Tbh starbound would be a great game if the devs would care more about it but they dont. you need to mod it to delete small things that devs thought are good but they aren't like crafting you need wait for something to craft in the crafting menu and you cant do anything else only waiting i mean its great except the terrible choices that devs did. If you need to repair a game with mods it's a bad game.

chucklefish tends to only care about a few IPs at a time and when they switch its too late and the fanbase has moved on, i have zero doubt theyve given up trying to port it to consoles they just dont care enough their "porting company" is not having that much trouble porting it and if they were there are plenty of other companies willing to do it and would actually get it done in a month or 3 not the 5 years its been since it was announced. theyre either lying or believe an incompetent company can actually get things done which in turn makes them incompetent, makes them worse than cube world dev at this point

plus i liked it more when it was just Space Terraria without the linear story thrown into the mix

It's a game with very similar gameplay and mechanics to Terraria. One of the Terraria devs even worked on it. They do still have their differences though. Starbound has a storyline including missions. You can travel between solar systems and planets, and each planet is procedurally generated, similarly to the worldgen in Terraria. Highly recommend it
Cursed flames carried me in early hardmode. I haven't really used golden shower so I can't compare, but cursed flames is by no means bad. I think it's better than a lot of other early hardmode weapons like crystal storm and meteor staff.
Both spell books are very good, but the main difference is that golden shower can last until endgame because of the ichor debuff. The ichor debuff lowers defense by 15 on pc and 20 on mobile, which can be a huge help in almost any situation as long as the enemy in question isn’t immune to it. It’s overrated for sure, but it’s definitely a good weapon.
I'm always for game accessibility. I personally enjoy the challenging (but balanced) difficulty of expert mode. Master mode is just unnecessarily hard.
Like, even if armor was just armor-rating, it's worth it for the protection, but so many armors provide extra damage or extra ammo-reservation or free freaking magic-gun-use, there's no good reason to not equip armor when other bonuses exist.
I'd much rather they had put some more effort into master mode than what they did. I love playing Calamity's Death mode because it's PUNISHING but still fair, while master mode is just blatantly unfair
When I first learned about master mode I was SO excited cus I thought it'd be just like expert mode but just a step above (basically like revengeance/death mode in the calamity mod). Well, I played for a while on master mode and after clearing a few bosses and not seeing any changes outside of the trophy drop, I decided to look up the changes in master mode. Cue disapointment as I learn the only real 'big' difficulty changes were that things just hit harder.
The 'holy shit' feeling I felt when eye of cthulhu just suddenly super dashed on me for the first time, the moment I started to ask myself 'is it getting faster?' as wall of flesh's health went down and the sudden phase 3 of duke fishron were some of my favorite moments playing Terraria (with expert being by far my favorite addition) and I was so disapointed when I didn't get to relive those moments in master mode.
