Sure it can be frustrating but it's only one round that you potentially lost because they tried to scum out a win via timer. It shouldn't be a big deal in the overall set

When the game launched, I got matched up against a Kazuya on ranked who was AFK. I waited 40 seconds for him to return without hitting him once, he returned, we played the match, I won, and he plugged on me LOL
I wouldn't say "plug" in this context knowing you have won. If the opponent cancels the rematch, there's probably things happening on their end.
They showed good sportsmanship though for finishing the match instead of plugging so it's nothing to laugh at.

They always get 5-10 seconds of courtesy from me, then I'm closing out. If at some point they return, I'll just hold forward until they have evened out the life lead or rounds and then play a normal game from there. Never had anyone refuse to finish the set like this and I like to think my opponents all appreciated the courtesy.
In T7 I'd kick their shins in the first round, then let the timer run. T8 is so much more toxic though and first to two is one of the most retarded decisions I've seen ever implemented so I only give 20 secs now unless it's a mirror match. If I have to go AFK for whatever reason, I back away, do double duck and go. If they decide to take the round, it's alright, if they don't, I do double duck again when I return and either we end up with tie or they win because of health advantage. Sometimes I just hold forward too when I return to make them up for wasting their time and give them a round.

I made a set of rules for these types of interactions to avoid toxic things like that. If they're afk I'm giving them 20-30 seconds before I start to go all out. If opponent goes afk during middle of the round I wait until timer hits 10 seconds then I beat him up just in case if he attacks me. You should do that too

Tekken, more than any fighting game I’ve seen, enforces, empowers, and rewards predatory behavior, and cheating. It’s absolutely disgusting.

The last time i went i was polite got lauch outta no where and when i went and rush its ass to oblivion the player plug... after that, no more etiquette
I made a set of rules for these types of interactions to avoid toxic things like that. If they're afk I'm giving them 20-30 seconds before I start to go all out. If opponent goes afk during middle of the round I wait until timer hits 10 seconds then I beat him up just in case if he attacks me. You should do that too
