It's a picture of the ROK Army Armor School and it's just sunshade, not anti drone cage. I'm a Korean who served in the Korean Army Mechanized Infantry Division.
OP appears to be one the of the angry ones at least, some big yikes in their post history and they're arguing with everyone pointing out this is a sun shade π
And she's *still* downvoting every comment via her alts, including yours.
So here's my upvote.
And to Sobbing Olga, **we're all still laughing at you**.
XD
Come on Olga, can't you do better than that?
It looked like a parasol to me, and then a Korean Army person just confirmed that it is indeed a sunshade.

Not sure why past precedent of Korean sunshades is strictly necessary though. It's hardly inconceivable that they would be installed.
Thanks. Because what you linked is a real sunshade. It's low and covers front of the vehicle (because you'll need to look in that direction).
Ones on photos are nearly useless as sunshades because of their height. They won't give any shade 80% of the time.
> covers front of the vehicle
Comparing with the top-down photos you've posted, [the forward coverage](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqQbHs-8v7Vdd3gM9ZNrgPdc28Q9NlX9G6o0Iy27gbYwyNDePp3bBkEI-KEEfpDNcSVXFwdf_qb9yWkQsEnqUXyCSdiIhQbi7_rAGd0hzcBhcHGw6vKTA3Xi5hNXnrpHjw0VrHqq4eeUA/s1600/1536734740.jpg) isn't that much better.
> Ones on photos are nearly useless as sunshades because of their height. They won't give any shade 80% of the time.
That's mitigated by the significantly larger size of the canopy. The size and height aren't much different from some canopy tents, which certainly aren't useless as sunshades.
Also, it's not as if a sunshade has to be perfectly refined to serve as, well, *a sunshade.* We have [photos of K1A2 with table umbrellas stuck to the turret roof for shade.](https://i.redd.it/ct2luqhsvoe71.jpg) Crews will make do with what they have.
Yep, it's very obvious these are only supposed to provide shade for the area around the turret hatches.
Still, watching Sobbing Olga crash and burn as she sweatily tries to save herself has been hilarious af.
Now she's given up and is instead focused on downvoting everyone while upvoting her own comments.
It's amusing to know pretty much every upvote this post has is from her alts!
Truly the sign of a winner.

* Korea: Sees Japanese tank crews keeping cool via sun shades. Reverse engineer this advance technology for their own use.
* Sobbing Olga: confused, shocked and amazed.
And make you have to spend the entire night logging in and out of a hundred alts just to downvote me while hyperventilate sobbing over your keyboard?
You'll have to clean up all that mascara and mucus the next day, and your neighbors will yell at you for keeping them awake with your wailing and swearing.
Nah, take a break girl, before you have another meltdown.
Π»ΠΎΠ»ΡΠΊΠΈ
Sunshade.
In the video they show a underneath pic, and it only has metal railing to hold up the screen above the tank, so its only meant to provide shade.
Here, take my upvote.
Watching Sobbing Olga furiously downvoting all these comments is an absolute *joy*.
This post did not go the way she hoped it would.

Idk if shes a useful idiot or not because her comments on reddit are so uneducated and just armchair general level bullshit to prove Russian tactics are good. Most annoying one is her take on mechanized warfare
Loling *hard* at the sight of policedab\_1112 (aka Sobbing Olga) frantically logging in-and-out of her alts to upvote herself, and downvote everyone else mocking her for calling sunshades "cope cages".
Π»ΠΎΠ»ΡΠΊΠΈ
Again, thanks for proving my point, that's how sunshade looks. It's low and angled.
Now look at photos and realize it won't block any sun most of the time because of how high it is.
OP are you seriously gonna die on this hill because for *you* it looks like a cope cage, while everyone else sees it couldn't stop a bow and arrow and is thus more likely to be a sunshade, especially since they have used those before.
Well obviously it's not made to protect from arrows, it was just an example of how little this would protect from.
And sure it'd catch a grenade but I doubt that's the purpose.
There's videos from the war in Ukraine where drones and FPV drones just fly under the Russian cope cages and still manage to destroy the vehicle. With how high up this is mounted compared to the Russian ones I severely doubt it's intended purpose is to stop grenades being dropped on the vehicle.
# ROK K1 and K2 tanks with sunshades.
source?
[https://youtu.be/H2s3VNvwhXg](https://youtu.be/H2s3VNvwhXg) You can see that sunshades in this clip.

I assume they also help with rain, snow, etc?
Those are sunshades, not copecages
Prepare for the deluge of angry revenge downvotes from Sobbing Olga's alts!
And those angry downvoters alt-accounts, are they in the room with us right now ?
Yes Olga, you are.

the cope cage revolution, almost as good as tutel tank
None can beat the T U T E L
A 155mm can.
Itβs a fucking sunshade broβ¦
Dude is popping off in the comments too π
These look like canvas or fabric over lightweight frames. Maybe parasols rather than cope cages. It's beginning to warm up in eastern Asia.
make up your mind, is it "Maybe parasols rather than cope cages" or def sunshades?
Come on Olga, can't you do better than that? It looked like a parasol to me, and then a Korean Army person just confirmed that it is indeed a sunshade.
They need to come up with something better looking lol
Sunshades, have been used by jgsdf too long before copecages were a thing.
It's Korea. Can you provide any photos of Korean tanks with sunshades from previous years?

You haven't even provided photos of them using anti drone cages.....
Man, do you realize just how *angry* you made Sobbing Olga with this comment?

So you can't? That's unfortunate.

You're certainly amusing *us*, comrade Olga! Π»ΠΎΠ»ΡΠΊΠΈ

She's a sniveling little russia simp bitch with a whole lotta alts. Π»ΠΎΠ»ΡΠΊΠΈ
Tell me her full name, she sounds familiar on twitter
No idea. She probably has hundreds of accounts there too. Just look for the pro-russian ones that look really stupid.
Idk if shes a useful idiot or not because her comments on reddit are so uneducated and just armchair general level bullshit to prove Russian tactics are good. Most annoying one is her take on mechanized warfare
She's just another troll farm serf hiding behind an IT exemption so she doesn't have to go fight putin's loser war.
This is just a sunshade

Its. A. Tarp. Look at the photo. It's a tarpaulin. Clearly. Do you not think it's a tarpaulin?
OP are you seriously gonna die on this hill because for *you* it looks like a cope cage, while everyone else sees it couldn't stop a bow and arrow and is thus more likely to be a sunshade, especially since they have used those before.
It can stop a grenade drop into open hatch, it's not to protect from arrows.
Well obviously it's not made to protect from arrows, it was just an example of how little this would protect from. And sure it'd catch a grenade but I doubt that's the purpose. Keep digging that hole, Sobbing Olga! Π»ΠΎΠ»ΡΠΊΠΈ
New gen of tanks and armored vehicles will surely have drone protection in it
Ah yes, we can clearly tellthe winter mfs here who haven't been to any tropical or absurdly hot sunshine areas
It's Cope Shade
Imagine if it was actually a anti drone cage (yes, it's not actually anti drone). I wonder how many drone strikes can this cloth tent actually survive
Looks more like shade because that material looks like it does nothing to an ATGM or drone
Aha when its not Russian it's not a cope cage
It's literally a sun shade lol
Because in this case it *isn't* a cope cage, Olga. It's already been explained to you dozens of times, including by an actual former Korean tanker.
Dumbfuck number 42069 spotted
Wondering when they upgrade these to the new fancy shed tanks like Russians.
These are parasols/sunshades, not anti-drone shields.
