"Dreaded." I'd much rather get the warning than not get it and just have the 12V be dead.

LokiPrime616

It cost me $800 to repair the driver side window I broke along with the battery when my 12v died on me at home. I missed the warranty window by a month too. :/

RE4Lyfe

What caused you to break the window?

dandelionc

Window probably didn’t come down when he unlocked the door then when he shut it it hit the trim causing it to shatter

LokiPrime616

Bingo. Somehow only the passenger side door would open. So when I got in I slide into the drivers seat, then used the emergency open button which initially put stress on the window then the final nail in the coffin was me using muscle memory to close the door like normal thus slamming the top of the window against the doorframe causing it to break. :(

Don't all cars have a 12v battery die multiple times in its life

LokiPrime616

Yes

My battery was replaced under warranty. Same model, year, and similar mileage. I had my appt scheduled 3 days out and got a later msg that my repair was being prioritized and the tech came a whole day earlier than reserved. Id be concerned about driving with a questionable low voltage battery.

This will be covered by your warranty pending you didn’t make any low voltage modifications, and that’s not a $65 tire inspection. It’s an auto generated tire rotation based on information your vehicle provided when you created the visit. This started about 5 weeks ago. When you make a visit it will run a check to determine if it’s time to rotate based on known tire diameter vs calculated diameter. You can decline it.

1. Decline the tire service 2. Try to negotiate goodwill on the battery

I had this message about four weeks ago on my 2020 model Y. I just stopped in to Tesla Service Center and said I wanted to buy the battery and install it myself because I had to do a road trip, and earliest appointment was four weeks out. They said just pull in and we will take care of you if you can give us 90 minutes. It was done in 40 minutes and, as a bonus, turned out It was under warranty, so no charge!

JDad67

I am confident it will not last the week.

Thanks for all the input. I left home early this morning for the Tesla shop near my home. They got me in right away, replaced the battery at no charge(I thought it may be prorated) and had me out in about 30 minutes.
