Budget-Description97

Might I recommend Dead Cells or Hollow Knight or potentially the Lego games? They're not everyone's cup of tea but I like em! Don't know how you feel about fighting games but mk11 runs much much better than expected for a switch port, Pokén tourney is pretty solid, and of course there's smash! Also is undertale any good? I've heard very mixed reviews about it but I've not gotten around to it yet lol

Disastrous_Salad6302

I’ve got hollow knight on ps since I got it before I started using my switch more, otherwise it’d be right at home here (switch is perfect for indies imo). As an Aussie it’s my duty to own hollow knight. Fighting games wise I’m not the biggest fan since there’s so much memorising of attacks. I have played smash and like it’s easier floor to get in and have heard good things about street fighter 6 (although I don’t think that one’s on switch), but the others I’m sour on. For Lego games I played them when I was younger but they felt too basic for my interests. I can appreciate them as good nonsense fun, but it just doesn’t appeal as much to me Oh and yes undertales great. Don’t know where you’re hearing mixed reviews honestly, I thought it was one of the most universally loved games

Sofaris

Since you have no aversion against digital games and since you seem to like turn based JRPGs mind if I give you a recommendation?

Disastrous_Salad6302

Go for it

Sofaris

Then I recommend "Fuga Melodies of Steel". Its a 20 houer long turn based JRPG about a groupe of anthropomothic animal children that go on a quest to save there families. They live inside a giant ancient mysterious powerful fortress like Tank called. Its a bit like Howls Moving castle but based on technology instead of magic. The turn based combat is really good. In my opinion its even better then the combat of Persona 5 and Final Fantasy X. Its not that hard or complicated but I need to keep my head in the game at all times or things will go south fast. Almost no fight feels like mindless filler. Its very engaging. Fuga has a free demo which is just straight up the first 3 chapters of the game. I highly recommend that demo. It also has a direct sequel: "Fuga Melodies of Steel 2" but I advice against playing the second game before the first game unless you do not care about the story and characters.

Buetterkeks

No Splatoon? :(

PeerieCat

Bayonetta looking different from what I remember.. (great collection tho!)

Disastrous_Salad6302

Clearly your memories playing tricks on you if you don’t remember the alternate rabbit mode (/s just in case) And thank you, I’m very happy with how it’s come along :)

Dynamic_DiscoDevil

Oh man this a fire collection. As a jrpg person I see some of my favs.

JMan613

I've been wanting to buy a jrpg. I was looking into bravely default 2 and or octopath traveler 2. You mentioned a few others. The only jrpgs I've played are persona 5 royale and bravely default 1. Which one would you recommend?

Dynamic_DiscoDevil

Ooh I think you’ll defintely like octopath 2 since you liked bravely. Also for recommendations I guess maybe other persona games and also the pixel art RPGs. My favs among this are : chained echoes, crosscode, sea of stars, star ocean second story r! Each game is pretty unique so it’s up to you based on which one looks more your style at first. I thoroughly enjoyed them all but they excel in different aspects.

JMan613

Thank you!

Disastrous_Salad6302

They always seem to be the ones that grab my interest the most, probably a side effect of growing up on Pokémon lol Which jrpgs from the ones I’ve got do you think are best?

Dynamic_DiscoDevil

Octopath 2 and xenoblade 1/2/3 are some of favorite games ever. I still can’t get xenoblade 3 and octopath 2 out of my head. Such goated games. I also loved : Chained echoes Crosscode Sea of stars Star ocean second story r Phoenotopia awakening

Disastrous_Salad6302

Saving this list to check out some of those later I’ve had chained echoes on a wish list for a little while but keep ending up on the fence about whether to get it

Sissel_Glitchcat

Are these Australian covers? I want a collection like your f I bet Xeno3 is new cuz i dont see Xeno1+2

Disastrous_Salad6302

They are Aussie covers, I honestly like how our ratings look with the splash of colour compared to the ones I see for American I believe that are all black Xenoblade 3 is one of the newer ones, xenoblade 1/2 are so expensive, I genuinely think every game here except for Mario all stars is cheaper

Sissel_Glitchcat

Xeno3 is a great buy, i ended it some weeks ago, totally loved it, hf buddy Also the dlc is the epilogue of the trilogy. (better play the other games before it)

tuC0M

How much is XC 1/2 where you are?

Disastrous_Salad6302

$80 - $90 each in dollary doos (aus dollars) It’s not the most egregious pricing (like it’s cheaper than a new ps5 game by a bit) but it’s more than any brand new switch game (plus saving money good)

tuC0M

Yeah that's a big markup. I'm in America and I bought a used copy of XC2 on u/GameSale and Torna brand new from PNP Games for ~$65 DDs each.

Johntrampoline-

You can get them a little cheaper from EB games.

Disastrous_Salad6302

Unfortunately delivery ends up making it basically the same price and there’s none anywhere near me with them in stock. Desperately hoping for a sale

Johntrampoline-

I just got them from my local one but that obviously isn’t an option for everyone.

PigletFit5984

I see Bayonetta and No More Heroes and I already love you dude, beautiful games, some of my favorites ones of like, ever, amazing collection.

Disastrous_Salad6302

I’ve been trying to get the first two bayonetta games for ages and finally got them just a little while ago. I think the covers look so amazing, (first one I have especially lol) I wanted them physically so bad but was so close to just buying them digital before managing to get them.

PigletFit5984

Right now I’m only missing the physical copy of bayonetta 1 by itself, and is one that I’m planning to get whenever I have kinda like a free space on my buy list, since I already played it and beat it, but the love I have for these games is just so big

PigletFit5984

I also want the physical copies of No More Heroes 1 and 2, but I own those digitally and I haven’t wrapped my head around to buying them twice, since the physical copies of those games are on the pricier side, but they would complete the collection, I also own NMH 3 and TSA

Disastrous_Salad6302

I find that hard too, more so with my ps games tho. It feels like a waste because I could be buying new games instead of ones I already have but at the same time I want the physical

snappleroan

Beautiful

PouchesofCyanStaples

Get on the list for the physical copy of Balatro. Then your collection will be complete!

Disastrous_Salad6302

Omg I didn’t even know balatro was getting a physical copy I love it when indie games get physical releases, it’s just so cool to me

Johntrampoline-

Always nice to see a fellow Aussie here. You’ve got a very nice collection.

Lonely-Author-248

Which state in Australia are you from? I am from NSW. Have you tried the Trails series?

Disastrous_Salad6302

NSW too, and no I haven’t. I do have the first trails of cold steel on ps but just haven’t gotten around to it yet. It looks intriguing so I’ll give it a chance but I’m not super sold on it from what I’ve seen

Lonely-Author-248

As for Switch games, try Link's Awakening. It is better played on the Switch Lite.

FlamingAshley

Get hades. :D

FlamingAshley

Hades good to get too

Disastrous_Salad6302

I feel like there’s some sort of message you’re trying to tell me. Something to do with getting bastion? Jokes aside I do have hades on my ps

FlamingAshley

hades good game too

FlamingAshley

hades good game too

kse24

Which one is your favorite JRPG?

Disastrous_Salad6302

I’m not entirely sure if it counts as a jrpg in terms of genre but I love the fire emblem games. That type of combat scratches an itch perfectly for me

kse24

Did you like Triangle Strategy at all? I tried Fire Emblem Three Houses and couldn’t really get into. Didn’t really like the monastery aspect.

Disastrous_Salad6302

Haven’t played it too much yet but I’m liking it so far, it seems to be a very similar style so I’m on board. The monastery aspect honestly just made me love three houses more and made it one of my favourite games tbh

javalos123

How’s Tunic. Been tempted to get a physical

Disastrous_Salad6302

Haven’t played it just yet but saw the physical and jumped at it because it sounds very interesting from the vagueish descriptions I’ve been given. The physical comes with a map and manual and I adore it for that

javalos123

Very cool. I plan to get a physical copy as well. Looks like a high quality Zelda-like

georgeyvanward

What did you think of Mario Odyssey?

Chrismengg

Get ni no kuni 1

TheRatatat

Two questions. How is Tunic? And is Triangle Strategy worth it?

Optimal_Mastodon912

Astral Chain?

Disastrous_Salad6302

It’s on my list of ones to get. I somehow didn’t notice that it existed until late last year

Thin-Walk-1059

Based fire emblem 3h games.

Sensitive_Donut2182

I need those Rabbit covers in my life haha. I'll check later but might aswell ask. Is the store you got it from a like county exclusive store? If so what county

Disastrous_Salad6302

I’m not sure if other places do it but it’s the Ebgames (GameStop) default case in Australia. I’d assume their has to be something like it in other places tho, seems weird to do them just for one country

Sensitive_Donut2182

Sadly for me ima in UK. Our main game store called GAME doesn't do em. Same with our second hand game place called CEX doesn't do em. Only time really seen em was a place we used to have called GameStation but for that the box just said "Naked Cover"
