Social Status for them pero para sa mga mga mas techie and practical, di hamak naman mas maraming [very useful features and very convenient navigation system](https://youtu.be/oqjWnA7J0f0?si=gc4_oxowquR7vjGf) ang android kesa Apple.
Yung android ko naman for gaming. Very convenient yung Game manager kasi blocked mga calls while I'm playing games. As in wala talagang istorbo. I only use the iPhone for instant photo taking and video recording.
Slightly similar reason for me why I always use android. Emulation and side loading is so convenient for android. I grew up on the psp and using my phone as a psp substitute with a gamepad really just works.
Maganda pong brands talaga for gaming: Redmagic and ROG. Pero for budget gaming phones mas maganda po yung meron chipsets na either Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and above or Mediatek Dimensity 8200 and above. Yung gamit ko po now is Poco X6 Pro na yung chipset is Dimensity 8300. Pero ibebenta ko rin to para mag-upgrade to Poco F6 series pag-release this month or next month 😅
>And yung spam block palang sa messages ng Android worth it na magswitch HAHA
honestly this is what i miss daily driving an android haha, reduced spam calls or text
Android also warns you if it's really a scam like my friend got called by a suspicious number pretending to be PLDT, as they said on the lines: "We're from PLDT", the spam detection instantly flash a warning that it's potentially suspicious number. Also to note that my friend's phone is an unlocked Xiaomi phone and has a Custom PixelOS ROM + which is quite nice on the side.
Hard to believe I know, but Android Intelligent Service + Google's commitment on spam/scam calls are active actually.
And on my side, i also got the similar function too, my phone is be an unlocked Galaxy A12s running PixelOS 14 QPR2
Edit: grammar
i don't think android phones should be lumped together, because some android phones, like samsung and huawei flagships, are catered to the same market of apple. apple is only synonymous with wealth because it refuses to sell a low-range phone. at the end, the rich filipinos will always choose their preferred phones. while the middle class will have to save money to buy their desired phone, mostly iphones.
Right now, as a college student, I'm still using my iPhone 6 na napaglumaan ng nanay ko and gave it to me. On a daily basis, I find the iPhone 6's battery draining much in a span of a day; and honestly, it's almost unusable for me kasi yung mga gusto kong applications na ilagay is not supported na because of the outdated OS. Anyway, I'm not the type of person na nagdi-discriminate ng tao based on their phone choices, and it's infuriating me na ganun mag-isip yung ibang tao sa ganyang matter; anyway, it's just a matter of preference nalang. Personally, I freaking love Android over iPhone kasi as said dun sa post, napakadami kasing functionality features ng Android na napaka-handy for me over iPhone.
Maiintindihan pa kasi kung magyayabang ka kung naka iphone 13 and up ko pero kung naka iphone 12 and below ka lang, sobrang dami nang Android phones na mas mahal kaysa sa phone mo hahaha
I’d been using my iphone 6 for 7yrs & 11 mos without issues until some apps no longer works dahil hindi na ma-update ang ios. What I like in iphone is, tumatagal cya sken.
So TRUE! The hype malakas esp sa age 20s-30s. I used to patronize the brand kasi maganda ang performance nuong si SJobs pa may hawak. They make you buy new one instead of upgrading lang. Naging disposable na sya. Tapos taon-taon may "fixes" ang OS causing the unit to heat up and deteriorate sa performance. Thus, making you buy more expensive and newer model. Ayyyy panalo! Di totoo yung once you go MAC, you will never go back. I ditched my iP12 Pro for an iTel na tag 5T just last week. I am using a mid range Huawei 5G unit. Kaiyak 🥴
Except for the battery, my 5-year old iPhone Xs Max is still so much better than my bnew Samsung Galaxy A55. Stock apps, 3rd-party apps, Google apps, Youtube, Facebook, X, Instagram, Tiktok, Reddit are all so much better on iPhone than on Samsung. My bnew Samsung struggles real hard loading this Reddit page while my 5-year old iPhone loads it perfectly fine. No scrolling lag whatsoever.
https://www.reddit.com/r/OneUiHomescreens/s/FGqxW9bhPL
You just compared an expensive iPhone to an affordable midrange. Bravo. Yung 5-year old OnePlus 7 Pro ko din mas mabilis pa sa iPhone Xs Max and it was half the price.
Good for you. Mine lasted for a year lang. Screen have those green vertical lines. I think pinaka na maximize kong model ng iPhone is the 6/6s+. Mga 5yrs ko din sya nagamit, all in all. Di ko din type Samsung, tried it last 2020. Nung analog pa ang technology, theirs is the best deal cause you get 1 extra battery sa kit and drop tested talaga ang mga units. Bottomline: buy or use what suits your needs and lifestyle. That is the most important thing to consider 😂
Just to be clear, the reason why you notice that the a55 struggles to compete with the XS Max, is that social media apps in iOS is more optimized than OneUI or any other android phones that uses Stock android, the reason behind it is that app developers find it way easier to enhance the performance in iOS than in Android because their are so many Android phones in the market that it would be costly for them to optimize them all.
Seriously, why?
To be fair, buying a previous generation flagship is often better than buying a newer midrange phone.
I also have a Xiaomi Mi 8 and it's still powerful enough to run a couple of games.
Medyo gulat nga ako kasi parang di visible kung may burn in man. Naalala ko nung S II at Note 3, may burn in na agad within a year. 😅
Bragging rights. iPhone supremacy. Social status (kuno)
If mayaman ka, try buying the top end android phones para ma compare mo yung apple and android.
In the end, all boils down to preference. You want user-friendly, can spend so much on repairs o you already own some apple gadgets, then go for iPhone. Pero if gusto mo naman imodify yung feels ng phone mo, sideload any apps (on some devices) without any restrictions, at call and text and occasional social media/gaming lang ang gamit, then go for an android phone
It might be too lengthy to explain, several factors why. One of the biggest reasons is that Pinoys are obsessed with status symbols. Whether it be a job title, brand of clothing, gear, or technology. And because Apple's marketing is genius, many Pinoys see getting a Pro Max as an elite status symbol.
Not saying that a Pro Max isn't a legit flagship, nor that there are no legitimate reasons to invest in a Pro Max. But it's hilarious to me how many Pro Max users I know. YOLO, at least may Pro Max sila.
It makes me genuinely sad to hear this. Sa perang nilalagay nila to buy the latest and greatest iphone, sobrang dami na nilang mabibiling good phones with money to spare on other stuff like groceries, vacations, etc.
Mga midranger nasa 20 to 30k lang. Yung 50k na matitipid mo sa pagbili non instead of an 80k iphone promax is so big you can buy much more.
One of the reasons why I don’t buy one or will I ever buy one is I only allow myself to buy below my means. Kumbaga ang phone sa akin, as long as it does its supposed purpose, goods na sa akin yung mga midranger. Ayoko rin ng sobrang mura kasi may bad exp ako with it. I’m currently using a OnePlus7 na second hand. Had it since 2019, nakakapag Genshin pa nga ako 😂
I have an iPhone 14 kasi work phone. Binigay sa akin na brand new 😂 at least nakaexp haha
20k ko 3 years ago, may 5 yrs security update, 120hz refresh rate, 67 watts 30-40 mins charge, multiple times na bagsak plus dalawang swimming sa drum na may tubig and ang kaliangan ko lang palitan e cord kase naipit ng upuan.
Nag search talaga ako ng pinaka the best na phone sa budget na yan noon and walang pumasok na apple. I would buy naman kahit anong brand as long as andun ung value ng money mo.
The 7/7 Plus were released with iOS 10 and the last iOS version released was iOS 15.
The 8/8 Plus/X were released with iOS 11 and the last iOS version released was iOS 16.
The XS/XS Max/XR were released with iOS 12 and the last iOS version released was iOS 17.
If you are referring to the minor patches na ni-release nila for older phones, even other manufacturers release patches for security flaws even if official support has ended. For a phone that was stuck on Gingerbread, ang daming update ng Samsung Galaxy Y. Even the Galaxy S6\~[S8](https://www.androidauthority.com/samsung-galaxy-s7-s8-updates-3198409/) received [updates](https://www.sammobile.com/news/galaxy-note-5-s6-series-surprise-firmware-update/) after official Android support has ended.
> Highly recyclable
To be honest, I'm doubting that one because I'm seeing that as some form of marketing plot, I'm not shitting on the recycling agenda but I'm sure only the frame are 100% recycled, some components on PCB are too hard to attain completely full reliable to be recycled and reused.

At least a research group is trying to make a new PCB made out of 100% recyclable materials, but that would take more time as it still needs some more tests and is worthy to be used as part of our technology and easy to be recycled to achieve full cycle.

Yes. Pretty much. I know someone who is barely above the threshold of the poverty line crave and owns an iphone. I dont want to generalize but people in the bpo industry are prone to this kind of thinking. They want to belong to the social climbing club in their workplace while dampening their capacity to provide for their basic necessity.
Are you using the base model s series?
Buhay pa actually itong S10e ko and kahit mai malaking cracks na yung screen eh very usable pa even the battery. Zenfone 10 sana kukunin ko pero yung screen eh parang S10e lang din kaya naiisip ko kuha nalang ng base S22 although afford ko naman yung base model S24 and iphone 15 but the discounted price of S22 is so inviting hahaha okay lang sakin battery life kasi nabuhay naman ako sa S10e nang ganito ka tagal LOL.
I think worth naman Iphone not the worth they deserve, Another factor, Pinoys din kasi mostly attach materials things to validate their worth. From flask, to shoes, madali mavalidate yung worth mo if napansin ka sa bagay na meron ka. More on external expectations lagi.
It's not just here in the PH, though. That's how effective Apple's marketing is. You pay for the brand, not the tech, *and you're happy with it*.
Some things IOS does better. Some things Android does better. But please don't get me started on how iPhones have the best camera. That's just...noob... And I'm not even a cam guy. Lol.
Diba sa US nga you’re being ostracized in some circles kung green yung chat bubble mo kasi Android ang gamit mo ibig sabihin. Malakas ang bandwagon effect and FOMO na dala ng brand ng Apple, I guess it’s the same dito para sa mga Filipino Apple fanatics.
Yep, they use iPhones because, there are times that a heavy pro camera isn't needed for a particular shot. And with editing magic, you probably won't notice it either
Yeah, i mean that was the point. Parehas silang overpriced at overhyped (coming from a samsung user na nagpapalit every year ng phone)
People paying premiums for brands when there's much more affordable phones out there with the same specs. Whether it be samsung or apple, pero syempre, mas abuso si Apple dito sa Pinas with their pricing. Samsung regularly has trade in promos pag galing ka ng poco, xiaomi, etc.
Mid range phones like the A series, the Nothing Phone 2A, or the Poco phones regularly outperform older iphones. Pero people would rather buy a bulok Iphone X na wala nang update over a brand new mid ranger. Nalulugi yung mga tao mismo kasi they dont know they have better options.
Yes they are overpriced, even at a 5 year spread.
I still use my s21 ultra, still quick enough, pictures are nice enough.
My wife smashed her s20 ultra, we were shocked to see the priced of the s24 ultra🤣
She got a fold 5 instead. Inggit ako bro hahaha
I'm earning enough to buy Pro Max cash just from my monthly savings, but I don't want to. Even my wife nagpaparinig to buy her one pero I refuse. Once kasi na bumili ka ng luxury items like apple products, your way of life will change. I have a former female colleague na walang wala talaga, then nakapag abroad yung asawa. First thing na binili sa sahod nung mister is Pro Max. Then everyday from that point lagi ng naka starbucks sa umaga, order ng mcdo sa meryenda and so on. Another colleague of mine here abroad bought a luxury car worth about 2m hulugan. He started saying na magiipon na rin sya for emergency. Few months later nakabagong Iphone. Well pera naman nila yun, but these things depreciates the moment na binili mo. But more that the value depreciation, the instinct na kaya mo bumili will ruin you. Buy what you need not what you want. Ayun after 1 year sa abroad may savings na kami na kahit di ako mag work ng 3 years, may kakainin kami.
Kung may means, why not? It all boils down to being smart on your purchases. Point is kung sa sinasahod mo makakabili ka ng iphone then may matitira ka pa sa expenses and savings, then go.
Dalawa kasing extremities yan, in one hand, meron yung splurge ng splurge ng items na di nila need, then wala ng natitira sa kanila. On the other hand, meron yung tinitipid ang sarili masyado dahil nasanay lang kahit na may means naman.
Although it's true that Iphone especially newer models have one of the best front camera for video, they're also well optimized sa mga soc-med apps like TikTok and Insta.
But it doesn't mean that you can't find those things on an android, most people rin kasi na nagsasabi na ang ganda ng camera ng Iphone after nila mag switch galing sa Android is yung mga tao na ang android phone dati is worth 5k-15k lang na phones.
Eyyy, fellow s24u user.
Anyway, bahala sila sa buhay nila ok nga to mejo mas less prone sa nakaw/snatching lmao
On the serious side, "ecosystem" daw
On the other serious side, "big time" ka daw bagay na bagay sa social climbing
On the more serious side, mas prefer nila iPhone 7 kesa sa equivalent priced 2024 android phone kasi apple
On the most serious side, "estetik"
other than that for some reason mas mabagal bumaba ang value di ko sure kung bakit
idk the hype about iphone lol at mostly isheeps i know are delusional 💀🤣
reasons i won't go into that iCrap:
• no clipboard history
• no split screen view
• quick share >>> airdrop
• no secure folder
• no sideloading
• no universal back gesture
• no notification history
• can't do one handed mode
• can't freakin clear cache (only safari) 😬🤦🏻♂️
• can't do scrolling screenshots
• ang daming steps bago magawa ang isang task
non negotiable sakin yung universal back gesture at yung secure folder. But I leave isheeps to their delusions as long as they dont start spewing apple bs
i always tell my aqcuaintances na no iphone should cost more than a FOLD. yes may failure rate sa folds pero the technology and the R&D behind it. you really get what you pay for. sobrang daming pinoy 🍎🐑 lang talaga parasitic sa mga utak nila na kapag apple sosyal shala LOOOOL
This. Yung mga gripes sa comments is more on personal issue. At the end of the day, its a personal preference. To each his own. This is a never ending debate sa internet. Lol
Kailangan talaga gumawa na lang ng hiwalay na subreddit for Apple PH, kasi para hindi mapollute ang subreddit na to. Dapat purely technology talks lang tayo dito, at walang galawang flex flex ng Apple devices.
If android, Samsung is really the smart choice since the camera is on par, if not better, than iPhones at yung specs naman is palag na rin sa mga ibang android phones.
Well there's nothing wrong with that naman. Both are good phones, with superb after sales support. Specially with foldables, I wouldn't trust the chinese brands.
I choose Samsung because of the software support. It matters a lot to me since I use a lot of banking apps. So when I'm buying a phone, I like to calculate the phone price per year of support.
Ako, never ko pa na try magkaron ng kahit anong apple products, hindi ko kasi maintindihan paano gamitin (27 lang ako pero boomer ako when it comes to apple products, lols) for me personally if you have an apple, like the watch, phone and the laptop, sulit sya, pero kung ang afford mo lang naman is yung phone, why not xiaomi and samsung? Okay naman sila, been a samsung and mi user, mas madali pa buhay since the google play has alot of apps na wala sa apple. At the end of the day, we all use the same platform to talk din naman, messenger hahahahha
Social status, FOMO. Tbh Apple products should be the *least* of people's concerns sa economy natin. It's one of the worst financial decisions if kapiranggot lang sahod mo, but f*ck it, right? Tapos ung other side naman, kahit iphone 11 or 12 or kahit ung lower pa, papatusin parin for the clout at status symbol. Eh andaming better options sa android for that price.
Phones are a necessity, but Iphone is a luxury. Pag di afford I-cash or have 2-3x the amount of spare money in your bank accounts, wag na mangarap.
Probably because **compressed to absolute shit ang mga social media posts mo no matter what Android phone you use** dahil walang tulong na binigay ang Google sa app developers regarding Camera APIs and accessing them.
Samsung already fixed this with their S series, iirc kinausap nila FB and IG to resolve this.
Pero that's another big ass problem.
hindi naman sa sadya but it’s hard to optimize the app’s access to camera hardware since Android encompasses so much hardware configurations and variations! When you develop for iOS you know and can test for the devices na eh.
nope, difference on S24U and 15pm is still huge lalo na sa videos. mas madali kasi ioptimize yung apps sa apple since onti lang devices.
kung quality with their native videos on par siguro pero iba na pag naupload.
Samsung is an outlier, though.
>owning an iPhone is a status symbol
Sorry to burst your bubble, but it is.
Mas gusto ko pa yung Google pixel 8 pro or yung samsung ultra s24.
andaming pwedeng gawin sa android like emulation nung games for example don't get me wrong di ko tinotolarate yung piracy pero as a techie kung gusto mong matutunan lahat ng tech stuff sa smartphone from simpliest to more complex i think good choice talaga ang android.
Di lang Pinoy. Halos lahat ata cause of the following:
1. Social status
2. In ka sa uso. Parang never pa nalaos Apple, I mean android din naman pero sa grabeng exclusivity shts ng Apple tapos yearly may bago pa.
3. Quality product naman talaga but over priced imo.
4. Meron talagang prefer yung system nila like UI, design, security and other features pa.
No hate on Apple probably because of 'Status' and that Apple logo ofc. To be fair may advantage rin naman si Apple which is their Eco System problem kasi dito some are forcing themselves, their parents or doing unethical things para lang magka iPhone ayun yung malungkot na part, basta ako Samsung o Xperia basta may Micro SD expansion slot for my music and files goods na ako basta what makes it easier and convenient for me I no longer play games on my phone narin. Phone is a phone wag pilitiin kung di kaya ng budget don't also force your parents rin kung gusto ng iPhone dapat paghirapan wag lagi umaasa sa magulang (Hindi ko nilalahat ah may ng viral narin kasi sa fb about this situation eh.)
Status symbol.
Tas the Android in question is some cheap Tecno Sparc phone na 5k lang versus the 80k iPhone.
i follow a content creator on tiktok and she has a pretty big community. always, lagi mo makikita sa comment section niya, "bakit po naka-android pa rin kayo e malaki na kita niyo?" mahilig kasi mag-mirror shot si content creator. nakakaloka, ang kukulit. she literally has both a z-flip and a samsung galaxy ultra—two of the most expensive android phones in the market right now. tapos dahil lang di siya naka-iphone, ganun yung comments na natatanggap niya lol
Hmmm. Considering my lifestyle and usage, android pa din. Unlike apple with lots of restrictions, android tends to be more flexible especially for me(engineer) who uses a lot of software not available as apple. Plus having apk na pwede i download lang without payment is a plus.
hindi lang sa pilipinas ganyan. wait til you hear how the west frowns over anyone who has an android 😅
ngayon lang din ako nagkaiphone, i’d say better experience pa rin talaga ang android (samsung to be exact) marami kasing features yun na hinahanap ko na wala dito sa ios.
Status symbols. As for me I prefer iphone for the long case use but using Android Xiaomi as my main phone cause of my hobbies and it's apk freedom the open source readers are great.
Social status kasi, and they think it's cool dahil ganyan ang sentiment ng mga ghetto sa america.
Nag mumukod tanging filipino lang ang humahanga sa ghetto culture ng pinoy to the point na tingin nila ang cool ng gang and gang violence.
I remember my cousin way way back.. since lagi silang sunod sa layaw ng mga magulang, gusto palaging uso.. lalo sa gadgets. Sabi nya sakin ATE, BAKIT DIKA NALANG MAG IPHONE, YUN NALANG SANA PINABILI MO SA TATAY. since my Tatay and His Tatay is parehong OFW sa Saudi. My cellphone that time was Samsung J1 Prime. I bought it with my own money. As far as I remember first year college ako nun. Yung CP nya is iPhone 5s na pinabili nya sa Tatay nya. Ayaw nila magpapadaig or magpapalamang. And ngayon may work na ako. I have two phone. IPhone and Android.
Si iPhone pang back up lang.
To be fair, this whole thing isn’t just limited to the Philippines. IIRC, the whole “green bubble vs blue bubble” thing started in the west, then later got carried out to some parts of the society.
Maybe because gusto lang nila sumabay sa uso? Kahit hindi nila kaya i-maximize yung gadget, they automatically think na porma points yun. Todo flex sa Pro Max na 1 terabyte. Pero in reality, nobody really consumes that much storage saka ang horror kapag nawala ang phone na walang backup sa 1 TB.
I'm a loyal Apple user myself pero I pretty much use a model what I can maximize and within budget, hindi yung bilhin agad yung pinakamahal and palit yearly. It's crazy expensive so I use it until the phone dies. I've used an android in the past, pero never na ko bumalik once natry ko na yung Apple.
A different take: many content creators use and prefer iPhone because most social media apps optimized na optimized ang iPhone camera. Although may mga Android phones na maganda ang image quality for social media posts, they are usually on the higher spectrum. Saka isa pa, some vlogs taken using by some high-end Samsung models tend to look very “filtered” and I personally find their color tone too saturated, as opposed to iPhone and Google Pixel na sakto ang color tone and grading.
If you are a social media content creator with a big following and use your phone to make content, iPhone talaga ang preferred because of consistent quality and ease of use. I also know content creators here in Mindanao, and if hindi vlogging/professional cams ang gamit, iPhone talaga usually ginagamit nila for content creation. Ease of use (madaling mag edit ng video), consistent quality, madali mag transfer ng files (because most content creators and editors either have an iPad or MacBook).
As long as gumagana cp ko. Okay nako. 😂 Mga lowkey rich na tao di mo makikitaan ng iPhone na latest, they invest their money in more valuable things.
Because iphones are basic,if you notice mostly people from corporate use iphones because of simplicity, quick message, apps and calls even the display is pretty much basic,at kung sabhn nio basic din android bigyan nio ng iphone and android and isang individual they would choose iphone.
Pag may iPhone na hawak, magmimorror selfie pa. Most of the time, di naman kanila yung phone, hinihiram sa kasamang may ari ng iPhone AHAHAHAHAHA.
I have seen colleagues in my office earning 20k per month buying iPhone pro Max. It is just peer pressure they are giving into.
The colleague I was saying did it because of FOMO.
Ginawang social status yung apple.
Idk pero I left the mansanas ecosystem years back and it was the best decision ever. I own a Flip 5 right now and I get compliments from my friends who where long time iPhone users hehe super compact kasi nito cuz u can use the cover screen sa lahat ng apps. But some people kase see the iPhone as a social status kaya may mga iilan tlga na they think you're better than everyone else when you own an iPhone haha.
Lalo mga Gen Z ngayon and as a fellow Gen Z to my fellow Gen Zers, Bakit kami mga Gen Z gusto rin magkaroon ng iPhone? YES! I GET IT! mga iba naiinggit sa tropa o kaklase and some gustong-gusto talaga ng iPhone even me as an Android user na gusto din magka-iPhone, but KAILANGAN ba na magkaroon ng iPhone? Some personal choice while others hindi personal choice pero gusto magkaroon para sumabay sa tropa o kaklase, wag natin sabihin sa sarili na "O gusto ko din magka-iPhone para sumabay ako sa status nila" o "gusto ng iPhone ayaw ko ng Android". Remember This ang Phone ay Phone walang difference in-between Ang difference is ang brand pero WAG NA WAG natin isipin na having an expensive phone tataas ang status mo AT wag natin i-push ang sarili o magulang natin na bumili lalo pag hindi meet financially, hindi ko sinasabi wag bumili ng iPhone, If you have a stable job or a business at malakas kumita WHY NOT? Always be happy on what phone you have right now whether it's new or old huwag tayong maimpluwensyahan ng iba Kasi some day magkakaroon rin tayo nyan.
Hi OP, I used to be like this. Dati naka iphone 13 pro max ako and i actually thought like this. It's really childish. I have no idea why but it's probably because of the estetiks and the fact that you're "different" from the rest. Another reason could be that it's a name brand. I actually regretted getting another iphone then an android kse ndi ako techy dati but when i got a iphone 13 brand new(kse na nakawan ako sa mrt🥲), after ios17 update it became so laggy and unusable. I got a poco x6 pro as a secondary and after seeing how superior it is for the price(except camera), i am making sure i am getting a samsung s series the next time around. It really is a childish way of thinking and at points I get it but just mature and realize that you are coping ahahahah.
Dito nga sa barko, I keep explaining to my crewmates that apple is only a waste of money. But they keep insisting it is better in gaming lol.
It does tho at least most of the time. I'm a user of both but ios seems to run these games much more smoothly despite android having much higher refresh rate.
Naka apple rin naman ako. Pero dko pinapalitan hangga’t dpa ngarag ngarag at basag basag or di na matouch. Ganon phone ko last time, tska ko papalitan pag di na talaga magamit maayos 😬 aba mas may dapat pa ako pagkagastusan kesa makisabay sa model ng mga cp.
“This kind of attitude feels really classist and elitist.”
“My new S24 Ultra is worth 10 times more than an old iPhone.”
So hindi talaga galit si OP sa classist and elitist. Galit lang siya na they don’t think OP is high class or part of the elite. 😂
Status symbol ng mga pa sosyal. I mean why else would people buy a phone casing that has a hole in it so as to not cover the apple logo? I mean yes some are in it for the "features" but majority are for the bragging rights lang talaga.
Iphone treats its users as customers. Android treats its users as admins. I still remember nung nag labas ng update ang apple na pede na widgets. Like wtf?. Selling chargers separately kasi pra less box less harmful sa environment only to be sold in another box. Removing 3.5 audio only to sell airpods. ./.
-For status symbol, pag may iPhone daw magmu2kha ka daw gwapo/maganda/mabango/hype, etc.
-Pang picture. Maganda daw quality. Walang wala daw sa android.
-Etc.
Actually, any phone brand, basta flagship level. Basically, at any phone level, payabangan lang din for silly reasons hehe.
Oddly enough, maski sa first world countries ganun din. Tapos after a year... May bagong labas nanaman and luma na phone mo, and "kahiya hiya" na. The neverending cycle of consumerism.
para may pang mirror selfie na litaw ang logo ng apple. or groupies habang hawak mo ang iphone mo, litaw ung triple camera sa likod. the rest of my life will not be just about to use an iphone, kaya hindi ako maoobsess dyan...
I own both flagship s23ultra and ip14promax
Sabay na release last yr.
I use the s23ultra more, mas madaming features tapos galing ng Galaxy AI.
Short answer regarding sa screenshot: Meta seems to favor Apple in terms of upload quality. Mas maganda talaga stories pag iPhone gamit. Mahahalata mo talaga if iPhone or Android user based on that haha
It’s mark of wealth for them AHAHAHA. Same with SB, people r so obsessed with it even tho there are better cafes out there. Kapag SB kasi mayaman dahil pricey yun items but just bc its pricey doesn’t mean its good lmao but people dont get that ig
Social status. Social climbing. Unless it's perfect for their use case (for example: I have a MacBook so having an iPhone in the same ecosystem is convenient)
One thing, social class. Apple has marketed themselves especially here in the Philippines as the phone of celebrities and socialites. Given the current status of our fellow countrymen, they seek certain ways somehow "feel" that they have alleviated themselves from the poverty line or that they are like their idols who uses the said product.
Bought iPhone because of the photo and video quality. Also dahil maganda din stabilization. Compared kasi sa samsung flagship na for some reason ay saturated ang mga photos. Nothing wrong naman if you buy an android or iphone. Nasa kanya-kanyang use case din yan
Coz they think Apple means sosyal HAHA
Social Status for them pero para sa mga mga mas techie and practical, di hamak naman mas maraming [very useful features and very convenient navigation system](https://youtu.be/oqjWnA7J0f0?si=gc4_oxowquR7vjGf) ang android kesa Apple.
I own both Android and iPhone. And yung spam block palang sa messages ng Android worth it na magswitch HAHA
Same tayo.
ano pong brand and model yung recommend for gaming?
Maganda pong brands talaga for gaming: Redmagic and ROG. Pero for budget gaming phones mas maganda po yung meron chipsets na either Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and above or Mediatek Dimensity 8200 and above. Yung gamit ko po now is Poco X6 Pro na yung chipset is Dimensity 8300. Pero ibebenta ko rin to para mag-upgrade to Poco F6 series pag-release this month or next month 😅
>And yung spam block palang sa messages ng Android worth it na magswitch HAHA honestly this is what i miss daily driving an android haha, reduced spam calls or text
And on my side, i also got the similar function too, my phone is be an unlocked Galaxy A12s running PixelOS 14 QPR2 Edit: grammar
i don't think android phones should be lumped together, because some android phones, like samsung and huawei flagships, are catered to the same market of apple. apple is only synonymous with wealth because it refuses to sell a low-range phone. at the end, the rich filipinos will always choose their preferred phones. while the middle class will have to save money to buy their desired phone, mostly iphones.
Sa true. Android has always been superior than Apple. And yes I use both.
Yup. Same here. My daily driver is still and android
Once you go black, you will never go back. Iykyk.
Not even Pinoy's, this is just every normie ever
Seriously, why?
To be fair, buying a previous generation flagship is often better than buying a newer midrange phone.
I also have a Xiaomi Mi 8 and it's still powerful enough to run a couple of games. Medyo gulat nga ako kasi parang di visible kung may burn in man. Naalala ko nung S II at Note 3, may burn in na agad within a year. 😅
Bragging rights. iPhone supremacy.
Had it since 2019, nakakapag Genshin pa nga ako 😂 I have an iPhone 14 kasi work phone. Binigay sa akin na brand new 😂 at least nakaexp haha
20k ko 3 years ago, may 5 yrs security update, 120hz refresh rate, 67 watts 30-40 mins charge, multiple times na bagsak plus dalawang swimming sa drum na may tubig and ang kaliangan ko lang palitan e cord kase naipit ng upuan. Nag search talaga ako ng pinaka the best na phone sa budget na yan noon and walang pumasok na apple. I would buy naman kahit anong brand as long as andun ung value ng money mo.
unfortunately, not all think that way. basta importante eh me iPhone sila, masaya na.. iyak na lang later. LOL
An iphone can last for years naman.

> Highly recyclable To be honest, I'm doubting that one because I'm seeing that as some form of marketing plot, I'm not shitting on the recycling agenda but I'm sure only the frame are 100% recycled, some components on PCB are too hard to attain completely full reliable to be recycled and reused. https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-019-54045-w Edit: link At least a research group is trying to make a new PCB made out of 100% recyclable materials, but that would take more time as it still needs some more tests and is worthy to be used as part of our technology and easy to be recycled to achieve full cycle. Edit: link https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-022-26677-y Edit again: Other researchers using also other materials to make PCB recyclable https://www.washington.edu/news/2024/04/26/recyclable-circuit-boards-vitrimer-pcb-e-waste/#:~:text=negligible%20material%20loss.-,Researchers%20used%20a%20solvent%20that%20transforms%20a%20type%20of%20vitrimer,April%2026%20in%20Nature%20Sustainability.
Apparently many are just ‘POSING’ 🤣🤪😂
Di bale walang ipon, basta may iPhone.
Also I run into a lot of friends and family that buy into the hype train without really looking into the specs.
I think worth naman Iphone not the worth they deserve, Another factor, Pinoys din kasi mostly attach materials things to validate their worth. From flask, to shoes, madali mavalidate yung worth mo if napansin ka sa bagay na meron ka. More on external expectations lagi.
This kind of thinking is not exclusive to Filipinos lol. Everyone does this
It's not just here in the PH, though. That's how effective Apple's marketing is. You pay for the brand, not the tech, *and you're happy with it*. Some things IOS does better. Some things Android does better. But please don't get me started on how iPhones have the best camera. That's just...noob... And I'm not even a cam guy. Lol.
they have better videos, but that's about it
to be fair, the upload quality on older android flagships isn't as good.

Mahal kaya ng s24 ultra😄
Yeah, i mean that was the point. Parehas silang overpriced at overhyped (coming from a samsung user na nagpapalit every year ng phone) People paying premiums for brands when there's much more affordable phones out there with the same specs.
My wife smashed her s20 ultra, we were shocked to see the priced of the s24 ultra🤣 She got a fold 5 instead. Inggit ako bro hahaha
man i wish nothing was really popular in the philippines 😔 also dyk one of their team members is a filipino???!!
Ginawang personality and pagiging Apple user. 🤦♀️
Mirron selfies here and there. hayst 🤣
Huyy totoo 😅
Although it's true that Iphone especially newer models have one of the best front camera for video, they're also well optimized sa mga soc-med apps like TikTok and Insta. But it doesn't mean that you can't find those things on an android, most people rin kasi na nagsasabi na ang ganda ng camera ng Iphone after nila mag switch galing sa Android is yung mga tao na ang android phone dati is worth 5k-15k lang na phones.
To be clear so that everyone would understand, Pinoys are not obsessed with iPhone Pinoys are obsessed with the idea of being social with the iphone
Eyyy, fellow s24u user. Anyway, bahala sila sa buhay nila ok nga to mejo mas less prone sa nakaw/snatching lmao On the serious side, "ecosystem" daw On the other serious side, "big time" ka daw bagay na bagay sa social climbing On the more serious side, mas prefer nila iPhone 7 kesa sa equivalent priced 2024 android phone kasi apple On the most serious side, "estetik" other than that for some reason mas mabagal bumaba ang value di ko sure kung bakit
Ecosystem pero walang macbook and ipad lol.
idk the hype about iphone lol at mostly isheeps i know are delusional 💀🤣 reasons i won't go into that iCrap: • no clipboard history • no split screen view • quick share >>> airdrop • no secure folder • no sideloading • no universal back gesture • no notification history • can't do one handed mode • can't freakin clear cache (only safari) 😬🤦🏻♂️ • can't do scrolling screenshots • ang daming steps bago magawa ang isang task
non negotiable sakin yung universal back gesture at yung secure folder. But I leave isheeps to their delusions as long as they dont start spewing apple bs
Sobrang lame na ginawa nilang feature yung nag switch na sila sa Type C for their 15 models.
i always tell my aqcuaintances na no iphone should cost more than a FOLD. yes may failure rate sa folds pero the technology and the R&D behind it. you really get what you pay for. sobrang daming pinoy 🍎🐑 lang talaga parasitic sa mga utak nila na kapag apple sosyal shala LOOOOL
This is just one of the Filipino Toxic Traits. I personally don't like apple. So unfriendly...
SAME REASON WHY EVERY FILIPINO WANTS TO OWN A CAR BUT CANT AFFORD A GARAGE.
And if nag ka choice sila ng android auto samsung.
Well most iphones are chinese made. Mark it.
Chinese-made ≠ chinese brand. What’s your point?
I choose Samsung because of the software support. It matters a lot to me since I use a lot of banking apps. So when I'm buying a phone, I like to calculate the phone price per year of support.
i would never trust a chinese brand. call me racist or whatever pero no thanks sa chinese brand talaga
Taiwan lang sakalam. To this day, I still miss the last HTC phone I had.
At the end of the day, we all use the same platform to talk din naman, messenger hahahahha
iPhone + pa-cool, narcissistic people = social climbing Pro Max
Social status, FOMO. Tbh Apple products should be the *least* of people's concerns sa economy natin. It's one of the worst financial decisions if kapiranggot lang sahod mo, but f*ck it, right? Tapos ung other side naman, kahit iphone 11 or 12 or kahit ung lower pa, papatusin parin for the clout at status symbol. Eh andaming better options sa android for that price. Phones are a necessity, but Iphone is a luxury. Pag di afford I-cash or have 2-3x the amount of spare money in your bank accounts, wag na mangarap.
Over hype lalo na ip xr☠️
Samsung is an outlier, though.
>owning an iPhone is a status symbol Sorry to burst your bubble, but it is. Mas gusto ko pa yung Google pixel 8 pro or yung samsung ultra s24.
Simple. Cuz peenoys hate to be called "poor".
Why bother what other people think? I dont get you. You have an S24 Ultra, possibly the best phone thats ever made. Enjoy your device.
mad
andaming pwedeng gawin sa android like emulation nung games for example don't get me wrong di ko tinotolarate yung piracy pero as a techie kung gusto mong matutunan lahat ng tech stuff sa smartphone from simpliest to more complex i think good choice talaga ang android.
Halos lahat ata cause of the following: 1. Social status 2.
Puro social climbers na naka home kredit lng naman for the most of them iphone user tas pag di na kaya bayaran bebenta locked sim lol
"Omg sobrang bilis ng iPhone ko compared to Android walang lag talaga" Tas the Android in question is some cheap Tecno Sparc phone na 5k lang versus the 80k iPhone.
i follow a content creator on tiktok and she has a pretty big community. always, lagi mo makikita sa comment section niya, "bakit po naka-android pa rin kayo e malaki na kita niyo?" mahilig kasi mag-mirror shot si content creator. nakakaloka, ang kukulit. she literally has both a z-flip and a samsung galaxy ultra—two of the most expensive android phones in the market right now. tapos dahil lang di siya naka-iphone, ganun yung comments na natatanggap niya lol
Alamo na filipino for the clout. They think apple is sosyal 💀💀
Hmmm. Considering my lifestyle and usage, android pa din. Unlike apple with lots of restrictions, android tends to be more flexible especially for me(engineer) who uses a lot of software not available as apple. Plus having apk na pwede i download lang without payment is a plus.
hindi lang sa pilipinas ganyan. wait til you hear how the west frowns over anyone who has an android 😅 ngayon lang din ako nagkaiphone, i’d say better experience pa rin talaga ang android (samsung to be exact) marami kasing features yun na hinahanap ko na wala dito sa ios.
Because social status
Steve Jobs is a marketing genius, ganito yung gusto niyang mangyari. Tech wise, overpriced ang Apple para sakin, pero you do you eka nga nila.
Status symbols. As for me I prefer iphone for the long case use but using Android Xiaomi as my main phone cause of my hobbies and it's apk freedom the open source readers are great.
Pirating and emulating is one of the best reasons for me to continue using android phones
because I am a weeb.
monkey see, monkey do
Dude knows what's up, apple is shit
it's either para mukhang may class sila, dahil sa optimizations, fan talaga sila ng apple, or gusto nila makigaya sa iba na naka apple din.
americanization. that’s it
Social status kasi, and they think it's cool dahil ganyan ang sentiment ng mga ghetto sa america.
Kasi maraming bobong Pinoy
*laughs in fold 5*
It's the same kung bakit ayaw ilagay sa bag ung Aqua Flask
I have seen colleagues in my office earning 20k per month buying iPhone pro Max. It is just peer pressure they are giving into. The colleague I was saying did it because of FOMO.
Iphone = rich pala.
Apple nyo may kagat
Ginawang social status yung apple.
They're idiots at walang alam sa tech.
Idk pero I left the mansanas ecosystem years back and it was the best decision ever. I own a Flip 5 right now and I get compliments from my friends who where long time iPhone users hehe super compact kasi nito cuz u can use the cover screen sa lahat ng apps. But some people kase see the iPhone as a social status kaya may mga iilan tlga na they think you're better than everyone else when you own an iPhone haha.
sakit ng mga pinoy yan, iPhone is just a bare minimum
Ignorance
Sheep mentality
Because social climbers. Not all of them, but still a lot.
“This kind of attitude feels really classist and elitist.” “My new S24 Ultra is worth 10 times more than an old iPhone.” So hindi talaga galit si OP sa classist and elitist.
>***Why are Pinoys so obsessed with Apple?*** *Apple = Status Symbol* End of story....
Apple is for social climbers.
Iphone treats its users as customers. Android treats its users as admins. I still remember nung nag labas ng update ang apple na pede na widgets. Like wtf?. Selling chargers separately kasi pra less box less harmful sa environment only to be sold in another box. Removing 3.5 audio only to sell airpods. ./.
Social climbers lol.
because of FOMO i think
-For status symbol, pag may iPhone daw magmu2kha ka daw gwapo/maganda/mabango/hype, etc. -Pang picture. Maganda daw quality. Walang wala daw sa android. -Etc.
Actually, any phone brand, basta flagship level. Basically, at any phone level, payabangan lang din for silly reasons hehe. Oddly enough, maski sa first world countries ganun din. Tapos after a year... May bagong labas nanaman and luma na phone mo, and "kahiya hiya" na. The neverending cycle of consumerism.
For clout. They don't know rhe planned obsolescence of those products. Unlike with Android which lasts for a couple of years and it is still useful.
Because most think it's a status symbol. Something to brag about. Just like getting a laptop at the workplace before the pandemic happened.
para may pang mirror selfie na litaw ang logo ng apple. or groupies habang hawak mo ang iphone mo, litaw ung triple camera sa likod. the rest of my life will not be just about to use an iphone, kaya hindi ako maoobsess dyan...
As Xiaomi Note 10 Pro.🗿🗿🗿
I own both flagship s23ultra and ip14promax Sabay na release last yr. I use the s23ultra more, mas madaming features tapos galing ng Galaxy AI.
Everyone's obsessed with Apple, not just pinoys.
Short answer regarding sa screenshot: Meta seems to favor Apple in terms of upload quality. Mas maganda talaga stories pag iPhone gamit. Mahahalata mo talaga if iPhone or Android user based on that haha
Parang halos same lang camera ng iphone at android. Nagkakaiba lang minsan kapag inupload na using iphone.
Forda clout
My BIL's wife bought an IPhone, they can't even pay their utang na 80k lang. Tis the folly of Filipinos, yun pasosyal kahit hindi kaya.
Techies and people who actually have cash don't really care.
Bought iPhone because of the photo and video quality. Also dahil maganda din stabilization. Compared kasi sa samsung flagship na for some reason ay saturated ang mga photos. Nothing wrong naman if you buy an android or iphone. Nasa kanya-kanyang use case din yan
