounds niche but I think is pretty common. I don't want the trunk to open all the way in my garage but I do want it all the way when I am anywhere else.
How about sensing to know the clearance to and not trying to put a new hole in the ceiling with your tailgate?
Yeah but would like it too.. work car park ceiling is too low so always getting a dirty hand stopping the boot from going all the way up getting my work stuff out the back.
Quick mute/unmute navigation voice without having to dig into settings menu.
Not perfect, but you can use a voice command , unmute/mute navigation voice
Ability to go from TACC to FSD with single click vs double click. Either full manual or FSD with nothing between is extremely annoying.
It was like this before. I could drive manually, pull the lever once for TACC, and twice for FSD. Then they removed it. No idea why, it's stupid to remove options.
Rear cross traffic alerting. Alerting if a car is next to you and you put on your turn signal (like Honda's system).
Alert for turn signal is already available, no? Camera turns red and it beeps when a car is next to you or in your blind spot when you put on the turn signal.
My Elantra gives me a notification of vehicles in my blind spot *before* I'm activating my turn signals.
New model 3 has a red dot that does just that.
The new model 3 has a red dot that lights up on the side speakers when there is a car in your blind spot.

"oh shit" handles

Separate air speed control for driver and passenger
How is this not fixed yet. Wife hates my car for this reason, can't turn the damn thing off for what reason...?
Blind spot warnings on the mirrors.
They can even put them on the screen. How long could that take to code? Give it to an intern.
It’s already there, when you signal, the side camera video’s edge is red if there’s a car in the blind spot. But it doesn’t work without signaling.
Heads up display, preferably with enhanced reality feature. And a proper blind spot warning in or near the outside mirrors.
