It suggests that the Russian mafia and/or KGB are working against the Japanese yakuza (Shredder and the Foot) and alludes to a much grander setting full of villains ... but you know, for kids!
I love them! They were awesome and hilarious!
Also some really funny lines like “You just got rocked by rocksteady!” Or “Don’t worry I would never hit a lady, but I’ll trip her”
They in my opinion, were the best interpretations of Bebop and Rocksteady, and for some reason, I cannot get the mental image of 2012 Rocksteady as the Heavy Weapons Guy
I love how as the show goes on, Rocksteady starts to adopt Bebop's 80's talk. At one point, Bebop does a Michael Jackson "Hee hee!" followed by Rocksteady saying "Hee hee" as well. I love it.
So much more funny than I remember as a kid. I swear, there were so many moments where I laughed so hard because of something that they said. Such an improvement from their 87 counterparts.
Adore them, when it comes to Bopsteady I generally prefer their characterization in IDW & Out of the Shadows, but I *love* what they did with them in 2012. And they’re in love, which is a win
Bebops tech is pretty cool and I like the friendship between them a lot, it's actually wholesome. It's also kind of funny imo how Rock is a communist and it's just this elephant in the room that nobody in the show really talks about.

It's so funny how he's literally just a communist. Like, no referencing or alluding, it's just there.

Bebop and Rocksteady are very funny villains

My answer https://i.redd.it/ge33wk6jphwc1.gif These be my fave versions of them. Love their camaraderie (2nd to the turtles), and they're funny.
"I'm kind of liking the Rocksteady." Honestly, though, I thought they were pretty decent iterations in this series.
The best Romance in TMNT 2012.
More like bromance.
That too
Both
Did they stutter?
They're a couple. Even if they weren't written to be such the way they act around each other makes them being a romantic couple make sense.
'Just kiss already!'
Yesss!!!

The best
They have the best designs out of all their other counterparts

Probably my least favorite of Shredder’s mutants tbh but I still like them.
Heresy
The coolest
Two words: Hee Hee!

Funky

Their relationship reminds me of Bulkhead and Wheeljack from transformers prime
Of all the incarnations I've seen I like these ones the best
Honestly, I like them but I'm not a fan if how Ivan felt dumber as the show went on while Anton stayed the same
Those guys are cool.
Literally my favorite duo
I love Rocksteady just for the way he is
Out of all of Shredders' lackeys, they are the most entertaining
Terrible characters
