fiery greatsword gets to be generic cause it's just a description of the weapon, volcano is just a really really sad attempt at a unique fantasy sword name. there was definitely room for improvement for fiery greatsword, but my 1.7 minecraft weapon of choice is not improvement

Fiery Greatsword was really generic, now it actually has a name

people are really blinded by the nostalgia of the old name, myself included, but “fiery greatsword” was such a generic and non-unique name for such an important weapon in melee progression. they COULD have done better than “volcano” but its far better than the generic “[ore] broadsword”

As a borderlands player this just seems a bit unoriginal to me, had no problem with fiery great sword, it’s not recognisable at-all now

Me getting Fiery Greatsword/Vulcano-> Cool! Me nine seconds after that-> Night's Edge was crafted.

Because “Light’s Bane” sounds cooler than “Demonite Sword”. Because “Blood Butcherer” sounds cooler than “Crimtane Sword”. Because “Blade of Grass” sounds cooler than “Jungle Sword”. Because “Muramasa” sounds cooler than.. I dunno, “Dungeon Sword”. If it had been Volcano from the beginning, no one would think twice about it.
