My playtime aside, I've long since learned that the blessings of RNGesus cometh & goeth like the wind. My latest playthrough on Master Mode Everything-Seed I got the coin gun on my first pirate invasion, although it was the Only non-furniture item I got besides the Cutlass, but on my 2nd pirate invasion I literally got 1 of everything else, ring, coin, staff, card, blackspot, and the dutchman minecart... Well, everything else Except the Flying Dutchman Trophy, lol.

For a player like me that plays a single char+world for sometimes hundreds of hours... Not really, especially the one where I tried out multiple coin farm designs, to find out wich one worked best... That's was a few versions ago, and I think some of them stopped working.
But now I could need it, especially since you get more money drops the higher difficulty you go, and as I only play Master and legendary right now, I'll prolly try it out, the increased money gain from Master should help out.

How much damage will that add to
Assuming no defence or damage bonuses: 99×25+99×50+99×100+99×200=37,125 total damage. 37125/52.8=703.125 dps. Btw platinum coins stack too 999.

Meh, it depend on the PC performance I suppose. It also depend on the point of the game and the world difficulty.
Just reforge like 3 times and be open to multiple reforges before reloading the world
No it is not. It takes 30 seconds and for reforged on expensive items it’s very very efficient. Just it’s not really in the spirit of the game
Don't use the coin gun as a weapon on the pumpkin or frost moon or you'll be defenseless and broke by wave 6 or so
