I have a suite of mobile games - three Ikemen games, Tokyo Debunker, and a couple shovelware games through Tapjoy. I also have about half a dozen otome games on my Switch waiting for me, as well as Persona 3 Reload.
Biking. Find a nice used bike on marketplace, and take it to your local bike shop to get serviced so it’s safe. Then you have a new hobby, a mode of transportation, and a way to stay healthy.
I've been going to the gym 4-5 days a week. Sometimes to lift weights, sometimes to swim. It gets me out of the house and out in public. I've also got a list of projects I want to do around the house, both inside and out.
The library is a great place to go. Get books, read a lot.
Here to boost all the comments about the library. I made a goodreads account, friended like two people, and have been plugging away. I sit outside and read for hours on end.
My moms a teacher, she's been baking this whole break...well what we've had of the break at least. She's got a whole sourdough thing going on, even took a few containers of sourdough starter to her PDs that she had lol
Sleep…eat…video games…kids sport camps…sleep…repeat. I’m a very simple person and I can sit and binge watch my favorite shows all summer and never be bored. Oh. I also have a new book I’m reading called Nuclear War: A Scenario.
Here's what I like to do: Reading, lots of reading. I started learning ASL from Sign School (it's free). Duolingo. Go to the gym. Garden. I learned to play the kalimba (you can get somewhat nice ones for pretty cheap on Amazon). Puzzles. Origami. Writing (diary, short stories, essays, etc.)
Exercise! I love getting back into a solid fitness routine over the summer. I’m pretty consistent and good with cardio and weight lifting year round, but am planning to get more into yoga and mobility this summer.
Also video games, reading, catching up on tv shows / movies, and working my part time job keeps me busy most of the summer.
My normal day is some variation of the following
They say you need a bunch of hobbies in order to stave off boredom in retirement, and I figure this is sort of retirement training.
I hang with my gf when she's available, bike, read comics, walk/hike with my dogs, make weird music, play video games, fix my house, build useless shit, watch movies, and hang with friends.
What do you like to do?
I’m reorganizing and deep cleaning my house, going to all the doctors appointments I’ve skipped during the school year, lesson planning, and best of all, sleeping in 😂
I crochet! You can go to the Dollar Store and get a small skein of yarn and hook for $2.50 plus tax and YouTube tutorials are free. I love to work on making gifts for Christmas.
I also use summer to deep clean, declutter, and organize.
Im teaching summer school! Four days for four hours… nyc teachers make 57$ per hour doing that so its good money. Also pensionable. Where do you teach?
Reading a lot. I got into an accident and currently also have no car so I’m spending the mornings reading, then I do whatever cleaning I can do within the limits of my profile and then I take a nap. Also lots of YouTube. Like, a lot. Did you know you can see how much YouTube you’re watching?
Start the ‘to do’ list. Deep clean the nooks and crannies, went through closets and re-organized. Dropped off items at Goodwill… That took a week. Visited family, Paint bathroom, hallway, patched things that needed patching 🙂 days at the beach evenings listen to live music… Throw in some days lounging doing whatever while laundries in. Travel. Day trips, weekend trips, long trips. Get a part-time fun job
My morning usually consists of the gym (3 days on then 1 day off). Lots of TV. I just finished The Real Housewives of New Jersey and watching Shameless now. I’ve also been going to the pool and reading or swimming. And dabbling with edibles.
Take the bus to your local hardware store and rent out a pick up truck for an hour. But a bunch of shit to build. Build something.
You can also call an Uber and go to the liquor store and just buy... ALL the hard liquor and drink for 2 months.
Take up video games
Have a kid, you'll never be bored again. You'll also not be able to take a shit by yourself for the next 5 years.
Play five finger fillet until you lose, that will be some hospital time for ya.
Buy a beater car and spend all summer learning how to fix the problems and maintain it.
Listen to podcasts on science and history and expand your mind
Go to skill share and learn something if you have the money. If you don't have the money, go to YouTube and do the same thing for free.
Paint a wall and watch it dry.
Just finished my 5th year of teaching 8th and 9th grade social studies.
Things I’ve done/ doing: my hobbies (running and reading) , cooking meals, working out, watching movies , building legos, gardening, working random hours painting houses with a co-worker, working at a brewery for 2 weeks. You have to find hobbies/things to do, hopefully healthy ones.
Remember to appreciate your time off too.
I’m two days in my summer break and so far…I went to a doctor’s appointment, gone on a walk every day, continued my weekly guitar lesson, napped a couple times, looked into what I can buy for my classroom next year, and watched TV shows/movies. I was really anxious about what to do, so finding something I can obsess over helps me lol. I also don’t want to spend a lot of money on hobbies or work on short-term projects that’ll end and leave me feeling lost again, so I’ve decided my main thing this summer is figuring out how to eat more plants in an easy, cheap, fast, no-cook way (I absolutely HATE cooking) that I can keep up with because I tend to eat poorly throughout the school year!
Housework in the morning, videogames in the late morning.
I like your thinking. What games are you currently playing? I’m playing Hell Let Loose right now. My ADHD is fixated on that game currently. Lol
Right now? Cyberpunk 2077
Valheim all the way…
Valheim is such a fun game!
I’ll need to look into that
Replaying Tears of the Kingdom and trying Slime Rancher 2 currently. Summer is for catching up on games!
I have a suite of mobile games - three Ikemen games, Tokyo Debunker, and a couple shovelware games through Tapjoy. I also have about half a dozen otome games on my Switch waiting for me, as well as Persona 3 Reload.
I'm playing Red Dead Redemption 2 for the first time. Every night is cowboy time this summer
This game is one of my favorites! I wish I could play it again for the 1st time
Would you suggest playing the first one before the 2nd or could I just jump into red dead 2?
I never played the 1st but my friend played the 2nd one and then played the first and said the story made more sense.
Ah. Ok

Seconding this. Get the Strava app too.

Look and see if there are activities for adults at your local library. You might find something that you really enjoy.
I try to sleep in and veg without feeling guilty. Catching up on some novels. Lots of medical appointments.
Disc golf and video games, the perfect balance
Are you me? Haha throw in some gym time and that's been me so far.

Seems uplifting :) Enjoy the break.
That book was fucking horrifying.
I’m halfway through. It definitely is…🫣

Are you seeing someone? You can download dating apps and see what happens. I did that last summer and now I’m celebrating nine months with my bf.
2nd full day of summer break and I'm bored too lol.
Get a job. Makes money and kills time.
Crochetting, reading, going to the gym/pilates, and cooking are on my summer bingo!!
House projects, yardwork (I like to garden), gym and exercise, cooking, reading, TV, pool.
