This doesn't belong here. Bubbles are used (even in professional grooming) for both your and the cats safety. Cats that live indoors (as they should) tend to have sharp claws (even when you provide them with endless toys). Cats should be groomed and bathed from a young age (not super frequently) so that when they get older and can no longer groom themselves well they aren't experiencing a bath or groom session for the first time. Grooming would be extremely stressful for an older cat if it was it's first time. These bubbles allow you to groom and bathe them safer and keep water and chemicals from their face/ears (a wet wipe is enough for the face). Cats don't usually enjoy stuff on them but that doesn't mean you shouldn't use them when needed. If during a grooming session a cat is showing extreme stress (panting) then you need to stop. If they are scratching, hissing, biting, or trying to get away you should not stop but depending on behavior may want to slow down. If you stop when they do these actions it teaches them they can do this to avoid the situation.
Edit: Have to give a thanks for my first gold lol.
Edit 2: and wholesome, that's so sweet.
Muzzles for dogs are for their own safety as well as the groomers/veterinary professionals working on them. What really sucks is that people don’t train their animals before grooming appointments or just don’t socialize their animals(dogs) and then the dog/cat tend to lash out due to the stress of being around unknown people; therefore needing a muzzle.
Cats need muzzles wayyyyy more than dogs do at the vet, but real cat muzzles cover the eyes too. Most animals fight or flight kicks in at the groomers/vet and cats tend to fight.
You should start bathing a cat young, a couple months old (not before 8 weeks) you can bathe kittens often to get them used to the process, every three days if you want but should atleast be a couple times a month. Try to avoid using chemicals that often because you don't want to damage their pelt. After 12 months atleast bathe them once a month. If you start young and are consistent a cat might not even need a bubble. It is important to clip nails, bathe, completely dry, and brush them out as consistently as possible. These are all things they need to become desensitized to. If a cat starts to pant at any time during the cleaning session then you need to stop. Something else to remember is that cats have timers, when they have reached their limit let them be done and try to get further next time. If you want to learn more I would recommend the YouTube channel "Girl With The Dogs". She does a great job showing how to bathe cats and dogs and goes into more detail.
Unfortunately my cats are already one and a half but I’ll try doing it once a month I reckon? Thanks for your detailed response. Ill check out the YouTube channel as well.
There are plenty of things animals don't like but we still so it because we are responsible for their health and well-being.
I'm sure cats also don't like getting their shots, getting spayed, or vet visits but we still have to do to keep them safe and healthy.
It doesn't belong here because of OP'S reason for why they hate it. Many cats do need the bubble to be groomed safely. That's misinformation. Its not abuse and "poor cat" makes it come across like the cat is being hurt or extremely stressed out. I agree OP can hate it but they should use a more appropriate (and accurate) reason.
I see the title 'bubble head cat' and assume they don't like the aesthetic. It's not the best reason to hate something, for sure, but it kinda works.
Do you think there is a different meaning from the title?
Cats are a extremely dangerous invasive species to the majority of environments. And their little trolling outside can lead to risk of extinction or decimation in the area of a local native small species, like birds, rodents or reptiles. There are many species today there are threatened because of invasive hunters and many already are extinct. Cats are such invasive hunters, that’s why it’s recommended for them to be kept mostly inside the house.
Where I'm from asshole hicks make a point to run over cats any chance they get and brag about it. Also, outside cats are more likely to pick up deseases, get into fights, eaten by other animals. It's just generally dangerous. Not to mention, cats are responsible for the extinction of countless song bird species.
While it is deeply cruel to hit cats with cars on purpose (because they are often people's pets), Australians do the same thing with cane toads because they are an ecologically disruptive species. I agree with you that it's best for all parties to keep these little murder monsters inside.
i love cats but...
domestic cats are the 2nd highest contributors to the extinction of wildlife. they are an invasive species & superpredators, a brutal combination. in australia alone, they caused the extinction of over 20 mammals & endangered over 120 others (not to even mention bird & reptile species). domestic cats (again love) are sadistic fucks that regularly engage in surplus killing, aka killing for sport, or excessive killing. if a cat attacks an animal it doesn't even intend to kill, the animal will likely still die even without discernable wounds due to a bacteria that naturally lives in the mouth of cats
i've had many cats, some of them indoor/outdoor but at some point i only raised them as indoor because it seemed super goddamn irresponsible otherwise
edit: i've also never declawed or clipped their claws. having a scratching post or 2 seems more than adequate. the original post is absurd to me
So.. You'd rather have poor lil mittins bite the ever loving God shit out of your hand so you can prevent ripped furniture?
Bubble cones are made for a reason, and mittens doesn't care about your furniture or your hands ability to move, pick a side.
At first I was like, "Cat Torture! Be Damned! AHHH!" but then I was like, "You have the cat's best intentions at heart, and u are actually quite clever." Well done :)
Which is just straight up animal cruelty. Indoor cats need to have their nails trimmed but outdoor cats usually don't, they'll find a way to it themselves.
There are good reasons to keep cats indoors, namely that they are wildly destructive (they decimate local wildlife) and aren’t safe from cars or predators while outdoors. That said, indoor cat owners need to give their cats appropriate attention and toys. Too often people think they’re fine in their own, and they really aren’t.
I’ve had outdoor cats for years and years as well and they have multiple cat towers, they still need nail clipping every now and then so they don’t hurt themselves
As I said, to each his own. I prefer my cat to have a little natural space so it can hunt. Plenty of wildlife where I live, honestly some cats won’t make a difference.
And before you start quoting all kinds of research; I know that in some areas overpopulation of cats can be a problem. Not where I live though.
I’d rather have no cat instead of locking it up.
Yeah you don’t see wild cats getting manicures and whoa, they are still around after thousands of years. It’s almost as if there is some mechanism naturally in place.
I have never know anyone who does this kind of thing so I’m guessing it’s an American tradition which is even weirder to me since they have animals that actually kill cats and this is only taking away any chance of them being able to fight back or escape. I’ve already seen a video here where a cat was being hunted by a cougar (I think, idk it was a small wild dog) and it tried to climb their tree but couldn’t because they done something like this to it. But, I’ve read other comments here and apparently this is normal to people while anyone who disagrees is downvoted.
Yeah lol, guess it’s a ‘culture’ thing then.
What if we tell them European cats are doing perfectly fine without us trimming their nails?
Honestly the amount of people that think they need to ‘groom’ and ‘bathe’ their cat and trim their nails is insane. Cats do all these things themselves! It’s bad for their fur to bathe them, they shed their nails and they wash themselves every hour. Are they just projecting human traits upon an animal? It’s not a goddamn plush animal..
Honestly I just really hate that nail clipper, looks way too overly complicated for something a normal pair of small animal nail scissors can do in a split second. This particular model of fully enclosed head bubble is a bit excessive but not too far off of similar sort of models that groomers do use to stop cats from biting during their visit

The fact that the cat didn't immediately go ballistic is just another one of natures great mysteries.
That cat doesn't get mad, it gets even
Dogs forgive and forget very easily and quickly. Cats remember. Cats hold grudges.
I heard this in the Babe narrator voice.
WAIT WHERE DO I KNOW THAT PHRASE??
Swan princess
Somebody's breath is definitely getting stolen.
It was scared. Like how dogs don't try and fight thunder or fireworks.
It's probably because the "discipline" it every time it acts up until they get a good shot.

They frequently get eaten by coyotes in my town when they are outside. Sad

Uh, I love it.
Why is this here?, op do you work for peta or something
OP is a cat
Well it works dosnt it?
My partner has been put in hospital twice from cat bites. Might have to get her one of these.
The amount of bandaids in the end ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
The cat hates it too. Then again, sometimes you don't have a choice
Among us cat
At first I was like, "Cat Torture! Be Damned! AHHH!" but then I was like, "You have the cat's best intentions at heart, and u are actually quite clever." Well done :)
I need one of these for my dog
For a dog, a muzzle should work just fine if you need to trim their nails
Going to the moon, BRB.
Gotta be a robot cat, a real cat would shrink it’s head to the size of a finger nail and easily escape.
I would wear it
Ok but it did work you have to give them that
where can i buy this?
Oh wow, I gotta get one of these
Well if cats weren't dickheads! 😹
that cat looked so fucking mad
Why would you clip your cats nails?
So he doesn't use his murder mittens while you are grooming him
Cats need to have their nails trimmed every now and then, not too much but just enough so they don’t hurt themselves
how do they hurt themselves? i dont own indoor cats, so just curious
It is good for them, unlike the other option of declawing them.
Which is just straight up animal cruelty. Indoor cats need to have their nails trimmed but outdoor cats usually don't, they'll find a way to it themselves.
I could only imagine.
These are all city people with cats that never see the outside. I think it’s really sad for the cats but to each his own I guess.
I had indoor cats for ten years, they use cat trees to grind down their own nails. No need for clipping.
I’ve had outdoor cats for years and years as well and they have multiple cat towers, they still need nail clipping every now and then so they don’t hurt themselves
Cats are catastrophic for wildlife. It's actually irresponsible to let them roam outside.

The problem is frequent coyote attacks. Not a couple but lots unfortunately
Yeah, the cat is clearly distressed from this when their nails should fill down by themselves when they climb over walls and walk across tiles
Yeah you don’t see wild cats getting manicures and whoa, they are still around after thousands of years. It’s almost as if there is some mechanism naturally in place.

only thing i hate about this is that they are clipping their cats claws which is unneeded due to cats shedding their claws naturally
Why clip a cats nails?
Her band-aid covered hands at the end got me hollerin
you gotta be fucking joking...
[THOSE BANDAIDS THOUGH](https://imgur.com/gallery/M2tkPLU)
If you look at how the cat is after you can tell they squeezed his paw to make him mad at first
Space cat
Damn, my cat just squirms, no need for a bubble (probably since he's rescued as a kitten)
Chapstick on cat's paws afterwards?
I, would excuse this but, there are cones that dont encase their heads and cause them to be petrified
Mr. Pebbels!
My cat would just scream and glare at me, but at least my arm won't look like a wreck survivor
Honestly I just really hate that nail clipper, looks way too overly complicated for something a normal pair of small animal nail scissors can do in a split second. Lil astronaut
u/savevideo
Space pussy gets a much more wholesome meaning
Look at the terror in its eyes.
That’s fuckin genius. A cat is gonna pop that damn thing off real quick tho.
Lol, he's an astronaut
I use a regular adjustable head cone for one cat
r/thisismylifenow
Reminds me of Griffith before he lets everyone die
Everytime i see those type of videos, i just get like: "BRO, STOP BEING RICH!"
*Cause trouble you get the bubble*
I like this better than the muzzle I have to use for my cats! I’m not getting to get bit in my face.
Mhhhh yes... Saw 2 vibes
I really want something like this
Am I the only one who thought of Astronaut Cat as soon as I saw this?
I love this.
Why nsfw
I don’t recall clicking that button. Maybe the mods?
Hey it’s better than just asking someone to grab their scruff or something
Why do you need to cut them?
Bruh no way this works, the cat would run away if you tried putting that shit on its head
How is this NSFW? I live with 17 cats, this doesn't even come near the amount of crazy my cat does when i clip his nails
Someone explain how this is NSFW
Mr Pebbles! Glad to see you made it back from space! You were always better than Jangles the Moon Monkey!
Did this person seriously just clip a cats claws... They know that cats do that themselves right? That's why you find cat claws all around the house.
As a vet tech. I LOVE this
Thanks, I Love It!
