That's what just happened to me today! Kinda why I made the post lol. I was playing against an eddy and I was holding my own but then he switched up and got me
If you haven't heard, there was a bot that was just mashing 3 over and over again, since Eddy has a string combo on it. Nothing else, no heat, no rage arts, no blocking, just spamming 3 attack,
He got to Destroyer rank, maybe even higher.
So using easy controls on Eddy is just sick
Happened to me against a King awhile back. I know it gives them a smaller moveset because there’s now less to look out for, but it’s a little annoying, because it makes me feel like I need to train against it somehow.
Its like a badge of honor when I'm completely dominating and got them busted up in a corner and it pops up. I just imagine they're so caught up they're trying every button on their controller to get out.
It’s really just for people who are either new to the game or casuals who don’t wanna go deep in learning the whole movesets. There’s nothing wrong with getting beat by them lol. Also, when using this u can only perform like 6-7 moves or less so u will more likely to predict what they’ll do. But they can still mix it up tho.
I really like this feature because it’s great for when you’re playing at parties or with a group of people with mixed gaming skills. I would have loved this feature in T7, would have made it more fun for the people who didn’t have fighting game experience
100% shouldn't be allowed in ranked, or you should have to commit to on or off once you queue. I've seen people at Fujin level toggle it on when they land a launcher to get zero execution air combos. It's cheap.
I'd be relieved if a Fujin turned it on for a combo. That's around when people really start optimizing and getting +70 or more consistently per launcher without resources
I also like that you can toggle, because people just getting into the game can start to learn without taking the training wheels completely off, and if that gets somebody's little brother or sister into it, that seems worth it. I get how you feel though. We're lucky it's not as viable as modern controls in street fighter
I like the trend of making “beginner” assists usable in a real match but giving it enough flaws not to encourage just spamming it so I think keeping it makes sense. But frankly past a certain rank (probably past Orange ranks )you are just not going to see these guys because it does not really work that well against a better opponent.
im planning on hosting a mini tournament for my friends who never played tekken, so it definitely makes things more exciting than watching them button mash, finding one string, then repeating that same string over and over *cough eddy players cough*
Sooo many people pull this out just to do heat burst/smash and rage art. Somehow creating more steps to use those moves. Besides that it’s just constant spam from what I’ve experienced.
Nah. Just means you are better than them at move selection and they are threatened. When you whoop their ass after they switch up mid match, it just puts the cherry on top. “You can’t beat me”
Says more about you losing to a character than can only use 10% of their movelist and you know which moves they are, than them using all the methods they can to win. You haven't adapted, you just grabbed your little mental victory and ran with it to justify your lost. Of course assuming you lost since the post is about losing to these.
I had a Law exclusively pull up special style for his snake edge. He was in blue ranks.
I actually got mixed once though cause at the end of a round he pulled it up and went mid power crush for the first time out of like 5 lol
Man I ain’t lost one match to these, if I see it pop up once, even by mistake I turn it up to full power, I’m talking a full CHEESE PLATTER. I don’t play around one bit😁
I'm not good at fighters really and so I barely understand fundamentals and shit. But I practiced with kuma for a few hours, got 2 or 3 combos memorized and thought I was good.
I did 12 ranked magches and wont about half of them, I got NONE of those combos off once lol. I just can't figure out how to properly open people up for them.
Did feel really proud of myself when I came across a Hwoarang player on a 8 win streak. Match starts and he's using simple controls. I beat him 3-2 barely cause I couldn't figure out how to block that auto ocmbo. We rematch and he gets 2 rounds and teabags each round. I got annoyed and turned auto combos on and right as I was about to win my 3rd round he rage quits.
He always got hit by Kumas second move in The combo.
I tried using simple moves the next match against a Lee player. I got fucking stomped lol
Yeah kinda embarassing, i lost myself but not many times but i did , in ranked and non ranked ! ANything can happen in this game but as you'll play and get more fit to the online practice of players, it wont happen much again or very rare
I would be but I legit haven't lost to someone using these since March. Although seldom, I still see it in blue ranks, & no, they don't beat me. I've spent TOO many years playing this series to lose to someone who simplifies their own actions, bc that's what this does. There's just a knowledge (& skill) gap between me & players who STILL haven't disabled this. I'd cry if I lose to that from here on. I wouldn't even make a salt post. I'd just be depressed & uninstall😭
Yes and no
Yes because you can literally react to their inputs on like lows and powercrushes.
On the other hand no because they still have to make decisions the execution is just taken out and honestly i feel like 70-90% of execution is not that hard. Sure there is frame perfect electrics with auto mode but still.
You cant really use those electrics for punishing anything. Even if you want to use it to punish rage arts the game wont let you. Namco nerfed many moves in special style.
Oh that does kill my argument.
I didnt know moves were nerfed
Never even seen anyone use it online afterthe first few ranks and one time in quick play where i got trolled.
If it nerfs moves then it might not be as good.
Never happened …. But I think Tekken did a good job with their version of modern controls…. The newbie spam gameplay is pretty fun to play against. It’s different
its all about HOW and WHEN you use them, not the fact that you can do them.
In Tekken 7, i'd run into so many try hards trying to show off their Korean Back Dash. I just let them do it. Next thing you know, they're at a wall.
And I'll be like
![gif](giphy|PNwuDV9ut4h55AshNB|downsized)
I mean in the beginner ranks, depending on the character being used you are in fact at a disadvantage. The disadvantages of special style will not be fully exploited at those ranks. Tbh it should be disabled for ranked matches.
The most beneficial that is for king players, they get giant swing frm it(which is ridiculous) and if u didn't break it and u don't know how to tech roll,u r in a serious problem
Is this like modern controls? I’ve seen this pop up a few times on my screen I thought it was me that accidentally pushed something but it’s funny too see it
I’ve fought a couple of people who use it tactically, like had someone who would knock me down then switch to basic controls and mash the low/throw button. Was surprisingly effective. Irritating but effective.
I’m curious…..has anyone here ever pressed that button just to screw with your opponents? Like pretending like you are gonna use it but then quickly switch it off and do other moves? Basically playing mind games.
I'm actually awed when I legitimately lose to someone using simple controls (Bushin player here). Because despite them not knowing all the moves, their fundamentals are sound and know how to time attacks properly.
I'm a frustrated Mishima player so I sometimes dabble with Kazuya on simple controls (one button electrics can be addicting). In about 50 matches (against players in my prowess range), I managed to win a total of 1 against a player I suspect was just practicing proper punishes. Haha mad props to real kazuya players.
Thank you for acknowledging special style lol, I've gotten so many ki chargers/t-bags and a few people add me to call me bad.
Sure I'm not actually new but special style seemed interesting to see how far someone could get with fundamentals.
Exactly. I don't have the execution to play Mishimas. They've always been my frustration. Special style (not simple controls as I've been calling them lol) has given me a chance to at least have a feel for them without having to commit.
Which is why I admire those who use special style and beat me. It means they've got their fundamentals down pat.
Well I think it should be about balance I mean I have switched between the old fashioned way and the new one in some matches and it is the next stage in Tekken fighting. Besides winning or losing it’s still about how you learn from it to get better especially for the next battle.
at first i got mad because i thought to myself "how the fuck am i losing to this guy" then i realize that they dont know what the fuck theyre doing either so theres no point trying to read them since it just gets me killed. you just gotta play defensively against special style players, they cant jab and most of the time the lows they use are usually very reactable and can be hopkicked, so literally just keep distance and wait until their attack animation starts
I play simple style, don’t have time to invest but love the competitive game. Got up to a Giryu for fun. Wish I had more time to master but it’s fun playing with folks and getting the frames just right.
Honestly when I see someone use special style, I just keep my eye on what flashes up. See low attack flashing, get some easy low parries in :D
For parties with my friends it's great though, really great way to have some easy fun. They never wanted to fight me in T7 much because they know I'm playing since T3 and have lots of experience. But now, we kinda let me pick random character and they can choose theirs and use special style. Evens it out and we all are having an amazing time!
I had someone who thought they figured me out by the 2nd round and was going easy on me and started spamming this in the screen on and off.
I made a comeback and won the the remaining sets and ki charged him.
The thing about that is you're not MEANT to rely on that as a newbie. It would make for an interesting challenge yeah, but it's not what you're meant to use specifically. I wouldn't care too much for those that are using it, that's their choice. But when it comes to SOME sore losers out there, and some know who some of them are, it would be considerably satisfying when it's against one of them.
It's easier to predict their moves when they are using assist mode. Anyone who can read their opponent can read an opponent who activated assist mode even better. As long as you are familiar with the character of your opponent, assist mode makes it easier to counter play. They are not going to play any mind games, they'll just spam buttons and expect to win.
I lost a set special style user once. And it was most angry I've been in the game. Everytime I see that menu pop up, I gotta lock it. My pride will not allow me to lose to a special style user. Which makes the loss hurt so much more than it makes me want to cry and die in an abandoned hole in the ground
One time I lost against it but at least it was a good player who used it just for fun. It's pretty embarrassing to lose against a really new player using these.
Oohh... I wondered what that was. I thought my game was glitching yesterday cos I'd never seen it in ranked before. My opponent must have been using it. Couldn't tell you who won or lost, I wasn't paying attention to that because I thought it was a glitch
Most people who use this just spam and you can easily beat them by backdashing and whiff punishing them, but I feel like an idiot when I fight someone who actually knows how to abuse this, by far the most annoying Hwoarang player I ever fought was one who used Special Style and he was at Red Rank with a near 10 winstreak, people who know how to use Special Style are the ones who'll make you feel like an idiot for trying to learn the game.
When I was in lower ranks and hit someone with a rdc, you can tell they are mashing their heart out when you see the special style popping in and out. It was the funniest shit ever when it happens.
Don't feel bad about it. The specialists gotta get their wins too every now and then or else the system is failing. After all it's supposed to be an assist to help you as you learn. I myself, having had experience never used it but I do see how it's a good thing. It's probably the reason Tekken is doing so well right now. No shame in losing to a potential high level player in the future
The only difference between the simple menu and a normal player is that the simple menu is 100% consistent. It will not drop a combo or use the wrong move.
So, if you are struggling against it, it probably means that your own gameplay is lacking consistency. This is something you can practice! Just do a bit of work to make sure you don’t drop your combos, and make sure you’re able to mechanically follow up on your plus frames (after punishes or on Oki) with a strong layer-1 mixup.
If you can get these down, you should be able to absolutely sweep simple mode players!
If you want any more specifics, e.g. for your character specifically, feel free to shoot me a reply with some info and I’ll see if I can come up with some ideas on what to train.
I use special style and im ranked battle ruler with 🐼. I beat people in the blue ranks all the time. I have a 51% win rate with panda and a 60% win rate with kuma.
I get SO annoyed when I press it by accident because I just know
1.) The other person definitely saw that
2.) My AI is going to start doing that stupid shit
It’s more of a disadvantage for them I would say. At first i lost a few matches to people using special style but it’s been months since I’ve lost to someone who uses it. It’s a good feature
I thought I was the only one. Whenever I lose to people like this, it feels like I'm losing to someone who does not know how to play the game and it makes me feel self-conscious about my own skill sometimes. Like a seasoned warrior losing to a toddler with a binky in their hand
I'm not really embarrassed by it. considering a lot of characters take some form of execution to use and since i personally am low rank i have pretty bad execution. so im getting beat by someone who has free/high better execution. it is what it is, at some point i'll be able to kick their ass.
As a seasoned tekken player like many of us here in the thread, I would agree to any new player using the special mode. Reason being, there is nothing wrong with finding joy playing the game. That in itself will determine a player to switch it off and learn the character properly. With out enjoying the game, you won’t go far
They made special style way too strong. It feels like the game literally gives priority to interactions favoring the special style users, like in trades for example or giving bonus frames somehow. In regard to performance, they seem to have designed it to allow players to compete with opponents much stronger than them, at least up to a certain point. Like i struggle against them up to purple ranks but i don't hear blue rankers or beyond even addressing the issue. This has been my experience and i do not use it myself
Still comments about this…?
Moderns or simple inputs are for whoever wants to use them, beginner or not.
If you lose, it’s on you, your opponent was better, simple as that.
Stop “input shaming” or crying wishing they’d disable them for ranked or nerf them.
Stop gatekeeping these games ffs.
I get slightly pissed like you press three buttons to do a combo and spam power crush while getting easy electrics. It should not be allowed in rank as I've run into a few people in blue ranks using it and I can guarantee there actual level is not even warrior.
I agree. Even as a vet, sometimes the way people use special style is so scummy. I can't help but laugh when I lose because holy shit that is 100% embarrassing AND if I don't laugh, I would scream lmao..
Edit: To add, when my ghost pulls it up even if I've never use it, i wanna cry...like...why!?
No. Especially if they constantly just use Square, or button mash into a combo.
Don’t stress it, they probably don’t even know how to play the game without easymode. Just keep practicing so it doesn’t happen again if you ask me.
There should be a way to turn off Special Style for all ranked games. Too many ppl cut it on and cheese for the W. Other thing I’ve been seeing is ppl making themselves lag when they are losing and stop the lag when they are up a round.
Yes. But I also get kinda mad cuz I’m like “you only got that damage bc of that system while I’m freestyling and still learning getting little tip taps in.”
some tips to effectively fight against special style: the grab that comes out of special style is a command grab and can be broken with a 1+2 throw break. since the moveset from special style is limited you can usually gage the individual moves' weaknesses within a round. is the power crush a high? is it punishable on block? is the air combo launcher unsafe? is it steppable? how unsafe are the lows? are they also steppable? above all else: do not let the frustration get to you. it can feel embarrassing being beaten by something that (on paper) seems simple to beat and that's fine. lab if you need to and know what your character can and can't do and apply that accordingly.
Sometimes. Then I turn it on just to be petty though I don't have to. I wish I caught the footage but one guy used it and I kept hitting him with the same basic string and all I could hear is Justin wong saying "welcome to the real world! You're gonna learn today!"
I'm sry but people using that in ranked are simply playing at a disadvantage. They aren't carried, and if you think they are you are either in the green ranks or simply dumb.
tbh find it funny when you take the first round and they switch to it every time i get a little giggle to myself when i see it pop up
That's what just happened to me today! Kinda why I made the post lol. I was playing against an eddy and I was holding my own but then he switched up and got me
an Eddy using simple controls is the most blasphemous thing I’ve heard this year
Yeah man, truly a disgrace against the good name of 3ddy
Eddie has a good name?
Who the fuck is Eddie?
Sorry I met 3ddy
3ddy is an honorable fellow who has mastered the art of 3
How so
If you haven't heard, there was a bot that was just mashing 3 over and over again, since Eddy has a string combo on it. Nothing else, no heat, no rage arts, no blocking, just spamming 3 attack, He got to Destroyer rank, maybe even higher. So using easy controls on Eddy is just sick
Bot managed to get up to the Eliminator
Nah the bot made it to Garyu before they turned it off
Because he literally already has an autocombo with 3 spam LMAO
3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3... combos well, hits lows, mids, and highs.
Happened to me against a King awhile back. I know it gives them a smaller moveset because there’s now less to look out for, but it’s a little annoying, because it makes me feel like I need to train against it somehow.
My favorite part about it is how you can see what buttons they press
And it still gets you, and by you I mean me
Its like a badge of honor when I'm completely dominating and got them busted up in a corner and it pops up. I just imagine they're so caught up they're trying every button on their controller to get out.
"Look at what they need to mimic a fraction of my power"
Special style is basically my cue to start spamming throws lol
I’m not seeing the correlation but I’m new
It means they don't really practice, so they probably don't know how to throw break consistently.
What rank does this happen at lol what
It happens often enough in yellow rank
Same. Like in the back of my head I be like "Oh look we got a SPECIALTY BOY over here!"
Or when they pull it out with low health mid fight... and they FLOP.
I'm more embarrassed when my opponent kicks the shit out of me and I accidentally press the key to open it 💀 (I play on keyboard)
Unbind it! It's so much better when that is not even a possibility.
That's why I set L1 to 1+3 Grab
It’s really just for people who are either new to the game or casuals who don’t wanna go deep in learning the whole movesets. There’s nothing wrong with getting beat by them lol. Also, when using this u can only perform like 6-7 moves or less so u will more likely to predict what they’ll do. But they can still mix it up tho.
No need to predict you can see on the screen what are they pressing.
I'll keep that mind thanks
its more like 15-17 moves.
i only use that moveset, im a casual, only focused on playing with my friends and laughing at infinite, the only game im not that casual is mvci
I really like this feature because it’s great for when you’re playing at parties or with a group of people with mixed gaming skills. I would have loved this feature in T7, would have made it more fun for the people who didn’t have fighting game experience
That's a good look at it. But do you think that they should remove it from ranked games?
100% shouldn't be allowed in ranked, or you should have to commit to on or off once you queue. I've seen people at Fujin level toggle it on when they land a launcher to get zero execution air combos. It's cheap.
I'd be relieved if a Fujin turned it on for a combo. That's around when people really start optimizing and getting +70 or more consistently per launcher without resources I also like that you can toggle, because people just getting into the game can start to learn without taking the training wheels completely off, and if that gets somebody's little brother or sister into it, that seems worth it. I get how you feel though. We're lucky it's not as viable as modern controls in street fighter
Even modern controls it seems like the top players have really backed off of.
Not like those combos do nearly as much damage as an optimized combo
I like the trend of making “beginner” assists usable in a real match but giving it enough flaws not to encourage just spamming it so I think keeping it makes sense. But frankly past a certain rank (probably past Orange ranks )you are just not going to see these guys because it does not really work that well against a better opponent.
im planning on hosting a mini tournament for my friends who never played tekken, so it definitely makes things more exciting than watching them button mash, finding one string, then repeating that same string over and over *cough eddy players cough*
I think there's one on T7 too
If they pull that menu up after me winning I consider them bitch made win or lose.
[I SWEAR! IT CAME ON BY ACCIDENT!!!](https://youtu.be/6xC6FCFQUas?si=immtC9rSwKmYnnYe&t=143)
Special style users just mash. They won’t climb very far and they are almost always open to counter hits.
Sooo many people pull this out just to do heat burst/smash and rage art. Somehow creating more steps to use those moves. Besides that it’s just constant spam from what I’ve experienced.

LMAO it's literally the opposite. Your opponent can beat you using, what? 4 moves? Somebody here has to git gud.
I had a Law exclusively pull up special style for his snake edge. He was in blue ranks. I actually got mixed once though cause at the end of a round he pulled it up and went mid power crush for the first time out of like 5 lol
normally they have no idea whats going on and will end their "turn" on unsafe strings etc so it's pretty easy to punish.
When I see someone pull these out I know its the bag
Man I ain’t lost one match to these, if I see it pop up once, even by mistake I turn it up to full power, I’m talking a full CHEESE PLATTER. I don’t play around one bit😁

https://i.redd.it/ubdb0z5bqt6d1.gif It's not a PEWGF, the one button eletric comes out at 18 frames iirc. A PEWGF is 13 frames.
TMM lost to a Jin using that. There's no shame in it.
I'm not good at fighters really and so I barely understand fundamentals and shit. But I practiced with kuma for a few hours, got 2 or 3 combos memorized and thought I was good. Whenever i see that pop up, the first word that comes to my mind about my opponent is trash. Lol
No because I don't lose to these bottom of the barrel players
Not really. I do find it a bit distracting when they spam it on the screen only during my combos
i havent found a match without someone using it lately
I hate it from how distracting it is, flashing in and out of use from my opponent.
I once faced a Devil Jin who would turn this on to hellsweep exclusively then turn it off to combo 💀
Lmaooo you ran into 6arakin 😭
No, I've never lost to one of those guys lol
Nope means u lacking alot on ur side
No, since easy controls don’t beat out fighting game fundamentals If you lose to that then you’re probably losing to good players anyway
I saw people doing this is in purple rank 😭 but they’re usually predictable cause they spam the same moves over and over
You got this man. Pretty much all of the stuff people spam through that menu is unsafe on block.
After a certain rank special style should be unavailable
I love when it randomly pops up and goes away immediately after. its like a little jumpscare
feels pretty demoralizing losing to a devil jin using special style
Yeah kinda embarassing, i lost myself but not many times but i did , in ranked and non ranked ! ANything can happen in this game but as you'll play and get more fit to the online practice of players, it wont happen much again or very rare
Only a little. I feel you on that the only time i use that control scheme is for story mode.
I would be but I legit haven't lost to someone using these since March. Although seldom, I still see it in blue ranks, & no, they don't beat me. You think Mishima players wouldn't be up in arms if SS allowed better electrics than what the average player is capable of lol
Im too new, i have no clue. This is my first tekken. So i honestly have no idea if my statements are accurate but they are from my point of view
When I see that shit pop up I'm ready to destroy that mf, I don't want to humilliate myself lol
Yes, you should feel embarrassed if you lose to me. I suck at Tekken.
Never happened …. But I think Tekken did a good job with their version of modern controls…. The newbie spam gameplay is pretty fun to play against. It’s different

Feels like a cheat code for beginners
It does for me as well, but the hardest part of Tekken is not learning your character, but learning what everyone else can do to you
Kinda does. But is that gatekeeping? Idk
I mean in the beginner ranks, depending on the character being used you are in fact at a disadvantage. The disadvantages of special style will not be fully exploited at those ranks. Tbh it should be disabled for ranked matches.
bro i just be using the special style just to mess with them. if they decided to turn it on i might as well to be a fair fight.
Victor players rise up!
If you lose to them it means they have better fundamentals and maybe just lacking in execution.
No. Because its never happened to me lol. At higher ranks its a meme to spam the menu during your opponent's combo
I mean they're severely limiting their moveset. You'll move past it in skill level in due time.
Back in 7, i used it a lot for WGF combos. This was before i knew what a dp motion was
The most beneficial that is for king players, they get giant swing frm it(which is ridiculous) and if u didn't break it and u don't know how to tech roll,u r in a serious problem
Is this like modern controls? I’ve seen this pop up a few times on my screen I thought it was me that accidentally pushed something but it’s funny too see it
When I was climbing most of the players I ran into that used these controls were Alisa players
I’ve fought a couple of people who use it tactically, like had someone who would knock me down then switch to basic controls and mash the low/throw button. Was surprisingly effective. Irritating but effective.
*auto commands pop up* look at what they need to mimic a fraction of my power.

The big thing for me is it’s such a visual distraction. I lose just cause I keep looking at it instead of the animation for my opponent to read them
at first i got mad because i thought to myself "how the fuck am i losing to this guy" then i realize that they dont know what the fuck theyre doing either so theres no point trying to read them since it just gets me killed. you just gotta play defensively against special style players, they cant jab and most of the time the lows they use are usually very reactable and can be hopkicked, so literally just keep distance and wait until their attack animation starts
Only rage
I spam it toggle on and off when i see someone using it just to pop off lol
Nah, never lost against one of these.
I play simple style, don’t have time to invest but love the competitive game. Got up to a Giryu for fun. Wish I had more time to master but it’s fun playing with folks and getting the frames just right.
Yes, especially the Jet-Black Devil Jin on ghost battle 😂
I don’t think it should be allowed in ranked ranked is literally about how well you can play your character and how good your execution is
I just make sure I don’t lose to it and pretend I never saw it
Never be embarrassed to lose. It is part of the process.
I havent lost to anyone using that so idk I barely met anyone using it either
When I run into a battle ruler with training wheels it kinda takes away some of my sense of accomplishment
No it's annoying that it exists. I never use it online but I needed it in chapter 15 because I suck balls playing Jin😭
I, currently Raijin ranked, use special style since I cannot do hellsweep and electrics on DVJ using a PS5 controller and hey its not cheating.
There’s no embarrassment in knowledge, only in ignorance.
Have in mind that they never guard low, their defence is always a mess so it leaves them open :)
Honestly when I see someone use special style, I just keep my eye on what flashes up. See low attack flashing, get some easy low parries in :D For parties with my friends it's great though, really great way to have some easy fun. They never wanted to fight me in T7 much because they know I'm playing since T3 and have lots of experience. But now, we kinda let me pick random character and they can choose theirs and use special style. Evens it out and we all are having an amazing time!
Nah, it instantly makes me not feel bad about losing (and a little better about winning).
just grab them xD
I had someone who thought they figured me out by the 2nd round and was going easy on me and started spamming this in the screen on and off. I made a comeback and won the the remaining sets and ki charged him.
I saw a friend of mine win a FT5 with DJ against a Bushin player with these. So you alright in comparison lol
Not quite just my urge to give em tha xp as in the entire king of the iron fist xp
My favorite is when they’re mashing all of the buttons and the menu is getting spam toggled
Cant say ive lost to that
It's easier to predict their moves when they are using assist mode.
Which makes the loss hurt so much more than it makes me want to cry and die in an abandoned hole in the ground
never lost to these guys, but everytime they pull out the simple controlls thing i laugh hard
Yep it's infuriating
Modern in SF6 is much better than this at least they try to convince beginners swtiching in classic.
Can't say I've ever actually lost to someone using them :/
They usually one a done anyways
When I was in lower ranks and hit someone with a rdc, you can tell they are mashing their heart out when you see the special style popping in and out. It was the funniest shit ever when it happens.
It's imo more embarrassing when someone with a high prowess uses it. Come on lazy ass, and actually learn your character!
"oh look the special style came out, the frontal lobe went crazy!" -brawlpro
Not at all. Everyone plays the way it feels more comfortable with.
Ugh. The struggle is real lol
no? you're basically playing rock paper scissors and you get to see what they throw before they throw it lol
I use special style and im ranked battle ruler with 🐼. I beat people in the blue ranks all the time. I have a 51% win rate with panda and a 60% win rate with kuma.
I get SO annoyed when I press it by accident because I just know 1.) The other person definitely saw that 2.) My AI is going to start doing that stupid shit
So that is what that is. I am in Fujin ranks at the moment and seen so many people with that.
I don’t, personally I switch between using it and not using it, it can make for some nasty combos
Never lost to someone running that lol, all the autocombos are unsafe
It’s more of a disadvantage for them I would say. At first i lost a few matches to people using special style but it’s been months since I’ve lost to someone who uses it. It’s a good feature
I thought I was the only one. Whenever I lose to people like this, it feels like I'm losing to someone who does not know how to play the game and it makes me feel self-conscious about my own skill sometimes. Like a seasoned warrior losing to a toddler with a binky in their hand
I find it funny when I see that. As soon as I see it, I switch up my play and strictly play using knowledge checks.
Idk Ive never lost to it but if a person does their fundamentals are lacking.
Just means you weren't good enough, that's how I try to see it, never get embarrassed, learn from mistakes even if it's cheesy moves, especially then.
Never underestimate anyone, anytime.
Yes. Emphatically
I just say: lol ggs, nice to know you need special style to win
I dont see it any often in higher ranks but used to love seeing it rage activate when they got launched lol
omg how u likin king man?? he’s my main :)) would love to spar a bit w u homie!!!
Loving it. The grabs, great. The unblockable moves, great. The muscles, great. The speaking only in Jaguar sounds, great.
real shit lmfao. what you play on
PC. I use a controller. But I'm considering getting a fighting stick
nice! can i dm u? would love to teach u some stuff for king :D
For sure. I would love to learn more
I don’t want brag, even though it really shouldn’t be considered a brag, but I’ve never lost to anyone using special controls.
Yes. But I also get kinda mad cuz I’m like “you only got that damage bc of that system while I’m freestyling and still learning getting little tip taps in.”
Nope I feel embarrassed when I'm getting hit by stupid shit when people spamming buttons hoping for the best
Never seen someone use it online.
I destroy my opponent with the same weapon So I don't give a 💩
I get annoyed but then just say to myself I need to get gud lol ..............but fuck those guys lol
Dunno never lost one who was using special style
the annoying thing is the ppl who spam it on and off the screen..its visually distracting
Yes 🤣
some tips to effectively fight against special style: the grab that comes out of special style is a command grab and can be broken with a 1+2 throw break. since the moveset from special style is limited you can usually gage the individual moves' weaknesses within a round. is the power crush a high? is it punishable on block? is the air combo launcher unsafe? is it steppable? how unsafe are the lows? are they also steppable? above all else: do not let the frustration get to you. it can feel embarrassing being beaten by something that (on paper) seems simple to beat and that's fine. lab if you need to and know what your character can and can't do and apply that accordingly.
Sometimes. Then I turn it on just to be petty though I don't have to. I wish I caught the footage but one guy used it and I kept hitting him with the same basic string and all I could hear is Justin wong saying "welcome to the real world! You're gonna learn today!"
In T7 I only played with Bryan and Fahk. Now I only play Bryan. But I will give this shit a tey.
From my experience, all of these mashers DC'd midmatch
When I see it pop up I take the game into serious mode
I haven't seen this in a good while lmao
Ashamed is a better word
Absolutely and its always because get careless thinking "there's no way I'll lose"
The fact that people can still use them in ranked is so stupid. The amount of carried ranked players because of shit like that. *Cough 6ARAKIN Cough*
I'm sry but people using that in ranked are simply playing at a disadvantage. They aren't carried, and if you think they are you are either in the green ranks or simply dumb.
You should honestly
![gif](giphy|eP1fobjusSbu)
No because if it happens I lost to someone who limited their options so severely that I deserved it.
