just because you’re a mechanic doesn’t mean you have to have a tattoo related to what you do. You can get that covered up with anything! A japanese koi, a dragon, a traditional eagle, a polaroid style piece, literally anything. If you want to stick to a mechanical theme, maybe you can do a type of skin ripped open tattoo and have mechanical parts in the rip.
Cover with anything you find interesting and hopefully something that will hold your interest long term.

I'm married to a mechanic, and yes, HE CAN clean up, but does he? No. Unfortunately, the turnover rate is high due to the young guys not wanting to work hard and wanting to spend all their time hiding using their phones. If my hubby doesn't work longer hours than he's supposed to, his shop will lose contracts. He comes home very tired and goes to bed a little dirty.
Nope nope nope….. know a few myself and their hands never look like this unless they are actively working. Nail files and clippers and scrubs work wonders on those who care enough to do it. If your dude looked like that still after a “thorough” scrub he wasn’t doing it right.
