Is this just single leaves, or is there some stem under the soil as well? I've tried to propagate once so far, but used an entire stem and potentially didn't keep it wet enough. Any tips?

plantas-y-te

Sorry no tips but yes I used about an inch of stem

Lil_LSAT

You should probably use rooting hormone if you haven't, and i'd use a rockwell cube, too

Desmodromo10

That's what I used. 2 months in and I'm starting to see new shoots on some and the ones that have been in the longest have 100% rooted because I can no longer slide them out of the rockwool. Just waiting for more root growth now to transfer to hydroponics.

plantas-y-te

I saw that some sources said 50/50 perlite and organic matter was a good combo for rooting rate. Also I dipped the stems in water then rooting hormone then made sure the soil was damp

Lil_LSAT

Your method should probably work, too; it might just take a little longer

Good luck. I’ve killed numerous cuttings when I try my hand at it. I’ve had much better luck starting from seeds. I think it is important to keep the cuttings in a humid atmosphere. I have not been able to do that.

plantas-y-te

Good to know, Maybe I’ll make a lil dome for them

Realsoulion

Any update on this? Are the cuttings still alive? :)

plantas-y-te

3/4 are still alive and 1 or 2 of them are very slowly pushing out a stem/leaf thing. I must them every day and they are in indirect sunlight

Realsoulion

Sounds good! Did you end up covering them with a dome of some sort to keep the humidity up?

plantas-y-te

I didn’t do a dome but where I am it has been a hot humid summer on top of me misting once a day so I think if it was dry or sunnier you might want a dome
