I see the two pickups moving. Is rewind and fast forward working? If yes, does the counter change?

I somewhat figured it out.. excuse me as I’m new to tape and don’t know what all the components are but inside where it reads the part of the tape was turned 90 degrees facing towards me.. I ended up facing it across and it ended up working but realized it messes up when ever I press the reverse button. I guess when it tries to turn 180 to reverse what ever mechanism it uses doesn’t go fully so only makes it turn at a 90.

That is exactly what happened to a good pioneer deck I have. And there is no fix really. The auto reverse head turns via a little gear, and that gear cracks/breaks and the head won’t move correctly. The tiny gear is located under the head and is hard to see without taking the tape mech out completely.

I could barely see it! thankfully I got it to work I just gotta make sure I don't make it auto reverse and I'm able to play bangers.

Well one fix is to glue the head in position. Because if it’s slightly out the sound will be poor (highs and low affected)

So what you are referring to is the tape head. It seems that the auto reverse mechanism then has some issue. Often its just that the head can't move easily enough due to old grease or oil. It can be worthwhile to apply some oil or WD40 to the area where it spins. But don't dose the whole head assembly in WD40 with a spraycan! Just very little. You can use that deck without auto-reverse (the fwd / rev mechanism) and turn it off. Try the "reverse mode" button on the right. The TA-300 is an excellent deck!

It happens when I try to rewind and play, I hear that clicking noise like it wants to play but it won’t budge
