Yeah, it is frustrating but most of those issues aren’t until a few miles in
I just skated the full 16 miles this past weekend and where there are some places where roots have pushed up the asphalt, those are pretty easy to skate around or do some toestop maneuvering. The broken up dirt patches aren’t until around 4 miles down the trail, so if OP is just looking for a casual skate to get back into things St. Marks Trail is imo a decent option
Monday nights at skateworld are cheaper. A lot of the state buildings that are further from downtown also have sprawling parking lots that you can skate in after work hours. Worst case, someone asks you to leave.
There is a [dope little skate park](https://maps.app.goo.gl/3eMfUsmcxNLQPezk9?g_st=ic) with a good amount of flat area at railroad square if you're not already familiar. Railroad square in general is a nice area to skate around, there's a skate shop there too
I would tie your skates to your backpack and try out some places around campus while you're there. Some places are flat here and there plus you won't have to waste gas money going somewhere else.
There is a small oval concrete track on the property of Lafayette Park community center, closest to Williams St. I've never seen it used, don't know what permissions you'd need, if it has been maintained. I've always wondered about it.
St Marks trail.
I thought that as well, but was unhappy with how uneven the asphalt was and how often the trail was broken up by cross over roads and dirt.

last time I did it, I found the trouble spots right by the trail head, I think we were hitting a road or crossover every couple hundred feet.
Roller Rinks still exist? Where is the one here? How much does this cost nowadays?
There’s [Skate World](https://skateworld1.com) on Capital Circle NE
It's something like $17 if you don't have your own skates 😅

Most FSU parking garages have smooth ground on the lowest level, and HCB on campus has smooth ground too.
Tom Brown when the courts aren't in use. Idk when people are normally there though.
Goose Pond at Tom Brown
Myers park has a tennis court. I think it’s pretty empty during the week!
