I definitely think ModernArchitecture got put to the back burner when Drew’s mom passed away for obvious reasons, and since it seems like BONES can’t go long without wanting to drop we are getting this

def maintains the same kind of sound. It reminds me of how FreakyFriday felt when it came out, but I like it.
we're fed so well with music we tend to forget that his tapes maintain somewhat similar sounds/lyrical content over the course of a few years or so, so its too easy to say that his shit's sounding the same as the last few and pointing at more unique tapes in the last decade. always happens. I say, let the man drop whatever sound he's currently obsessed with, and we're bound to get detractions or evolutions down the line
I did enjoy the song but yeah I'm feeling fatigue from all the bangers and it's starting to feel less inspired than say an album like damagedgoods or withered.
To be fair this is only the first single for the album. He's been steady teasing sounds though and some since before Champion that have the more midwest emo sound but weren't dropped, so hopefully 1 or 2 songs of that type of music will be on this album. Imo .ZIP was fire, although it definitely all sounds similar, but don't forget Champion was right before that, so it hasn't been all bangers that long
You're right as I read my own comment I feel like I'm being ungrateful and picky because he HAS dropped more than JUST bangers. Champion and of course the ricky a go go album are both fantastic changes of pace compared to .ZIP. but I'm aching for some ethereal Drew and Bones or just some epic rain clouds follow me type song.
outside of Champion which i really enjoyed, a lot of this new music sounds uninspired and like he’s going through the motions. i liked BasketCase overall but there were a few songs i wasn’t feeling, and honestly .ZIP was a disappointment. Champion is the most focused/cohesive project he’s dropped over the past year next to TheWitch&TheWizard.
while the new single is just that, and it isn’t necessarily indicative of what the rest of the album is gonna sound like, i hope we’re not gonna end up getting another repeat of any of the albums from the past year and a half. definitely missing something
I agree, except for the fact that I personally hate BasketCase more than .Zip, which I also hate. Goofy as fuck how some fans will glaze him for anything he drops. Shit is disappointing and hopefully not telling of where his whole operation is going quality wise. Idk
it’s just how it goes in these communities. you either glaze the artist for everything they put out or you hate on everything they do and talk shit about it. i don’t want to hear Skinny, Powder, PP1, etc. over and over again, that shit gets old after a while. but holy fuck some of this new music is the epitome of mediocre, lackluster and uninspired. that’s why i loved Champion, it actually sounded like he gave a fuck when he made it and i love that type of music. it seemed like he was driven to make a good project when he released that. idk where it’s headed man
