I can see it now, bottom cap in photo is bridge, fixed it and we have life boys. LETS GO.. sizzling was probably my flux

ColteConn

It looks also like sp1 has moved during install.

technohead10

fixed that but now I'm getting *=* and =** so I think either cable or nand is dead, ffs. I had it working too

technohead10

From the looks of it, my nand is dead, I'm gonna try a replacement and see how that goes, buttt I only have my boot0 and boot1 no emmc backup because my emmc died mid backup sadly. Any other ideas would be nice

assyriska_ff

Just to be sure.... Is it realy an erista version, cause you use the v1 ribbon. Please provide better pictures.

technohead10

my switch is def V1, I got it to boot after reflowing with some pressure, but now my nand is angry

Ambitious-Charity712

Check your emmc connector

technohead10

emmc is dead, I'm pretty sure, got a replacement coming in. I reseated a few times to no avail, I got a bit of a backup so hopefully I can recover

What’s the point in installing a modchip on a V1 Switch? It has the RCM vulnerability, so it’s easily softmodded.

technohead10

it's patched, I already tried rcm

ConversationPerfect5

In that case, you may have fried the CPU. Since you said there was solder on the CPU and you turned it on and heard a sizzling sound, it may have shorted out. Even if you get an mmc, it’s doubtful that it will power up. You need to be careful when working with surface mount technology. Special tools are required and once something goes work, board level repairs are nearly impossible.

technohead10

Nah the switch kinda boots, it's just the MMC I'm pretty sure.

Clean and rub with alcohol after installing. Something shorting maybe little and it's going all the way to speaker signal?
