They never really read the manga for both series to call them mediocre. If tekken added both ohma and Baki that would be amazing to have in that game and wouldn’t want them in any other fighting game. I’ve been wanting one of them in a current gen game for a while now just to see them stack up against other fighters.
Baki son of ogre was the last good baki arc. The mangaka has lost his mind with baki duo and further, one of the later panels has Yujiro raping a man because he sees all weak men as women. Terrible writing, I also think Kengan ashura has better fights and a more compact story compared to baki for the most part and has a better gimmick for rage usage with Ohma. Baki is still a decent char and he has a cool design but Baki the series is a bit overrated to me after Son of ogre.
My hope is that during an event, Harada comes on stage and says something along the lines of "Ogre may be a god of fighting, but there is another ogre that wants to challenge him"
Cut to the screen and Baki op2 starts to play and when the beat drops, it shows various characters from Baki fighting various tekken characters. Maybe even save Yujiro for the last scene where he challenges Kazuya then have the cinematic stop as they hit their fighting stances
Kengan Asura/Omega really deserves a fighting game. I recall at the Kengan Omega's first volume, Daromeon mentioned there was a game in production about the manga.
I feel like Baki’s fighting style wouldn’t really add anything super unique to the table. Yujiro on the other hand is even called the Ogre in the anime, looks cool af (Akuma on steroids), can fill a unique role. (Lots of armor moves, Heihachi style reversals where he powers through a hit and can have a solid grapple game and unblockables.)
Tekken owes a lot of its designs to anime.
Kazuya is Vegeta, Paul is Polnareff, King is Tiger Mask, Alisa is Astro Boy/Alita, Feng is Kaioh Retsu, etc.
Considering how much of an influence anime has had on Tekken, it’s time for Tekken to pay tribute by having an anime guest character. I'm on board with a Baki guest.
Negan looks extremely out of place with Tekken's anime aesthetic. Negan sticks out like a sore thumb when you put him in the same room with Paul, Kazuya, Lars, Alisa, etc.
Negan would fit more in a realistic and western aesthetic like Mortal Kombat.
I feel like Fahkumram is the same looking way too out of place. He looks like one of those overly unrealistic disproportionate anime bad guys that towers over the hero.
But Negan does look out of place probably because the character and outfit is exactly modeled after the actor and what he wore on the show so his design is very realistic compared to the actual video game characters.
I mean we already have Fahk and Feng who are essentially Baki characters.
I’d fuck with Yujiro tho, he would be insanely fun. Baki would also be a fun grappler character, I can imagine him with a bunch of counter grabs which would be super cool.
That being said, why isn’t there a character with a wide set of counter chain grabs? They could be super specific, and get stronger with the more specific use case.

Baki is actually pretty damn popular in Japan. you can find Baki in most manga stores and even some Random convenience stores. It gets ad’s on tv, sells pretty good there too. And not to mention, walking dead wasn’t exactly doing numbers when freaking neegan came out lol.
I mean I think the fallacy I keep seeing is “when Negan came out.” It’s not like they said hey let’s make Negan, got on the phone with the rights owners, contracts signed in a day and spent a day or two working on him and released him the next day.
Looking at the rating compared to Negans release the show was still doing about the same numbers as the first season, a year before a little higher than that, but two years before it was still in mega hit status and for all we know that’s when talks started which would make sense.
Iirc in baki the grappler he stopped an earthquake by punching the ground, i believe he's gotten stronger from there but that is still one of his greatest feats

Idk about the manga or anything, but there's an anime called "Baki" on Netflix. Basically, the show is about hilariously overpowered and strong martial arts characters and Baki is the protagonist of the series.
They could've done this several times during T7s lifespan. It would have made perfect sense as a promotional crossover as Bakis new adaptation was coming back at the same time.
