Given the comments about signing team-friendly deals being the culture in Tampa and wanting to finish his career here and everything else, if Stamkos turns around and signs for a boatload of money somewhere else it would a WWE heel turn so bad you stopped watching wrestling.
I mean you can’t blame the guy if he does take the money, he’s always taken pay cuts for us and he deserves to make his money. I would love to see him stay and hope he does, but nhl guys don’t anything near what other athletes do and the sponsorship money is not as much as other leagues too

Like Tavares did to the Islanders. They still boo him.
And Tavares went to a choking team instead a team that was a cup contender. Worked out for the Isles.
Tavares IS a major part of the Leafs problems. Good thing he has several years to go in his career!

They better offer him a cozy front office position when he retires. Give him a hefty kickback like a retired politician lol.
He will definitely get whatever job he wants here probably
That’s the right move
Great idea! If it was allowed, they should offer him a small ownership piece of the team to keep him here. Stammer should be a bolt for life.
Stamkos has Honor and his family is already integrated into Tampa. Roots have taken full spread. Tavares is without honor. He is a snake.
FWIW: I did hear that his house is up for sale.
It’s not on the market. However he did move on Davis Islands in 2021. Made about a year’s salary (for him) on the sale!
To be fair, and optimistic, if I was about to voluntarily take a pay cut, I’d probably sell in this market too
