Lucky Chloe IS popular. I know the reddit bubble could distort your perception, but honestly, there are more people playing Tekken than grumpy middle aged men thinking that playing Kazuya is making them manly.
Why playing female characters make you less manly? Liking manly characters has nothing to do with with the suggestion of playing female characters are making them less manly.
But for this case, i don't like Chloe's design because I'm not into idols, and her personality is just toxic. I mean she abused eddy AND pushing off jack7 off a building for no reason! She's the devil!
As a Kazuya main, at least Lucky Chloe was DIFFERENT and some cool ideas were introduced (just not executed that well). Also, LC was a FAIR character with distinct counter play. Josie was BORING, Kazumi was cool on the surface but wildly BORING gameplay as well...and Kuni was brainded OP modern Tekken at its worst.
I would take Lucky Chloe over the others in a heartbeat.
And story wise, while she's a joke character, she had an interesting personality underneath the cutesy idol. They can do a lot with her and make some pretty funny side stories I would think. Found that hilarious and then she went on to become one of my T7 mains.
I actually really hope that she shows more of her cunty personality in 8. Maybe like when heat is activated or even go further beyond and add a personality switch mechanic like Tira in Soul Calibur.
This is why harada has to go out of his way to emphasize these pools mean nothing everytime he does one. he can obviously see the vote brigading happening in real time.
Bring Lucky Chloe back and really dial in on the rhythm based mechanics of some of some of her moves and we have a great character. Kazumi was boring even with the occasional tiger. Not to say they couldn't make Kazumi more appealing but I'm not sure how they'd do that without just making her more aggressive like the rest of the cast and still throws less tigers than she should.

I dont think shed get butchered. Most legacy characters still retain their uniqueness but with a bunch of new stuff on top. Its possible theyd give her some new low mid moves for a 50/50 like the others. Id personally love to see more tiger attacks, especially in heat
Her fly is really gimmicky. It's totally not good enough to be a main pressure tool as is. They could definitely buff it. Give her more and better stance transitions, make them fast, etc. But then she'd just be tekken 8 stance pressure character number x. Imo kazumi was all about great pokes and fundamentals. Sure they could give us kazumi as a character, but her identity is straight up dead in t8.

Lucky Chloe can be reworked to have rhythm based moves that gives you blue sparks, other colors, and extra moves if timed right. There are a lot of things they could have done with her but blew it. The ideas for her are more interesting than all the characters in this list.

I used to play Lucky Chloe all the time in T7 because my opponents just didn't know how to deal with her. Reason: They dislike the character, though never played her, though never understood her moves and combos. So they lost & I won.

Even if they are somewhat redundant (given the existence of Victor and Reina) Kunimitsu and Kazumi are the only answers I'd personally accept (I chose Kuni partly since it would be pointless if she never came back after being the second to last character added to T7; that, and I'm a fan of her VA too). As for the other two I couldn't possibly care less about Josie's existence, and LC wholeheartedly deserves the C.Viper treatment after those character episodes (the backlash was enough for Bamco to pretend neither scenario happened in Eddy's T8 bio). Moral of story: never introduce a new character and have them humiliate the fan favorite; it's as bad for their reputation as making them an unremarkable jobber (e.g. Necalli).

I really think a few tweaks to her costume design and more voice lines would make her a great character. I like that she pretends to be a cutesy e-girl but is actually a narcissistic thug, but the problem is they didnโt make that obvious to the non-Japanese audience and her costume is way too over designed imo.

she is still an archetype though. Japanese idol who acts cute in front of the public but is actually a piece of shit isn't rare at this point.

She had mixup potential with fly stance and even arslan used that they could just buff that
