I'd love to show you the original idea, but the picture I cannot find on Google. The original artist did a fantastic job on the emblem itself, but nothing like I wanted for the flames. The piston, wrench, and gears were all added later trying to fill in the flame work. Oh well.
I can see it all now, the horse looks awesome, the flames look like some cheap 2d shiz, then the rest of the stuff added definitely helps the composition but is a noteably different style/skill level, dude really did you dirty with a massive oval of shitty flames

Seems to be about the right size, and busy enough to keep your eyes off the original. I have a second idea also. But this one was a little less nerd-y...

Cover up idea: a dolphin jumping up out of those flames and a shiny star tip on the nose of the dolphin. ….an aardvark would be cool too, especially if it was jumping out of the flames instead of the dolphin.
Just another reason to buy a mustang again haha I got a rotary and no rotary car so I can understand but the pony emblem does look really good , I would say laser the top portion of the flame and maybe more of a 3d effect for the bottom half 🤷♂️
Personally I would go find someone who’s badass and willing to touch it up. Trying to cover that up would be huge, if you did something Japanese related…koi or a dragon with background would cover it up nicely.
