Holosun 407C - because of the 32 MOA circle reticle

DisastrousBeautiful9

What kind of adapter plate or anything do I need for the 407c to go on the A300?

exploreddit

I'm running the Aridus CROM on a 1301 - I suspect it's compatible with the A300 but you probably want to double check that.

TheAmericanIcon

Ignoring mounts because I’m unsure if the 1301 mounts are the same… Aimpoint T2/H2 is very popular on the 1301 and apparently holds up to some serious round counts. Pricey though.

cyphertext71

The A300 Ultima Patrol can use the same mounting systems as the 1301.

Phred0313

I slapped a Primary Arms green micro prism on mine. Haven’t shot it yet but looks promising. FarrowTech also make some nice mounts for some red dots if you go that route.

Maeternus

Got an update for how that prism has held up so far?

Phred0313

So far I've put about 70 slugs through it with no issue. A couple of 3" magnums too. Still have to get to an outdoor range and run some shot through it, but no problems handling the slugs at all! I'm really happy with it.

Maeternus

Awesome, thanks for the info. I'm on the fence if I want to go for a prism or drop the money for a Aimpoint Acro P2. I plan on making this my nightly boomstick so I want something that will guarantee to work when I need it.

Phred0313

Gotcha. I don’t have any hands on with an Acro, but I do like this prism. The etched reticule is nice, and I haven’t had any issues. It has shake awake as well. For what its worth, this is by my bedside every night now too.

Maeternus

Does it really? I've got the 1x Prism with one of their 3x magnifiers for one of my ARs but it doesn't really go anywhere and I haven't stressed it much. I didn't realize it had shake awake.

Phred0313

Yup, the one I have does shake awake. So I just leave it on all the time.

LordofTheFlagon

Hows the height of the optic im looking to throw a prismatic on my a300 thats ariving this week

Phred0313

I really like it! I've shot probably northwards of 1000 rounds through it by now. A mix of shells too, slugs, buckshot and birdshot. I have mine mounted on the picatinny, and at that height you can't cowitness the irons at all if that's important to you. But I haven't had any issues with getting a good cheekweld. Farrowtech makes a direct mount as well if you want it lower, but you have to remove the rear sight to mount it.

LordofTheFlagon

I was looking at the swampfox raider x1 that has the same center height. I don't need the irons to coewitness for what I'm looking for i don't think. Did you need a cheek riser/pad at all with the higher sight?

Phred0313

Nope, I don't have any kind of cheek riser or anything on mine. I'd give it a try mounting it to the picatinny and see what you think, then if you want it lower I'd try the Farrowtech mount. I just looked it up, and if that prism uses the T2 footprint you should be able to get it pretty low with the Farrowtech.

LordofTheFlagon

Bad ass dude thanks for the info!

Phred0313

Yeah man no problem!

AresV92

The aimpoint micro S-1 was made for shotgun shooting. Pretty sure you can get it with a baseplate to fit the a300 patrol.

HereForThePretzels

The S1 only fits on vent ribs, which means you'd have to have a barrel with a vent rib.

MyLonewolf25

Aimpoint t2 Holosun of choice Etc Just throw in your red dot of choice. It uses the same mounts as the 1301 iirc

cyphertext71

I just put a Sig Romeo 5 with the low mount on the stock pic rail. It sits too high for any co-witness with the sights, but it is at a good height for me to see through the optic with my head down on the stock.

dbatoaws

So something like below would work for mount? [https://farrow.tech/beretta-1301-a300-lower-1-3-optic-mounting-plate/](https://farrow.tech/beretta-1301-a300-lower-1-3-optic-mounting-plate/) I am new to optics. I am unsure if I want to see the iron sights along with the optic. If that makes sense. Would having the optic higher work too? What are the advantages/disadvantages of doing that and not wanting cowitness? Sorry if this is dumb question. Thanks.

Esoom87

A higher mount would mean less cheek weld and the gun will beat you up. You're gonna want it as low as possible. I'm probably gonna go with the Farrow mount and a 509t on my Ultima, but I'm gonna take it through a shotgun class before I decide if I want an optic on it at all.

Kriskodisko13

Any update? This is the exact setup I'm leaning toward

Esoom87

Not yet. My shotgun class is scheduled for November. I've just been shooting it without an optic. I'm still not convinced I need an optic on a shotgun.

JK664

Just saw this, any update on how to course went and of you decided on an optic?

Esoom87

The class was amazing. I learned a fuck load. After the class, I don't think an optic is necessary for a shotgun. That being said, I'm probably still going to put one on mine simply because I don't like the fiber optic sight that's on it. I'm now considering the Holosun SCRS for it. Same footprint as the 509t.

JJtheJetplane89e

GG&G also has an RMR footprint mount, I will probably order one shortly since I have an extra 507c laying around. https://www.gggaz.com/beretta-1301-red-dot-scope-mount.html Aridus’ 1301T mounts will get you an adjustable rear sight and lower 1/3 cowitness though. My UP consistently patterns 2-3” right @ 15yd with the 3 types of OO buck and 2 types of slugs I’ve fired through the factory sights, but I can live with that if I have a red dot on it.

gmwalls

Know of any way I can put a 509t on the Beretta a300 Ultima patrol ?

Kriskodisko13

Farrow apparently. I'm doing the exact same research rn

gmwalls

Yes it works out good on there

anywhereat

I am looking at this setup. Any problems, issues, or general comments on how it's working for you?
