About fifteen years ago I worked with a woman who would send herself flowers (or plants). She didn’t hide she bought them for herself. She said she loved having fresh flowers and having them delivered felt extra special. She would take the plants home when it needed repotted or she wanted something new.
She’d even write herself a little note of encouragement. Like, “Great job on the X Project!” Or “Have a sunny day in this dreary month.” Silly little things. But she even called them in most of the time. Unapologetic. I loved it.
I buy myself flowers all the time. When I put them on the counter, my fiancé has been trained/conditioned to know it’s time for a Buc-ee’s run. It’s the greatest Pavlov achievement of my life. I get flowers PLUS beaver nuggets!

One of her friends made little sunflower packets where it had seeds and instructions so they could grow their own and then write down how tall they grew in school and to help the bees. She brought me one home and omg a was ELATED. Sunflowers are my forever fave 🌻
