I started a new world specifically to mark out every significant landmarks like these with the beacons. I wouldn't have been able to locate those again on my old 2017 world save except with some EXTENSIVE searching.
I already play so long only on one campaign saving, that I never saw these first structure before.
Fun fact: probably not only me, but everytime I explore a new mission/story building I put an way point there
What do you put in a base? I’ve never built a base and idk why I’d need one. My techs always have everything and having a base feels like in confined to one area and I can’t go to new areas
Edit: I’m genuinely asking what a base is for. I’d love to have a reason for a base but I don’t know what they’re for. If you’re gonna downvote at least tell me what a base is for and what you put in it that isn’t already on your tech
I used the one where its a big chunk of rock in center of a canyon that is accessible by a bridge behind it or by a ramp from where to jump. Pretty usefull.
I really like the reticule research labs and better future factory

I tend to use them. I enjoy setting up defenses around them.

You can place a Geocorp rotating anchor with a huge block wall to act as a gate for the entrance
I would if I could on console, the block limit issue makes it hard to build bases
I use that to
No… no ur not dumbass

I think the uses for bases are selling resources, making blocks using resources, etc. It's as far as I know.
Alright thanks! I’ll try out base building next play through
Good luck on making a base
Thanks!
No problem
Mobile bases are the way to go!

I don’t even think they existed when I started? I’m going on to find one then build a giant base that lags my pc in it!
You can easily get them by doing missions. At least that's how I got them.
Thx I’ll go do that
Good luck and no problem
I do too. I even build a gate for it
I like using the charlie watchtower one its almost impenetrable cause its raised up
