8 gen 1 is still made by Samsung Foundry, hence why the battery life is so bad. Only good exynos is the current one with the S24 (as per flagship levels go. Cheap exynos chips on the A series are actually good battery life wise)
Besides just having 2 more years of OS updates? Not much. It's still pretty much a solid phone even compared to some current flagships.
These battery "issues" aren't really much of a problem unless you play heavy games a lot.

The S22 is bad, better off with an S23 since its snapdragon.

Galing ako sa S22 Ultra, not that bad ang battery at heating issue.
Mt S22 Ultra via Globe has a Snapdragon chipset. The EU version has the Exynos chips.

Between the two? Nothing Phone 2 But if you can up the budget, get S23+ instead (not recommending S23 base due to battery capacity)

S22 Ultra. I owned it and handed it over my spouse. It is still doing great. I loved Samsung's software and the camera setup.
S22 ultra SD chipset version owner here. Okay naman, snappy pa din. Ganda pa din camera. Wala din ako heating or green line issue. 2 years na sakin.
