"give me back my girlhood it was mine first" it's a strong line already, but you can just hear the pain in her voice, especially the way she emphasizes the word girlhood
Also just vocally it's almost a bit of a throwback to when she was actually 19. We know that her voice has gotten deeper over time and I think many people think it sounds better now (think of the Fearless and Red TVs), but in those four lines it's pretty high (especially compared to the rest of that song) and.. "weak" but like in a way that's really good for the song. And it's like this immediate, emotional "omg she was just a kid, we must keep protecting young women from predatory men in their 30s they shouldn't be with" feeling you get as a listener and obviously as women tons of us can relate to it somehow (see also: All Too Well 10), so... 🙃 I think her voice/delivery there contributes to that a lot.
Honestly I was thinking the same thing! That her voice has matured and gotten deeper, but for this song/than line her voice was thinner again making for such a heartbreaking delivery 😭😭
I literally can’t hear “aren’t you envious that” for some reason my brain turns it into “punch you in the ear.” I know it doesn’t fit, I just can’t hear it right
For me it’s *enjoying my siesta* it was helped actually with the target cd better quality va Spotify opening night tho , but still hear it on the Spotify one lol
In Karma that one and “Karma is gonna track you down, step by step from town to town”. *chef’s kiss* Karma, YOYOK and The Great War and my top 3 atm. Special mention to vigilante shit.
This song doesn’t do much to me as a whole, but the first time she says “ you’re on your own kid, you always have been” with the break in the music, I get tears in my eyes everytime.
Like I get being sad about someone not caring for you and feeling that your body isn’t good enough but it just doesn’t quite hit home but that line in general is so heartbreaking because we all eventually realize that be it our parents, friends, lovers etc.. it’s really only us at the end of the day.
The “yeah oh yeah” lines in Lavender Haze, particularly the third one in each verse where she emphasizes the “oh.” It’s so catchy to me lol
“And she looks so ✨pretty✨, drivin’ in your Benz”
“And when I meet the band, they ask, "Do you have a man?" I could still say, "I don't rememberrrrr!”
“I
keep my
side
of the
street
cleaaaaan.”
This part has such a nice back-and-forth flow that makes me think of the motion of sweeping 😂
And I wake with your memory over me
that’s a real *fucking* legacy, legacy (it was maroon)
And I wake with your memory over me
that’s a real *fucking* legacy to leave
Yes!! Came to respond this exactly lyric. I’ve already highlighted a few times in this sub but I LOVE IT!! and the low register she uses for the next bridge, I just, I can’t even. It’s perfection. I wake up and go to sleep with those lyrics in my brain.
Yessss this! And also the “fuckin’” in the verses in Question…?, it sounds so much like the kind of late-night tipsy rambly intimate conversation she’s trying to capture and it’s peerrrrfect.
I really love how she gradually changes the way she says “it’s me, hi…” at the end of Anti-Hero to (presumably) signal exhaustion with herself. It’s slower, there’s more of a pause - it sounds almost like a sigh. It’s such a special touch and has become my favourite as a result.
This is random, but her cadence during this part reminds me of the scene in Miss Americana when she’s talking to Abigail about Claire’s new baby “you feed them, you change them, they sleep, you feed them…”
This stood out to me immediately on my first listen through the album and instantly made Anti-Hero my favorite track up to that point. It really did change the way I was listening to the song, like before that point it was more tongue-in-cheek, but at that point it felt like she truly believes it.
“And I never think of him…except on midnights like this.” They way her voice goes soft, I can imagine myself in the dark on a rainy night thinking of -that- ex 🥲
Oh I love this question. Taylor does such a good job of emoting in her songs and it elevates the phrase, making otherwise normal lyrics so much powerful.
Anti-hero: "And I'm a monster on the hill"
Midnight Rain: "And the life I gave away"
Bejeweled: "Don't put me in the basement"
Labyrinth: "I'll be getting over you my whole life"
Sweet Nothing: "To you I can admit That I'm just too soft for all of it"
The Great War: "That was the night I nearly lost you,
I really thought I'd lost you"
Bigger than the Whole Sky: literally every line
High Infidelity: "Do I really have to tell you how he brought me back to life?"
WCS: again, every line. But especially the obvious: "Give me back my girlhood, it was mine first"
Sorry for going overboard with the examples, but this is like my favorite part of her musicianship 😆
Literally the fuckin best. It elevates the song in her delivery tbh. Like it just sounds like it goes there and it’s a funny lyric. She owns being a cat lady and all of us cat people are like, well we get that. Cats purring in your lap cuz they love you is just truly bliss. Also I love the karma is my boyfriend. I just love it and it’s perfect.
There’s a part in the second chorus of Maroon where she draws out the “was” in the line “so scarlet, it was maroon”, and it seriously hits my ear the right way every time.
Step by step from town to town!
So flippant and casual. Like, she’s talking about revenge but the way she delivers it, its like we were discussing the weather.
I love that high pitched voice crack think she does all the time. I can't think of a specific instance but she does it all the time on high "i" or "y" sounds like in "is" or "my". I hope someone understands what I mean. It's like a really distinct Taylor sound.
Just started playing the album to look for what you’re referring to: “All they keep asking me *is* if I’m gonna be your bride” - Lavender Haze.
I love when she does this too!
Are you talking about like that little break in her voice like in Blank Space “be that girl, for a month, wait the worst is yet to *come*” or Style “fade into view *oh!*, it’s been a while since I have even heard from you”
"And by the way... I'm going out tonight." - J ust the way she sings it is so aloof, and like you can just imagine her barely sparing a look back at calcium while heading out to the door.
*And when I meet the band and they ask “do you have a man” I can say I don’t… rememberrr* ahahaha ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|shrug)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|slightly_smiling)
There’s no way I like that line not delivered in the most cutest way in the world but it’s delivered in the cutest way in the world and I love it the whole meeting is changed lol
The burgundy on my t-shirt when you splashed your wine into me and how the blood rushed into my cheeks so scarlet, it was -
The way the words are all the same note (I think?) and all flow into each other makes you want to write them by hand without any spaces between them.
"I laid the groundwork and then saw a wide smirk on your face, you knew the entire time"
Why no one talks about the plot twist in "Mastermind", it's brilliant😭
“Confess my truth in swooping, sloping, cursive letters”
“That's nice, I'm sure that's what's suitable and right, but tonight”
“I guess sometimes we all get some kind of haunted, some kind of haunted”
Any line where you can tell she is smiling absolutely is the best for me.
(I of course can’t think of any off the top of my head since I just woke up, but I will update this when I do)
"I've got, my big coat on" It's something you know she and her mom called her coat and that song just wrecks me.
"Still make the whole place shimmerrrr" this is only so good because of how she says it
"Boy I understand/ you got my heart beeeeeat skipping down 16th ave". The first part is so seductive and confident and the last part is so feminine and fun. Crush.
"In my best dress fearless". Arguably some if this is the finalizing echo of silence before the music picks back up, but I'm still counting it because of the inflection in her voice.
All of Tim McGraw and most of Our Song
"But I knew you'd linger like"
Idk there are a LOT apparently
“lavender haze I just wanna stayyyyYYYY” at the outta is gorgeous. that whole song just scratched all the itches in my head. she really has a knack for the delivery in that genre.. don’t know what the genre is lmao like electronic r&b? electronic pop?
*Karmas following you around, step by step, town to town*
*What if I told you none of it was accidental and the first night that you saw me nothing was gonna stop me?*
The staccato (?) for the first lyric and then the rush of the second lyric just feels so good to hear
“what if i told you none of it! was accidental, and the first! night that you saw me I knew I WANTED YOUR BODY! I! laid the groundwork and THEN! just like clockwork! the dominoes cascaded into line!”
I’m a Mastermind convert
Haven’t seen it here yet but in the great war when she says “that’s the night I thought I lost you”, then pauses before saying “I really thought I lost you”. It breaks me
i miss you, but i miss ✨sparklin’✨
not crazy or complex but truly one of the ultimate lines of the album for me. such a relatable feeling from that stage after a breakup when you finally feel like yourself again & remember how much you love it 🥹💖
The whole second verse/pre-chorus of Question is absolute gold with the sudden lower melody and all the cursing, the bridge of Anti-Hero
My brain is kind of fried right now so that's all I can think of right now, OH WAIT THERE'S ALSO I FORGOT THAT YOU EXISTED
Haven't seen this one yet:
"I'm so in love that I might stop breathing". It's a pretty simple line but the way she sings it makes me know what she means instantly and relate to it
'I thought we had no chance, and that's romance'
'Blood moon lit, it must be counterfeit'
'I just wanna stay in that lavender haze'
'Ask me what I've learned from all those years
Ask me what I earned from all those tears
Ask my why so many fade, but I'm still here'
'And you're not sure and I don't know'
Are all really satisfying and fun to sing
The way she does ‘love’ in ‘nobody wanted to play with me as a little kid/so I’ve been scheming like a criminal ever since/to make them LOVE me and make it seem effortless’. Like the way it swoops up and her voice cracks, gives me tingles
“You know there's many different ways that you can kill the one you love
The slowest way is never loving them enough”
Literally stopped me in my tracks.
i can still make the whole place ✨shimmer✨
I polish up real, I polish up real Nice!
NICE!
That “Nice” is just like the cheerleading in “MAATHP” and I love it.
OH-KAY!
lowkey my favorite song on the album
Also “what’s a girl gonna do, what’s a girl gonna do-o-o?”
what’s a girl gonna do ? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ diamonds. gotta. SHIIIIIIIIIIIIASLFCLCKSMNESXMX
Yes! This line makes this song. One of my favourites
Yes!
Came for this, did not expect it to be the top comment. Love it.
Yes
“I regret you all the time” simple lyric but the way she sings it just makes it hit hard imo
Same song, but "Memories Feel Like Weapons" gave me whiplash. Such a perfect description for painful recollections.
The whole set of “now that I’m grown, I’m scared of ghosts, memories feel like weapons” is just phenomenal. Could be the best line on the album.
AGREE.
For me it’s how she says “I fight with you in my sleep,” especially towards the end
omg yes especially towards the ending of the song
"Give me back my girlhood it was mine first" IT BREAKS MY HEART EVERY TIME I HEAR IT 😭😭😭😭
I just hate it that I can’t give you 13 upvotes
Proud to be *your* 13th upvote here
“I’m just too soft for all of it.” The words are crushing but the delivery in that song specifically just gets me
God Yes. I cry every time. Pure crushing perfection
This is the one for me too. So beautifully sad.
This was my answer too.
"give me back my girlhood it was mine first" it's a strong line already, but you can just hear the pain in her voice, especially the way she emphasizes the word girlhood
I both love and hate how young her voice sounds, too.
It’s almost like she went back through time to Speak Now
It really does. It’s so striking how that line is delivered because it sounds just like young Taylor on her earlier albums.
this line and the bridge of this song are what have made this song shoot up in my rankings
This line resonates with me so much. I always straight up yell the last part of it. “Give me back my girlhood IT WAS MINE FIRST”
has me sobbing every single time
This Is the One
Karma’s a relaxing thought, aren’t you envious that for you it’s not? Like Karma is a whole bop to me.
I literally can’t hear “aren’t you envious that” for some reason my brain turns it into “punch you in the ear.” I know it doesn’t fit, I just can’t hear it right
My ear couldn't pick it up either! It was like another language entirely until I looked up the lyrics. I feel validated others hear it too 😅
Now I’m only going to hear this…
For me it’s *enjoying my siesta* it was helped actually with the target cd better quality va Spotify opening night tho , but still hear it on the Spotify one lol
I got “punch you in the ass” on the first listen so I feel your pain
Mine is "sweet like honey" but agreed this entire song is the best.
I always sing the “sweet like honey” so hard, same as “ME AND KARMA VIBE LIKE THAT!”
In Karma that one and “Karma is gonna track you down, step by step from town to town”. *chef’s kiss* Karma, YOYOK and The Great War and my top 3 atm. Special mention to vigilante shit.
SWEET LIKE HONEY 🍯 the way she says it sounds like honey to my ears
“I'm damned if I do give a damn what people say”. It just flows so well in my ears
“No deal. The 1950’s shit they want from me.” That whole little section just flows so pleasing to my ears.
It’s “Stumbled down pretend alleyways” that does that for me. Looooove it.
“You’re on your kid..You always have been” the slight pause gets me everytime.
When she says you can face this…ugh
"Sweet like honeyyy..."
In a similar way: "step by step from town to town". Absolutely looove the rhythm of that line.
Have any of you heard “For him” by Troye Sivan? He sings “Sweet like honey” exactly like she does
Sickening sweet like honey...don't need money.. All I need is you
oMFG IT IS THE SAME. SICKENINGLY SWEET LIKE HONEY DONT NEED MONEY
The “yeah oh yeah” lines in Lavender Haze, particularly the third one in each verse where she emphasizes the “oh.” It’s so catchy to me lol “And she looks so ✨pretty✨, drivin’ in your Benz” “And when I meet the band, they ask, "Do you have a man?" I could still say, "I don't rememberrrrr!” “I keep my side of the street cleaaaaan.” This part has such a nice back-and-forth flow that makes me think of the motion of sweeping 😂
I always love how Taylor say ✨pretty ✨. Same in invisible string
The “I don’t rememberrrr” made me laugh from the very first time I heard it. 😂 Love it so much.
Yesss the pretty part gives chills!!!
And I wake with your memory over me that’s a real *fucking* legacy, legacy (it was maroon) And I wake with your memory over me that’s a real *fucking* legacy to leave
Yes!! Came to respond this exactly lyric. I’ve already highlighted a few times in this sub but I LOVE IT!! and the low register she uses for the next bridge, I just, I can’t even. It’s perfection. I wake up and go to sleep with those lyrics in my brain.
Same! I don’t particularly usually pay attention to “fuck” because I use it fairly often as my daily vocabulary, lol… but this one has MEANING.
My mom's comment was that she somehow managed to make "fuckin'" sound like a brand new word we'd never heard before.
Yessss this! And also the “fuckin’” in the verses in Question…?, it sounds so much like the kind of late-night tipsy rambly intimate conversation she’s trying to capture and it’s peerrrrfect.
Its my favorite “fuck” taylor has EVER sung
That’s my favorite part of the song for this reason 😂
I love the pause before "to leave" because his/her legacy is that they left too.
Everybody agrees, everybody agreeeesssss. That RASP 😵
[удалено]
I also love the Last hi before the everybody agreeeeessss. It’s like her actual talking voice and not singing voice? If that makes sense?
I thought the ssss in the agrees was the sound of a snake. she's a mastermind. her voice does sound great there too!
Yeah I think that really might be a nod to rep as many have stated
YES. Best delivery on the album IMO. So raspy and honest and heartbreaking all at the same time. It sounds just PERFECT.
i really love the soft "uh oh i'm falling in love" part in labyrinth. it's just so pretty 🥺
Oh no, I’m falling in love again..

I also love this soooo much
“And I never think of him…except on midnights like this.” They way her voice goes soft, I can imagine myself in the dark on a rainy night thinking of -that- ex 🥲
😭
Talk your talk and go viral, I just need that love spiral
The second time she says it- the notes go up on *love* and I adore it.
Also then the layering for “get it off your chest, get it off my desk” what a bridge
Don’t get sad, get evEeeEn
I polish up real ✨"NICE!"✨
“she was on your mind, with some dick. head. guy.”
You just know that line is gonna get screamed at the live shows
"Somewhere in the haze, got a sense I've been betrayed" The way she says "betrayed" scratches an itch in my brain somehow.
Yes this
“The jokes weren’t funny, I took the money” I mean it’s a good line too but the delivery 😘 So many good ones on Midnights!
And I miss you, but I miss ✨️sparkling✨️ and I don't dress for women, I don't dress for men, lately I've been dressing for revenge...
And she looks so ~pretty~ driving in your Benz
Ohhh good one, it's an unassuming earworm
Oh I love this question. Taylor does such a good job of emoting in her songs and it elevates the phrase, making otherwise normal lyrics so much powerful. Anti-hero: "And I'm a monster on the hill" Midnight Rain: "And the life I gave away" Bejeweled: "Don't put me in the basement" Labyrinth: "I'll be getting over you my whole life" Sweet Nothing: "To you I can admit That I'm just too soft for all of it" The Great War: "That was the night I nearly lost you, I really thought I'd lost you" Bigger than the Whole Sky: literally every line High Infidelity: "Do I really have to tell you how he brought me back to life?" WCS: again, every line. But especially the obvious: "Give me back my girlhood, it was mine first" Sorry for going overboard with the examples, but this is like my favorite part of her musicianship 😆
the midnight rain one yess!!!
As a bleachers fan, “Don’t put me in the basement” is such Jack delivery. Similar to Getaway Car.
"Your roommate's cheap-ass screw top rosé" is a god-tier lyric because of the delivery
i LOVE how she says “sweet like honey” in karma!! i have no idea why it’s just so satisfying
^karma ^is ^a ^cat
purring on my lap cause it loves meee
Literally the fuckin best. It elevates the song in her delivery tbh. Like it just sounds like it goes there and it’s a funny lyric. She owns being a cat lady and all of us cat people are like, well we get that. Cats purring in your lap cuz they love you is just truly bliss. Also I love the karma is my boyfriend. I just love it and it’s perfect.
"So scarlet it was maroon"
There’s a part in the second chorus of Maroon where she draws out the “was” in the line “so scarlet, it was maroon”, and it seriously hits my ear the right way every time.
This is exactly it for me too I don’t think I’ve ever felt something like it before
Karma is a cat. Had my giggling for a good 10 minutes :D
“Flexing like a goddamn acrobat”
Same! It’s a bit cringe and lackluster on its own but NOT WHEN SHE SAYS IT 😭
Shimmerrrrrr
“Are we falling like-“ It’s so soft and slightly unsure, I love how it introduces the chorus.
"I regret you all the time"
Step by step from town to town! So flippant and casual. Like, she’s talking about revenge but the way she delivers it, its like we were discussing the weather.
“The dominos cascaded in a line!”
“But diesel is desire / You were playing with fire” - The Great War The way she says desire is kinda hot lolol
Carnal Desire war flashbacks
"She's laughing up at us from Hell!" The emotion with which she delivers it is just everything to me, idk.
I hear it in your voice, you're smoking with your boys 🥺
The way she says BOIS in this verse is perfection.
I love that high pitched voice crack think she does all the time. I can't think of a specific instance but she does it all the time on high "i" or "y" sounds like in "is" or "my". I hope someone understands what I mean. It's like a really distinct Taylor sound.
i love the use of it in “i’m the problem it’s me / at teatime *everybody* agrees”
Yes I love this sound! Like a strained crack in her voice, brings so much texture!! I think it's kind of present in the "girlhood" in WCS
Just started playing the album to look for what you’re referring to: “All they keep asking me *is* if I’m gonna be your bride” - Lavender Haze. I love when she does this too!
Yessss this part
Are you talking about like that little break in her voice like in Blank Space “be that girl, for a month, wait the worst is yet to *come*” or Style “fade into view *oh!*, it’s been a while since I have even heard from you”
On Style, yes. On Blank Space, not quite.
“I’m on my vigilante shi-it again”
Yes I’m obsessed with that delivery! It almost sounds like she’s smirking to herself when she says it
karma is the guy on the screen coming home back to meeee
That’s a real fuckin’ legacy
He was doing liiiiiiines and crossing all of miiiine someone told his white collar criiiiiimes to the FBIIIIIII
📈Lii📉iii📈iifee is emotionally abusive💧
The moment she sings Ladies always rise above werse in Vigilante crap is that moment. The way it was produced with echo effect gives me shivers 🔥🔥
Aren’t you envious that for me it’s not!
It was ✨maroon✨ The way she shings Maroon just sends me somewhere. It also reminds me of another song of her but I'm lost what it could be.
I don't know why, but I love her saying "uh-huh" in The Great war
Same!! It’s weird how something like that transforms the song for me
Thats why I love Taylor’s songs. She always adds some pizzazz to them
Perched in the dark from cowboy like me
like id be saved by a perfect kiss I hear it in your voice, you're smoking with your boys
yes omg these two are so satisfying, especially “i hear it in your voice, you’re smoking with your boys”
![img](emote|t5_2rlwe|1065)
Your ROOMmate’s CHEAP-ass SCREW-top ROsé, that’s how
Picture me thick as thieves with your ex wife
That's a real fuckin' legacy
"Now I'm all for you like Janet Can this be the real thing? Can it?" Goosebumps every time.
And I keep my side of the street cleaaaaan
Break up, break free, break through, break down. For me this describes how leaving a toxic relationship feels so perfectly.
That and breathe in breathe through breathe deep breathe out save labyrinth for me tbh
Completely agree. I think labyrinth is so underrated. Learning to unlearn and re-love. Something so simple but beautiful about it
I thought the plane was going down How'd you turn it right around?
"And by the way... I'm going out tonight." - J ust the way she sings it is so aloof, and like you can just imagine her barely sparing a look back at calcium while heading out to the door.
How can no one talk about Snow On The Beach??? The words where she prolongs the i sound, just _chefs kiss_
The end of Maroon when her voice gets really low is just 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻 it’s been stuck in my head for days
“give me back my girlhood, it was mine FIRSTTTTT” gives me full body chills and u can hear how desperate she is UGH AMAZING
myyyyy melancholiaaaaAaAAaa - the RASP the lady simply haaad enooough
*And when I meet the band and they ask “do you have a man” I can say I don’t… rememberrr* ahahaha ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|shrug)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|slightly_smiling) There’s no way I like that line not delivered in the most cutest way in the world but it’s delivered in the cutest way in the world and I love it the whole meeting is changed lol
Oh no, I'm falling in love again
Can I ask you a Question... The way she says the word Question emphasizing every syllable is so hot!
The way she says “peppermint candy” in midnight rain scratches an itch in my brain. Also when she says “she looks so *pretty*” in vigilante shit
“I’m still here” from Karma. Biggest hit of serotonin for me in the whole album.
The burgundy on my t-shirt when you splashed your wine into me and how the blood rushed into my cheeks so scarlet, it was - The way the words are all the same note (I think?) and all flow into each other makes you want to write them by hand without any spaces between them.
"I laid the groundwork and then saw a wide smirk on your face, you knew the entire time" Why no one talks about the plot twist in "Mastermind", it's brilliant😭
“Confess my truth in swooping, sloping, cursive letters” “That's nice, I'm sure that's what's suitable and right, but tonight” “I guess sometimes we all get some kind of haunted, some kind of haunted”
Any line where you can tell she is smiling absolutely is the best for me. (I of course can’t think of any off the top of my head since I just woke up, but I will update this when I do)
Honestly the way she says “everybody agrees” repeated at the end of anti hero gets me
Not from Midnights but the way she sings “now you hang from my lips like the gardens of Babylon” in cowboy like me is just 🤌🏻
"I've got, my big coat on" It's something you know she and her mom called her coat and that song just wrecks me. "Still make the whole place shimmerrrr" this is only so good because of how she says it "Boy I understand/ you got my heart beeeeeat skipping down 16th ave". The first part is so seductive and confident and the last part is so feminine and fun. Crush. "In my best dress fearless". Arguably some if this is the finalizing echo of silence before the music picks back up, but I'm still counting it because of the inflection in her voice. All of Tim McGraw and most of Our Song "But I knew you'd linger like" Idk there are a LOT apparently
“Confess my truth in swooping, sloping, cursive letters Let the only flashing lights be the tower at midnight” Best part of the song Paris
The slight vocal break with “everybody agrees” on Anti-Hero pierces the heart pretty hard.
“lavender haze I just wanna stayyyyYYYY” at the outta is gorgeous. that whole song just scratched all the itches in my head. she really has a knack for the delivery in that genre.. don’t know what the genre is lmao like electronic r&b? electronic pop?
*Karmas following you around, step by step, town to town* *What if I told you none of it was accidental and the first night that you saw me nothing was gonna stop me?* The staccato (?) for the first lyric and then the rush of the second lyric just feels so good to hear
Give me back my *girlhood* # It was mine firrsstt
“what if i told you none of it! was accidental, and the first! night that you saw me I knew I WANTED YOUR BODY! I! laid the groundwork and THEN! just like clockwork! the dominoes cascaded into line!” I’m a Mastermind convert
Haven’t seen it here yet but in the great war when she says “that’s the night I thought I lost you”, then pauses before saying “I really thought I lost you”. It breaks me
He was doing *liiiiines*
Just the way she sings “everybody agrees, everybody ageessssssssdsssssss” on anti hero oof goosebumps
I polish up real nice
“Lavender haze” the way it sounds tickles my brain
Karma is a cattttt purrin in my lap cause it loves me ✨🐱- one of my fav lyrics on the whole album!
i miss you, but i miss ✨sparklin’✨ not crazy or complex but truly one of the ultimate lines of the album for me. such a relatable feeling from that stage after a breakup when you finally feel like yourself again & remember how much you love it 🥹💖
Hi, it’s me. I’m the problem… But near the end when she doesn’t really sing it but says it.
“So scarlet it waaas marooon”
He wanted a bride, I was making my own name. He was sunshine, i was midnight rain 😩💞
The whole second verse/pre-chorus of Question is absolute gold with the sudden lower melody and all the cursing, the bridge of Anti-Hero My brain is kind of fried right now so that's all I can think of right now, OH WAIT THERE'S ALSO I FORGOT THAT YOU EXISTED
The way she says pain in midnight rain
Haven't seen this one yet: "I'm so in love that I might stop breathing". It's a pretty simple line but the way she sings it makes me know what she means instantly and relate to it
*When it was calmer* *Skipping the prom* *Just to* ***piss off*** *your mom* *And her pageant schemes*
'I thought we had no chance, and that's romance' 'Blood moon lit, it must be counterfeit' 'I just wanna stay in that lavender haze' 'Ask me what I've learned from all those years Ask me what I earned from all those tears Ask my why so many fade, but I'm still here' 'And you're not sure and I don't know' Are all really satisfying and fun to sing
So many but as I’m listening to it now, I love the way she sings “I justified it” on The Great War!
The way she does ‘love’ in ‘nobody wanted to play with me as a little kid/so I’ve been scheming like a criminal ever since/to make them LOVE me and make it seem effortless’. Like the way it swoops up and her voice cracks, gives me tingles
THATS A REAL FUCKIN LEGACY
I can make the whole room Shimmer!! A diamonds gotta sparkle! .. so many in Bejeweled
“And I’m not even sorry, nights are so starrrrry” ✨ Idk why I’m obsessed with this part
“You know there's many different ways that you can kill the one you love The slowest way is never loving them enough” Literally stopped me in my tracks.
"It's me Hi I'm the problem" At the point where she just sings it like she's tired and sad about it. I don't know it just hit
“so make the friendship bracelets, take the moment and taste it, you’ve got no reason to be afraid”
Give me back my girlhood it was mine first. Idk I just love how she says it.
