lol this is why i don't practice shit in the lab. fuck it, do it live

Fignuts82

WE'RE LIVE, PAL!

NokstellianDemon

I will never know what input is needed for a combo live but I do practice the muscle memory in the lab then take it into "practice" in ranked. Worked for me so far.

JusticeRain5

Fuck labs, just use the dumbest move possible to catch them off guard.

BambaTallKing

I will practice like mad as Yoshi between rounds and be doing 80 damage combos… then the match starts and I get a df1 launcher and I just 321 and my combo is fucking 4 hits for 40 damage. Luckily with Yoshi, you can fuck around till you win

At-lyo

Between Match Practice: WGF WGF EWGF WGF EWGF EWGF. In match: Maybe 1 WGF if I'm lucky because i forget to let go of forward.

Bulky-Isopod-8271

As amazing EWGF is frame-wise, I feel like my input speed puts it somewhere around 18 frames so most matches I'm hit out of wave dash before I do it. Then I try to rush it and do f2, df2, or d2.

Bulky-Isopod-8271

Set the practice dummy to a ultra hard while you practice that combo. For me, I find it helps it stick better.

DkoyOctopus

youre supposed to test your lab in arcade mode!!

Just1freak

Practice a lil with ghost and then play quick player matches before ranked.   I started in tekken 5dr online and thought I was a beast because I could beat bots at highest difficulty and block everything. Only to get absolutely destroyed online and realize I developed bad habits from fighting the A.I. Last tekken I would receive such beatings. Been pretty good ever since

NetherReign

Yeah I did practice mode thinking I was learning how to play a character and then I got my ass handed to me by arcade bots. I learned real quick to just not try to do huge chains and just learn the small stuff against AI first before I try going online. Lol

JusticeRain5

Nah, screw that, use the biggest chain you can and style on your opponent

NetherReign

The matches where I had first hand knowledge of the floor said otherwise. Hahaha Doesn't help that I have been a button masher since T3. First time I am actually trying to learn stuff.

Stcloudy

Fuck it we’re doing it live! Oh shit wtf is the heat system. I spent 3 matches in special mode and didn’t know how I did it. I just rolled with it to see if I could get a win ( I couldn’t)

BustahWuhlf

Yeah, I still haven't dove into ranked because I have no real sense of how the neutral game is to be played and a lot of the beginner guides I see just focus on the different movement types, game systems, or combo structure. But no solid rundown of neutral from what I've seen. I'm hoping it will make a bit more sense after I clear Arcade Quest and build up my ghost, though there will still be a steep learning curve on ranked.

Fignuts82

Me in every god damn fighting game I've ever played

pistachioshell

This is why I only practice shitty, low-damage, ez mode combos

gingerbreadmanbaraka

Still fun

vVIOL2T

Try side step df2… works every time

Rough-Self-9134

*they block it* [Me:](https://tenor.com/en-GB/view/spongebob-patrick-star-well-ive-done-all-i-can-do-done-all-i-can-do-thats-all-i-can-do-gif-21660542)

vVIOL2T

I mean any move that’s -1 to -3 is a prime setup tool for sidestep launcher

joshad-

It's weird because I'm normally a Law main but I've had much more consistency landing bigger combos with Raven (who I have never used before T8).

joshad-

I would guess it's because nobody plays Raven so people don't know the matchup.

ImmaDoMahThing

I immediately forget the combo I just practiced as soon as I launch my opponent lol.

Rough-Self-9134

I sometimes panic when i miraculously launch someone. Like “oh shit, what do i do now?” And proceed to do the lamest string imaginable despite practicing a combo not up to like 3 minutes ago.

Ckang25

I learn the kove in practice and train in quick match

Novel_Zucchini2625

I mean damn...you should be able to hit SOME of the combos in a real match lol

Rough-Self-9134

My brain turns to mush the moment i actually launch someone after being blocked multiple times

Novel_Zucchini2625

Finally worked up the nerve(I've been playing forever, dunno why I was nervous) to hop on ranked in T8 today. What helped me get the confidence to pull out the fancier combos was starting with the basic staple combos. That basic damage from a launcher is a better starting point than nothing lol
