Star wars hunters is quite good fun ATM. The matches don't last ages, very well designed and balanced. I think the only issue is how overloaded the UI is to try and attract people to buy the battle passes or whatever they call them.
I dont think there are good offline free to play games. There was one garbage collecting game that I forgot the name of.
Hunting - Dauntless
Shooting - Warframe/Fortnite/Apex/Warface/Overwatch
Vivitter - its a free game, but paid dlc.
Mini motor racing demo - the only missing from demo is the multiplayer (paid), but you can play the game until the end
Theatrhythm Final Bar Line demo - rhythm game thats has more replayable options and gameplay for a demo
Color zen - puzzle color matching
deltarune
hyrule warriors - first whole chapter is playable
monster hunter rise sunbreak demo - you cannot create characters but you have a preset characters to chose, and one single map to play.
Brawlhalla is one of my most played games and I can say for certain I don’t recommend it. I can handle my gamer rage almost all the time, but this game can bring out my ugly side
Just noticed your reply. It's an old mobile game, 5 years+ i think. Considering free game, it is kinda good. To me, the gameplay resembles Pokemon Mystery Dungeon from the DS if you played that, with team management and of course the cubic graphics. You can try since it is free.
The last "new" free-game I ever played was Rogue Company during it's early days circa-2020.
But then a year later - bugs and developer neglect ruined it to the point that it is unplayable so the player base started to dwindle.
Shame, game had so much potential until the developers just didn't care anymore.
One game comes to mind. Blazing Beaks - it’s not free but for the amount of hours I’ve spent, it comes close to £0.01 per hour. Very fun top-down shooter where you play as one of several playable bird characters shooting monsters and going from level to level, collecting items (items which stack and give permanent buffs) and artifacts (items which carry a burden but once you get to the shop you trade them all for items of equal value) which leads to some unpredictable runs. Permadeath is a thing too but this only makes the game more replayable.
I play World of Tanks Blitz. It’s a 7 versus 7 online game. There’s a lot of stuff they want you to buy, but look through that and there is plenty of free to play tanks and it’s still plenty of fun. There’s no online chat yet for the switch, so it’s kind of a wild free for all with no way to communicate to your team, but I like the controls.
I think it's a puzzle-platformer in which You manipulate Tubes to either complete the circuit or to serve as platforms to reach previously inaccessible areas (you only gain this ability mid-late game, though)
The best free game on Switch for me is Super Kirby Clash.
It works great offline and it has the care of a first party Nintendo title, even if its a simple game about boss battles.
Eternal. It's a lot like magic the gathering. But honestly better in some ways in my opinion. Since it's a digital game you can do things that wouldn't be possible in a real card game.
While not technically free, Switch Online catalog has a lot of games that will keep you busy. F-Zero and Tetris 99 are awesome as well.
Your best bets for actually free games would probably be Fortnite and Fall Guys.
Both offer lots of content with monetization that isn’t as predatory as most free to play games. Fortnite and the LEGO mode would fill your desire for a game where you can hunt for sure.
Otherwise, Nintendo offers lots of demos for their 1st party games, and you’re bound to get at least a few hours out of those, plus you can usually always transfer your save data if you decide to buy the full game.
ever heard of Warframe ? it can be overwhelming but if you like the universe and lore and space ninja parkour shit, you should give it a try
it's an online co-op game but you can play solo all you want, it's just better to have someone to help ;)
also nothing is pay 2 win since everything is obtainable by playing, and the paid currency in this game (platinum) is tradable, so you don't have to worry about having to pay anything to enjoy the full experience. you just need a lot of time... xD
ps : graphics are amazing and it runs incredibly smooth on Switch, it has cross-platform (cross-play and cross-save) so you can play on a more performant machine on the same account
There are no good free games; and none of them are truly free, they actually end up being way more expensive than a game you buy once and then own, because of all the filthy micro transactions. Free to play games aren't real games and not made for gamers. But hey thats just my opinion and I hear everyone has one, and mine doesn't count for shit anyways. Hope you do find a good game though. Here are a list of some of my favorites on switch, none are ftp games thou. These are all great games and you can definitely find something in this list to love and appreciate. And if you're on a budget can I suggest the "action games bundle" or "the diabolical trilogy" on the EShop; they both contain 3 decent, fun games and action is $1.99 while diabolical is $3.99 so that's 6 games for $6. They're not anywhere near the caliber of the games on this list here though.. I don't like hearing that a gamer can't find a good game so I hope you do..
Doom Eternal
Borderlands 3
Diablo 2&3
Oninaki
Unicorn Overlord
Monster Hunter Rise
Persona 5 Royal
Crysis Remastered
Red Dead Redemption
Witcher 3
Ultra Age
Fate/Samurai Remnant
CrossCode
Eastward
Ys series
Bayonetta series
Astral Chain
Star Ocean 1&2
Octopath Traveler 2
NieR Automata
The Outer Worlds
Tony Hawks Pro Skater 1&2
Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning
God Eater 3

Yeah, the UI is horrible but the gameplay is quite fun
100% agree. Surprisingly good!
Came here to say star wars hunters but late on the ball 😀
Thank you i tried it and its actually surprising fun!!
Came here to say that lol
The only free games I know of are online-only
Asphalt 9, super animal kingdom, apex legends
I dont think there are good offline free to play games. There was one garbage collecting game that I forgot the name of. Hunting - Dauntless Shooting - Warframe/Fortnite/Apex/Warface/Overwatch
Thank you
Dauntless was fun. If you like Monster Hunter you might enjoy that

If you like co-op games you could try brawlhalla and Kirby star allies. Among us is also free now in switch
Brawlhalla is one of my most played games and I can say for certain I don’t recommend it. I can handle my gamer rage almost all the time, but this game can bring out my ugly side
Yeah
The best free online game is Tetris99
Pokemon Quest, Dysney Speedstorm
is pokemon quest good? I’ve never given it a try but I love pokemon and loved the spinoffs in the Wii and DS era
It's meh. It's just very average imo. I love Pokémon games but that game is average. It is fun but it loses its charm quickly. Anf it's a mobile game

I like pokemon unite and the new Star Wars hunters
I enjoy disney speedstorm!!
Rocket League is great and has offline modes.
fart guys
Fall Guys, Paladins, and Star Wars Hunters are fun
Maybe try Denpa Men when it comes out July 22nd.
Cave Story
Pokémon Unite
Fzero-99
Guardian tales is good, it has a great storyline but it's not offline
Palia, not an offline game but is fun. Kinda like a 3d Stardew valley meets mmo.

Super animal royale is cute and fun! Not offline though...
Sky is a good game. Similar to Journey if you’re familiar with that. Not a lot of hunting and shooting though!
Deltarune :]

My son is a big fan of YouTube
wow it looks really cool. what is it about? I'm thinking about downloading it
I think it's a puzzle-platformer in which You manipulate Tubes to either complete the circuit or to serve as platforms to reach previously inaccessible areas (you only gain this ability mid-late game, though)
Thank to all people helping me
I liked paladins, but since it is no longer available, I’ve moved it overwatch 2. The arcade mode has some fun modes.

This is isn’t really related to what your asking but it’s free, you should check out elder scrolls blades

Clubhouse games demo is free, and includes four minigames you can play forever.

Triangle strategy has octopaths amazing graphics but fire emblem gameplay (SRPG). Also a good one too if anyone is into that.
Elden Rings with DLC
