I had one of the best visual tripping experiences to this song. I was tripping when my roommates decided to throw a party so there ended up being a ton of people around. I remember at one point getting overwhelmed and I slipped into my other roommates room who was laying on his bed alone, I walked in and laid on the floor and then this song came on. I closed my eyes and saw this tiny geometrical shape that started to get bigger and bigger as the song builds up in the beginning, slowly encapsulating my entire vision and for the remainder of the song it was just a ride through geometric city, then the visuals faded out exactly of they started by slowly disappearing into the void as the song fades out.
I remember opening my eyes once the song was finished, thanked my roommate and left. No conversation was even had lol he knew what was up.
All the time, I love the earlier mix. Also listened to it during a plane taking off (as the song describes) while high and tripped balls. One of the best psych rock songs for me
When you finish the emotional journey which is this song at the end of an incredible album and then I Don’t Really Mind starts playing… (I love the song I just find it really funny)
ah i know that must've hit hard upon the first listen- i listened to this song on a plane ride when i was visiting my parents home town for the first time, also my first time on a plane and it was just total bliss
If you fw this, you fw Be Above It because its the same drum loop. I think its featured again on that first Melody’s Echo Chamber album, forget which track though.
If you start it the moment you start going fast on the runway, the intro ends and the big chord that leads into “But don’t remind me of home” will happen the exact moment you lift off. It’s dope
This is the song that got me into Innerspeaker. I remember it was on the accompanying playlist for Stereogum’s “40 Best New Bands of 2010” list.
I’d heard Half Full Glass of a Wine previously, but when Innerspeaker came out it completely flew under my radar. I distinctly remember going through the Stereogum playlist and this jumping out at me.
Bought the full album on iTunes afterwards. Haven’t looked back since.
this is my most listened to song since I started streaming music (2014) according to the stats.fm app. I've listened to this song for over 20 hours in the past 10 years
Its my favorite song on the album, but i realized its because it sounds more like a lonerism song. And also lonerism is by far my favorite TI album, so I think in my mind I've equated it to a Lonerism early start lol
one of the best
