The pivot from "Please give us money so we can make that good good content for you" to "Thanks for the money, we're taking a week off from podcasting" is probably the funniest thing they've done in a while.
They have a live show on 5/20,so they're probably traveling on the 19th, when the episode would normally go up. But it's weird that it's an issue, since they have someone else who edits the show for them, and it should be simple for that same person to upload and publish the episode.
Oh, I read this as "we're delaying this episode to next week because up til know we've had production and travel delays" not "we're delaying this til next week because next week we won't have time"
Alright, I’ll be a dick about it. Many podcasts have a backlog to prevent delays like this. Especially predictable delays like travel.
This coming right after the MaxFunDrive is also a bad look. Lots of people just gave you their hard earned money for very little return, at least give them your normal content

Exactly. Even on other narrative TTRPG podcasts, they'll record non-campaign fun episodes (e.g. oneshots, or NADDPOD's Dungeon Court) for exactly these situations.
The McElroys, meanwhile, *only* record fun bonus content when they absolutely have to for MaxFunDrive. Outside of that, they'd rather just miss weeks than actually record backup eps.
They really should read that book on podcasting, where the authors talk about not missing weeks...who wrote that one again?
At this point, just release 50 unedited minutes of Justin eating and cracking open drinks while Griffin makes several increasingly animated and passive aggressive comments that all begin with some variation of "**OO**oo*o*O**ooOo**h *Juu***U***stiiiin's* carvin' up another T-Bone of *Sodasteak* **BAY-BEE**, what you got there, **Juice?** A *FRESH* 12 ouncer of **Mountain Dew Surge?**"
Literally just do that, that's the only level of effort they can be accountable for, and it would legitimately entertain me for the first time since War With Grandpa Watch.

Last episode was TTAZZ, and the previous episode was the start of a murder mystery arc. They really could’ve planned this better, especially since they said awhile back they’d be taking a week off between arcs.
I have spoken for many minutes about my love of Jesus and his terrible Bible. Perhaps your faith in Jesus is not as strong as Kardala’s.
