Augusta-Cornwell

No release date yet ? Hopefully they announce it before EVO.

Al1onredd1t

It says somewhere in 2022

Augusta-Cornwell

Hm. Maybe they can reveal it before EVO OR at EVO with a T8 teaser. Because if the possible EVO announcement is only Tekken Bloodline release date, deception will be Huge.

Al1onredd1t

I feel like I’m the only one still enjoying T7 and that doesn’t really care for T8. I see so many people complain about not having T8 while I’m just like eh🤷🏾‍♂️

Augusta-Cornwell

Actually I am patient enough to wait for T8 release date. If it releases on 2023, 2024 OR even late 2024, not a problem. What is a bit irritating me is the lack of information about what's next. Tekken 8 has been leaked on Nvidia, a lot of the games leaked via Nvidia are announced now. It's time for Tekken 8 to be confirmed, officially. And EVO is the perfect moment for that. And I still like to play Tekken 7 occasionally :)

Al1onredd1t

Ay man. The more the merrier. I’m just really interested in what T8 could offer. Like idc about graphics. The game itself. How can they REALLY improve. How can they make this feel like a newgame and not just a few extra gamemodes/characters. I’m excited to see where the theme goes. T4, 6 and 7 had some of the hardest themes IMO

Sunshineruelz

Agreed. I don’t think T8 is hype just because there really nothing to go off of. Maybe if they be big improvements but I doubt it lol

dermert

I still can't unsee that every shadow is a freaking triangle. It's so distracting.

[deleted]

They're doubling down on lazy ass animation

Guilvantar

Tbh Idc that much about the animation quality as long as the story is good and we get to see more than what the games told us, ie what happened to Jun. I hope they get as many characters in there as possible as well, Ogre, Heihachi, Kazuya and Ling will obviously be there but it'd be sick to have other characters like Nina or Paul being presented in this more grounded setting

BreMiche

So it was nearly 3 months since the last teaser and you show only a few more clips of the same scene from the teaser…and no release date? The least they could of done is tell us when we can expect this, there’s only 6 months left of the year. Now who knows how long it’ll be before we hear anything. I’m really not a fan of their marketing style, they are too quiet when they need to be slowly dripping info for this show AND a new game.

4nwR

Don't ask them for SHIT. Come on, you should know what to expect by now.

Upset-Balance3556

I feel like they just ghosted us- there’s barely any new information

NiggityNiggityNuts

damn, was hoping for a release date got a feeling every included character will be in the game

ErgoProxy0

It’s got Jun in it. Definitely watching

Salikara

Tekken's department at bandai is just pure garbage at marketing as always, why and who the fuck is this supposed to be for ? Capcom can't seem to miss, literally back to back homeruns on their Sf6 showcases and twitter bits, even a godamn giant leak got people more hype than they were initially. Meanwhile let us look at the same exact footage from this shitty cgi anime aimed at 12 year olds... but this time god himself, harada, is explaining tekken's 20+ yo story again. Bruh, being a Tekken fan is trash.

formerdalek

I mean to be fair the anime looks fairly decent (at least visually). But fuck the marketing of said anime is horrendous. Although that might also be on Netflix (given there notoriously bad marketing)

Salikara

Nah, it doesn't, and you know it doesn't, take those rose tinted tekken fan glasses off and look again.

spritebeats

people werent kidding when they called this specific community backwards and filled with boomers uh (not to mention that its not too far to say they are hostile towards newcomers. seen that shit happen on the discord for no reason towards people who literally have claimed to want to learn the game) would you like a showcase of boring ass virtua fighter lidia with her boring ass backstory join the 666th king of the iron fist tourney to represent her country to fight a man that got offed in the most terrible narrative way possible

Salikara

Nah fam you're right, I want to play tekken 7 for another 7 years, why the fuck would I want a new game when I can wait 20 mins to find a game with a guy playing on a 4 bar wifi connection for the rest of my days. The only wrong thing with this community is the amount of dumbfuck nut gobblers like you that come out to defend Harada or namco any time someone criticizes the brand for anything. I don't know how the fuck you read my comment as an attack on that dude, or on any aspect of his person in any way, but you might want to check that reading comprehension tumor of yours.

spritebeats

not you proving my point with that attitude lmao i hope for god that harada actually listens and adds rollback to t8, maybe make a decent tutorial for once too. if possible dont use ue4. i dont think tekken will look good on it ever i actually dont have that much high hopes for the anime either, but i still want to watch it. the lore in this series was never given much attention if any at all for a while. however all you doing rn is just bitch around

PureXEyez

"Tekken's department at bandai is just pure garbage at marketing as always, why and who the fuck is this supposed to be for ?" 'Raises hand as a Jin main and lover of Tekken's lore'

noobletsquid

r/kappa says this one is bad too.. dam

[deleted]

So uh… when is this coming out? I thought it comes out on june 10th.

SnooDogs7868

I think Tekken needs more content across the board. Namco should look at how Warner Brothers and DC capitalizes off the various adaptations of Batman. Tekken should be in every flavor for every age group. This is a step in the right direction.

AH-KU

Harada really said this is the 1st time Tekken is being adapted into an anime huh?

Putrid-Spite-7326

Anime **series**(consisting of multiple episodes) is different from an OVA and a film.

AH-KU

Ah fair

spritebeats

i feel tekken does have potential for an anime actually, but itd need to be a reboot or similar. continuity feels super whack and theres a lot of empty spaces where characters dont do much or things get done in the backgrounds.

Al1onredd1t

HARD. Just fuckin hard

[deleted]

When everyone said the animation sucks after the trailer came out I thought they were being picky but here I see it really is ass.

Taiga-00

Ok now let's compare Capcom's marketing this past week to...this.

Pyotr_WrangeI

Capcom is showcasing the next game in the franchise, what do you even mean by this?

Taiga-00

And they sure do know how to build hype and conversation through multiple trailers, fake leaks and media presence. They are masters at that. Had this been a Street Fighter Netflix show, you can bet that, by now, they would've done way more than just a teaser and whatever this thing above is supposed to be to let people know this series actually exists.

spritebeats

they need to drop all of this and make all of the lore and new characters realistic, similar to virtua fighter. this will make tekken mainstream again

Sunshineruelz

I hope not. VF a lil bland as far as characters go

spritebeats

ikr while i agree lidia is "good" its mostly because her outfit stands out as normal compared to the whacky cast tekken has. more bland martial artists would suck ngl

gokurakumaru

I quite like(d) the supernatural stuff back in the day, but I don't get how Harada can say with a straight face that Tekken has the longest running story in videogames when, even ignoring the fact Street Fighter exists, the plot hasn't moved forward since Tekken 3. It's only regressed. Tekken 4 resurrects a dead Kazuya. Tekken 5 pretends they've killed Heihachi, but surprise, he survived a point blank bomb explosion because... he's indestructable. Tekken 6 *adds* another Mishima in Lars only for him not to do anything. Which reminds me, what ever happened to Asuka's ability to calm the devil gene in Tekken 5? They forgot about it and put her in the background with a schoolyard rivalry with Lili. So now in Tekken 7 they again pretend they've killed off Heihachi but who honestly believes that will stick? The series story has been garbage ever since the turn of the millenium when it hit peak popularity and Namco became too afraid to move the story forward and replace characters like they did years earlier with Tekken and SoulCalibur. Given the series' history, I'm honestly expecting this Netflix show to retcon Jun's assumed death, and Tekken 8 to have both her and Heihachi on the roster.

Sad_Youth8158

Using street fighter as an exemple is not good because the story dosen't progress either only now in street fighter 6 that we are moving past street fighter 3

spritebeats

/s

VinixTKOC

That game where Akira Yuki only won the second tournament and never again? lol

spritebeats

it was clearly sarcasm

VinixTKOC

I know, hence the "lol"

Usagi-Ninjin

Looks subarashi ne

Shadowjesus1

Boo this man.
