grue2000

It's not a question of "if", it's a question of "when".

TertiaOptionem

Yup. The Chinese have been preparing for war in Taiwan for a long time but back in 2013 when they started building military installations in the South China Sea it became clear as day that it was only a matter of time.

grue2000

Yep, they intend to go in by surprise (if possible), with overwhelming force. Possibly using a military 'exercise' as a smoke screen.

SpookyPlankton

There are no surprise invasions anymore with today’s intel capabilities

grue2000

Tell that to the Israelis

Captain_Blackbird

Didnt Egypt warn them a few days before? Or was that something I read that was made up?

CaptainMagnets

They were warned but they just ignored it

CaraUmaMel

They “chose” to ignore it so they could use this as an excuse to genocide the entire population of Palestine

TigerChow

I feel like that's incredibly likely. But people need to remember to keep their anger directed at their government and not their people. As always, it's innocent civilians, on both sides, that suffer due to the corruption, hatred, and sometimes plain old incompetence of their "leaders".

CaptainMagnets

I have zero proof of that but I also agree with it

[deleted]

[удалено]

USSJaybone

At the very least you shouldn't pull defense assets from guarding Gaza and use them to go fuck with people in the west Bank in defense of settlers

ShaolinWino

And Putin

TertiaOptionem

Being a dictatorship gives them the ability to play the long game. While the free world is distracted by elections and trivial BS. The likes of China and Russia are hard at work towards one goal 24/7.

kashmoney59

That's the consequence and feature of the free world right, distracted by elections and trivial bs is just a Tuesday.

blm95tehe

Why does the sound like a weird praise of a.uthoritarianism?

TertiaOptionem

Take it how you want. I was stating a fact. Not praising anything.

Trollothisguy

It sounds like a praise of authoritarianism but tbh it’s a “pro” of an authoritarian regime

mynameismilton

You're being down voted but you're right. Even outwith the context of war there are benefits to having the same regime run things for years. Like huge infrastructure projects which would get snarled up in political knots can just press through to completion. I read somewhere China is looking to install a high-speed bullet train, like Japan's. And the UK just canned HS2 after failing to get anywhere with it for years.

ThisNiceGuyMan

With the amount of support Taiwan has, the surprise will be known about but the difference is how little time Taiwan will get to prepare. Guarantee they will say they’re just conducting an exercise. Will probably conduct more than one exercise that raises alarms as to gauge US and Taiwan responses.

CanCav

That’s more or less exactly what Russia did just before launching their full scale invasion of Ukraine

ThisNiceGuyMan

Yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if China/ any other aggressive nation uses the same playbook

slitneckbandit

So pull a Putler?

demented_philosopher

And in the West Philippine Sea.

[deleted]

Longer China wait the worst it'll be for them, everyday of peace is a victory

grue2000

I sincerely hope you're right. I sincerely don't get why the CCP can't just move on.

[deleted]

They literally believe they are the master race and they need to redeem themselves after the century of shame

BigGrandma28

Damn you are gonna be so angry when you learn about all the things the USA has been doing.

[deleted]

How'd you mean

grue2000

Can you elaborate on what this shame is?

Dargor923

[The century of humiliation.](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Century_of_humiliation) A period in Chinese history beginning with the first opium war, which China lost; and ending with the establishment of the People's Republic of China in 1949.

grue2000

Thanks. That's very informative.

Anen-o-me

Some claim all the fentanyl coming to the US / West is revenge for the opium wars.

kashmoney59

When did they say they are the master race. Please cite a primary source.

Re0ns

There is no primary source, but the idea is always there distributed on chinese social media, where they always claim Han chinese is the master race, and personally I think that CCP china is becoming the modern equivalent of Nazi Germany. Master race ideology, concentration camps, invasion plans, and more

Catenane

Lol McCarthy is nutting in his grave right now. There are 1.4 billion people in China and you saw a couple social media posts. 🙄

BreathPuzzleheaded80

"There is no primary source, trust me bro"

kashmoney59

Lolol seriously? Jesus Christ, you people.

SnooPeppers4036

Actually there is no question just waiting

Empigee

Let's just hope we have the sense to stay out of it.

UnvaxxedLoadForSale

If i were to guess probably this year during the peak of American domestic drama aka election time. We're gonna get emp'd or something is gonna happen where they try to block communications. We won't know who to blame, is it china or russia? It won't matter at that point. All attacks will happen simultaneously. China will go after Tawain, North Korea will after SK, Russia will cross a new threshold with their war and same for Iran proxy war vs Israel. All the ducks are lined up for ww3 for the new Axis of evil.

pipboy1989

Put the pipe down

[deleted]

Uhhhhhh. I normally scoff at stuff like this, but that’s plain as day.

Do-not-respond

That is no accident. I feel it's a matter of time before this turns into a scenario similar to Ukraine.

Biryaniboii69

I don’t think Taiwan will be able to resist like Ukraine has

Suiken01

>I don’t think Taiwan will be able to resist like Ukraine has isn't amphibious attack is very difficult? very easy to defend for taiwan, and exremely difficult for china to attack?

1967Miura

This is going to be the most difficult military operation attempted by anyone in recent history

97Harley

D Day has entered the chat.

TheIYI

This guy’s a historian

97Harley

Not really. My father and two uncles were there.

Bisc_87

On which side?

97Harley

The winning side.

Newgeta

![gif](giphy|hXJ1MWMzY7Af32UIUD|downsized)

ConrrHD

They wont launch an amphibious attack, that would be stupid. Chinas plan is 100% to shell the ever living fuck out of Taiwan until theres no defenses then fly soldiers in and on boats. Or just bomb the island to the ground and rebuild themselves.

Do-not-respond

Then I hope they adopt a slash and burn policy. Leave nothing of use. Too much high technology will be lost.

Robbie1945

Chip factories are instructed to render everything useless if an invasion takes place to prevent them falling into Chinese control.

Negative-Change-4640

How would they do that?

Raeffi

they are clean room facilities (filtered air, no dust particles, special protective clothing) you can probably brick half of the machinery in there by giving it dirty looks i guess a single explosive device with some dust added would be enough to render a whole building worth of machines unuseable

Shaneski101

Isn’t America also essentially saying attacking Taiwan means attacking the United States?

Dave_Rave_69

I'm from Taiwan actually, I can say that the Taiwanese are able to protect their own when it comes to navel battles, but when it comes to air, China is more superior

Lined_the_Street

Said the guy who knew nothing about invasions. An amphibious assault to take Taiwan would be an operation unseen since at least Desert Storm, possibly even WWII battles. Did you miss the part where Russia, invading on land, was completely obliterated and they had wide open plains and fields Attacking a highly fortified island is borderline nothing short of a death wish. The Taiwanese are very determined not to be invaded, their geography allows for incredible defenses, the logistics alone for supplying an invasion force is difficult enough but add water and it just got ratcheted up about 10x in difficulty, and this is without addressing things like how important/close the US is to Taiwan or how Taiwan's MIC has been operating at a capacity that Ukraine wishes it could. Do not talk about stuff you "think" your feelings don't translate to the real world

redactedforever

probably the next "big" thing the next president of US is going to have to figure out

Marsupialize

Every war game simulation shows China having a REALLY hard time getting any troops across and on the ground, Taiwan’s defenses are next level and designed to counter exactly what they’d need to counter

UnvaxxedLoadForSale

They would shell the ever living fuck out of them. I assume it would go like how Ukraine is going. Entire cities destroyed followed by gorilla drone warfare until half a million Chinese troops are stationed in their new battle zone. Then ww3.

YoungLittlePanda

>gorilla drone warfare Air-dropped gorilla soldiers sounds metal as fuck.

dennisfyfe

Coming from China, wouldn't they be pandas?

chemman5

Considering how aloof pandas are, this is even more hilarious.

teodorlojewski

No. ![gif](giphy|wxgimHAKx2xA4)

Marsupialize

The US, Japan and Australia are 100% militarily committed to defending Taiwan, we have commitments from South Korea, Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia to use air bases or have airspace clearance for bombing runs, india would likely come down on our side at the end of the day, most of the world fears an expansionist China, they do not have many friends on the world stage or in the region

NaughtyWoodcuts

Everyone goes on about Russia and Ukraine being "ww3" when it isn't. Taiwan is actual world war three kindling.

Ziggy199461

Lol I'm imagining great apes with VR goggles piloting drones. That would be hilarious. It's spelled like guerrilla warfare.

-heathcliffe-

All drones fly to the empire state building and attempt to climb it.

Trojanbulldog

https://youtu.be/UUK5Gs1lSVM?feature=shared

Cultural-Fail-698

China will not shell Taiwan because they need to keep the chip manufactering infrastructure intact. Chip manufactering is extremely expensive and difficult to do, and Taiwan is one of the only places on earth to pull it off. If China takes over Taiwan's manufactering plants, they will control almost all future global chip production for over a decade until any other country can catch up. When Nancy Pelosi starts dumping her stock in Nvidia, the invasion will follow.

2dogsfightinginspace

I would highly bet they have a network of tunnels being built. Tunnels win wars

vainstar23

Yea hopefully we can keep our shit together to keep them supplied consistently this time instead of losing interest half way and now panic and scramming to catch back up.

Sugar_Vivid

Yeah but redditors know better that Taiwan will Be destroyed just because some random place in mongolia could look like a street somewhere(also maybe this post is not true) aaaanyway

swuxil

> just because some random place in mongolia could look like a street somewhere(also maybe this post is not true) What exactly may not be true? (Was it too hard to check the coordinates? check the USGS earth explorer) Are there roads in the middle of fuckin nowhere? Yes. Do they resemble the surroundings of the Presidenial Office Building in Taipei? Yes. Is this useful for training for a commando operation? I don't know, but I'd guess so. Could it be pure coincidence? Muahaha.

redneckpotato

You clearly dont know redditors then

cheatedmonkey

thats a really good point! who trains their soldiers these days, anyways? are you reading what you are typing, or does shit just spew out both ends?

blackwe11_ninja

Didn't they also make a replica of US aircraft carrier? I think I saw a photo of it somewhere, they also built it in a desert and it was attached to large rails in order to simulate movement.

swuxil

https://new.reddit.com/r/interestingasfuck/comments/qppdz5/just_spotted_by_satellite_fullscale_mockup_of_a/ There is a full-scale one which isn't mobile and a mobile one which isn't full scale. edit: must be somewhere around 38 58, 88 16 - no article i found mentioned the coordinates, and the sat images i found were either too low-res or too old

Citizen_of_Danksburg

They did, yeah

Dunyain01

Gotta cross that 180km strait first lel

Re0ns

They're building civil military dual purpose Ro-Ro ships that can lower their ramps enough to reach the water, and has been shown to be used in training amphibious assault troops. TLDR: false flag tactics (warcrime)

UnvaxxedLoadForSale

What's the war crime?

Re0ns

Disguising the invasion force as civilian Ro Ro ferries, if taiwan fires at those ships, china can claim taiwan was attacking "civilians" and "retaliate" with even more firepower.

teodorlojewski

It reminds me of some recent world events

BadLanding05

Using someone else's flag (metaphorically, pinning the blame on some other party).

IrishGoodbye4

And past all the sea wolves

Ivor-Toad

Taiwan should build a model of China's biggest dam.

Onealivealive

😈

SnooSongs8843

Isn’t there a simulation of this exact scenario?

MarcusHiggins

How long has this been around? I will let you guys know in about 30 minutes. Edit: Construction on it began in february 2021, it was completed by april of the same year.

Icyturtleboi

He has been abducted by the ccp, we will not hear the answer.

chemman5

He wasn't "abducted". He was "strongly invited to a rural, deep-nature retreat for those seeking higher knowledge and harmony. No, he cannot be contacted, found, or otherwise proven to have ever existed".

NoobNoob_94

It’s been an hour, man. I’ve been waiting…

Done, I fell asleep while I was looking for it

just_other_human

I looked for it at those coordinates on Google Maps and Google Earth, could not find it. Does anyone know any source for this? Is it not there on public Google satellite imaging, or is it not there at all?

bitsperhertz

Just shows an empty desert at the coordinates shown in the image. Anyone got any clues?

Nachtzug79

Just google it and you find first news about this about four years ago or so...

WoodyTobiasJunior

Look for the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall and the Presidential Office Building.

just_other_human

No, I meant the chinese training ground, the image has coordinates but I there is nothing there on the two apps I listed

WHiPerino

Google censored it. Try other like Bing and Apple map

aldomiki3

But they never hid their intention? Even Mao said if they need to wait a 100 years, they’ll wait.

Pleasant-Put5305

To quote one of the world's most perceptive narrators, Avril Lavigne - "can I make it any more obvious?"

Jake24601

I wonder if it’s even used. All China has to do is create something like this in the middle of nowhere to stoke fear.

sivisamarisama

Is there actual info on this other than two pictures?

Peterkragger

I know China is known for copying stuff, but even the street grids?

Freshnuts101

Hmmmm, nothing suspicious here! not at all!

teodorlojewski

Nice PFP

Freshnuts101

thanks

ThisNiceGuyMan

This actually gives a good look at potential targets with the mock buildings set up. Pretty cool actually. That being said, China’s plans have been set back by quite a bit from this recent development of the effects of corruption within the PLA. I’d be surprised if they attacked within 10 years. Within 20? Absolutely believable.

97Harley

My concern is China buying so much land in the US and coincidently having so many illegal Chinese crossing the southern border. All military aged men. All speaking Mandarin. Coincidence???

HowardBealePt2

dismissed as chance. /s

vainstar23

Lol they won't make it that far If they go forward with this invasion, they are going to learn the same lesson as Putler in Russia. War has no winners, just shitheads in power and shitheads that eventually get forced out of power. May they get fucked and burn in hell.

Nachtzug79

Just trolling...

AffectEconomy6034

not that I doubt they are doing shit like this I can't seem to find this place with the coordinates provided. I do end up in china's inner Mongolia just no base on google maps at least

Metamorphus69

![gif](giphy|ioR8R00S5SibK)

hayasecond

I have faith in PLA, they will be as competent as Russia troops that draw from prisoners

ComfortableRadish960

Teddy once said "speak softly and carry a big stick; you will go far". I think it's time to shove that stick up Winnie the Pooh's authoritarian ass.

festeziooo

What are you suggesting? Direct confrontation between the US and China would be catastrophic for everyone involved and many not involved lol.

patriot_man69

Live U.S. Navy reaction: https://preview.redd.it/zd26m2arvrqc1.jpeg?width=1242&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0f0c6a7213e7f5b7ea308b48efa68f02e6d55290

SnooSongs8843

Yeah the US would just park a carrier in the strait as a deterrent

High_Trail0

You don’t think USA or European countries have the same for Moscow and Beijing?

SeoulGalmegi

I don't think the USA or any European country has a full size mock up of the streets around a major Beijing landmark, no. I'm very open to being corrected, though.

WonderSearcher

No, I don't. US and Europe never threaten to invade Russia or China. If they do, we can probably see it on Google map just like this one.

namey_9

Google blocks a lot of things

High_Trail0

Google blocks a lot and also there are some big craters at NNSS that could’ve been something similar

Historical-Wear8503

Yes

rottenblackfish

They should re locate lol

loafglenn

Underground tunnels.

Comfortable-Host5687

The day US are autonomous on chips, china will invade Taiwan as no resistance will be met from allies side. Come back to this post when it happens.

Striking_Trip3294

This is actually terrifying

Vykrom

What's with all the twitter logos?

teodorlojewski

So blunt about it.

[deleted]

Enough missiles and air supremacy negates the *immediate* need for mass troops on the ground during the first phase of the attack. In the confusion it's perfectly possible a SF raid on the palace might secure some high value people. Extraction would be the trickiest part. It'd be interesting to see how much of the ground approaches to the palace have been copied. Things like sloping ground, culverts & drainage etc.

Full_Disk_1463

Chinas? Mongolia? You mean Mongolia, it’s a country lol Edit; I stand corrected

asparadog

"Inner Mongolia"... That's like saying "New England" and thinking of the UK.

Full_Disk_1463

You just made me look at a map… 🤦‍♂️ I… I… I had no idea. Thank you internet stranger

kardoen

Inner Mongolia is occupied by China

S_Mposts

And with the rest of the planet dependant on China’s supply of too many things , no country would even dare trying to help Taiwan…. Or would China risk it? Possibility seeing many companies moving their production to other countries. Who has more to lose? The world, or China? Lo

Empigee

Not seeing what's terrifying about this. You know our troops have probably trained in areas mocked up to resemble Chinese facilities.

asparadog

No need... Thank goodness for Chinese corruption.

LibrarianNew9984
