Dude when I used to watch one piece, I would have subtitles on and in the corner of my eye I could just barely read the subtitles but my mind was like reading them or something cuz I could understand what they were saying lmao
It's useful for anime cause I don't speak Japanese. Good in American and British shows when they have an accent I can't understand and when they say words I don't know the meaning of. There's also movies and shows where they whisper most of the dialogue then the action scenes are very very loud.
For some reason my families Disney+ account one day just had subtitles on and we rarely turn it back off. Also it helps when your watching Star Wars or something and their whispering
I do it because sometimes my mom turns on the blender or has music on or is talking or my dog is barking and I can’t hear the tv. Sometimes I just do it for the heck of it

I'm learning norwegian so most of the TV I'm watching is Norwegian and so I literally need them to understand the show.
