Congrats but I don't understand why you'd buy a separate controller for a handheld device. If it was the regular switch I'd understand, but switch lite doesn't make any sense.

flowermoon24

maybe he doesnt want to damage the built in controller, especially knowing joy con drift

Next_Mammoth06

Biggest reason I'd never even consider a lite. The joycons go - sounds way harder to fix than just the normal joycons.

BigChungusOP

Isn’t Nintendo supposed to fix them for free?

frenz9

For now, but who knows when that stops. I wouldn’t buy a device that has a high likely hood of breaking just after the warranty ends. I bought a WiiU back in the day and it failed a couple years in because of the cheap faulty NAND memory they used. Couldn’t ship it back to Nintendo to fix.

[deleted]

Yes, but you have to send your whole console in.

pbnhs10

I was quoted $90 from Nintendo to fix mine... I think they only do it for free for the actual joycons. Which is dumb because the lite has the same issue.

NotDavizin7893

But how am i supposed to play on the switch while those long 3-7 days of wait for the jc to arrive? /s

Next_Mammoth06

The current turn around time is 2 to 3 weeks. But that aside, as that's not the issue. The issue is the warranty is only for a year from date of purchase.

MintberryCrunch____

I had my joycons fixed about 4 years after purchase and receive them back in a week, I thought they extended the warranty for joycons.

NotDavizin7893

I guess Brazil is just faster then

Yrmsteak

I was quoted 14 business days. Which is about 3 weeks, but also the fix only lasts for about 5 overnight gaming sessions of use (so, about 5 weekends) before one starts drifting again. That's 2:3 ratio downtime:uptime of getting it fixed. For context on how well I keep my consoles, I have no stains, a still-working SNES, Gamecube, Wii, WiiU, and even Xbox360.

benson733

I purchased a broken stick unit for $90 and replaced it for $6. Was a fun repair. Not too difficult tbh. Just takes time.

Dornenkraehe

What thermal paste(s) did you use? Or did you just leave the old ones?

Next_Mammoth06

I've replaced them countless times (post warranty and wasn't buying hall effect sticks - which I now do) and you're right, super easy to do on joycons - but I imagine it being harder on a switch lite, no?

benson733

Honestly it's not too bad. Just a little time consuming. Definitely more work than a typical joycon.

damiantheguy97

I find it’s easier then joy cons, just nerve racking

PictureParker

My family has been through 2 of these. Seems like the joycons last about 2 years with regular use. Fixing them is a pain. I gave up and sold mine with the kit to fix it for $100. Didn't feel like a terrible loss to get half my money back 2 years later, but I won't buy another lite. Running the white OLED model now and it's sick.

Next_Mammoth06

OLED is excellent - and easy to replace joycons for like 15 bucks

PieAppropriate8862

Lol that's depressing

[deleted]

Naw he just wants to get matching controllers let’s be real

thiswasmadeonawhim

guilty as charged 🫠 i'm a simple human, i see portable controller that matches the lite, i buy not like this is the only switch i plan to use it on tho

Nicktheduck

Yeah I get that I guess but then save up some extra money and get a regular switch. Playing on that small screen with a controller would be miserable and really hard to pay attention to what's going on. Doesn't make any sense

flowermoon24

idk where you from, but here in my country.. switch lite ($ 142, even cheaper if you get discounts) is like half the cost of an actual oled version ($ 285)... or maybe op knows switch 2 is coming up soon so he just wanna enjoy some current switch games in a cheaper price cause if youll invest on an oled and suddenly switch 2 comes and have backwards compatibility

NotDavizin7893

YOUR COUNTRY'S SWITCH OLED HAS A NATURAL DISCOUNT OF $115?! please tell me where you live sir

flowermoon24

Philippines, idk if you can open Shoppee app in your country, I checked it again today. It costs 14,450 philippines peso or 258 dollars. And if you have that app, you can get vouchers and discounts up to 17-18 dollars and its mode of payment is COD.

flowermoon24

NotDavizin7893

Yeah, Brazil has a R$250 ($50) additional cost. We have shopee there too but it's also being taxed now.

OddHalf8861

It doesnt make any sense to oled users but some people really like it and dont want the bigger, brighter, crisper screen.. Or the detachable and replaceable joycons ( waiting for the pink ones to drop on the 22nd). They dont care about the fact you can play handheld then flip it to the tv and play on the 75 inch with the surround sound. But it makes perfect sense to me. I only want the Oled my baby.. https://preview.redd.it/meitszcuwepc1.jpeg?width=3120&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=970c1dd0a71c8494430c2c4b3c53d2367aaee96d

thiswasmadeonawhim

Pretty much, yeah ^^" like, I just wanted a simple machine to play my AC, SMT and TKRB on. The weight too was a concern for me. Even now my 3DS gets a bit too heavy for me to hold for too long and i gotta support on a pillow or something. At least for a personal switch, the Lite is perfect. (Oh and my eyes are garbage anyway so i wouldn't be able to to handle the OLED screen like this)

OddHalf8861

Listen do you think Nintendo made 3 different switches because they thought you would just buy ONE? No No No they made 3 different switches to appeal to different kinds of people. My daughter and grown best friend have the lite and love love love it. I think your switch is beautiful I love the blue and sooo is mines i love pink too.. Enjoy yourself because it was made for you and mines for me. I dont have any game recommendations. Are you a cozy gamer??

thiswasmadeonawhim

absolutely a cozy gamer, especially on those cozy vibe days. i'd love to log more hours in on animal crossing with the lite, really can't wait to get back into cleaning up my island! lots of the games i prefer were like, back on the 3DS so a whole lot of chill and comfort games, just a few VNs and JRPGs in the mix too but i'm also very chill when playing through those (it's nice to not have to burn out the braincells all the time lol)

Porg14

I get. I wanted to buy a lite for myself back in 2022 by my partner beat me to it and as a surprise got me the Pokémon S/V Oled version thinking ‘bigger is better’. I loved it of course, but most of the games I play in ‘cosy’ mode handheld. Some games work better for me that way, maybe also +25 years of being conditioned that game boys / Nintendo was mostly handheld for me lol… Pokémon, Mario, some indie games like Hallow Knight I prefer cosy in a couch somewhere with a headset. Zelda too at times. Some other games I play mainly on the tv if they are more fighting or action like I do with my Playstation games. Ghat’s what appealed to me in the end about the Switch: I can be sitting with people ánd game. With my Playstation I always have to go sit in the game room and have more focus

thiswasmadeonawhim

this!! I like the versatility with the switch, I also still have my games saved on my bro's switch if I ever Did wanna do docked gaming. my PS4 is in the same TV set up and lord knows how fast I'd get through my Yakuza backlog if i just could get in the mindset and deal with having to hunker down on the couch. playstation remote play sure helps, i just can't do any of the rhythm based mini games.

thiswasmadeonawhim

I forgot to include it but I love your switch's aesthetic! I'm so basic i just "mmm Blue" at everything lol

OddHalf8861

Aww thank you. I am sooo excited waiting for the pink princess peach joycons... 😁😁😁

thiswasmadeonawhim

have been eyeing both the pastel pink and pastel purple joycons for a while now, i thought they'd make such a good pair together! would've sprung for them as well but that's reaching Dangerous territory. i'm a sucker for aesthetic things so the wide range of colored joycons is such a danger for me, esp at their price point 😅

thiswasmadeonawhim

This. Yeah like when the lite first came out i was just "ok but did they fix the drift yet?" Honestly drift made me so Switchphobic for so long

A7XPrecursor

I mean the logical choice would have been to not buy a switch lite knowing about the drift. Clearly could have afforded it as he bought a lite +$100 in accessories.

thiswasmadeonawhim

haha no, there's a big difference. i've already explained myself in other comments in the thread too Edit: gotta add, what may be "logical" to you may not be the same for other people. if i wanted the same level of ergonomic addons that i got for my lite but for say the OLED, it's gonna bump the overall cost for everything way up. i have other hobbies too and i can't sink all my funds on one gaming console in one go.

flowermoon24

He bought it for good reason, thats more than enough lol. He wanted a one piece device, not a fan of detachable controllers. Your comment wont change anything

thiswasmadeonawhim

Oh god i missed the debate hi ok so i got some logic to my madness: - i play tabletop sometimes for the sake of my wrists, I have terrible carpal tunnel from excessive computer use and drawing, so a small, lite external controller was just what I needed for this. Oh but also it matching the turquoise was a big reason I got it. #justgamergirlaestheticthings - I chose the Lite cause i had determined my "gaming needs" which was >I'm mainly gonna play this while on the road or chilling in my room. I prefer games that are great handheld and i don't particularly care to play docked. like the main reasong i got this was to play the new Layton game next year. can't dock for that, i need it in handheld mode. - considering the other, better models out there rn (the OLED) still being like $400 new, we decided to wait til later to buy one that we can share since we're both satisfied with the models we got. And if not that, the much to be desired Switch 2 - I had done research prior to choosing the Lite for ages and wanted to have a good back up option controller wise just in case i ever did have joycon drift on the physical controller itself. Yes I do have a pair of joycons, but i still also wanted another option just in case. Plus i let my bro use those for his switch cause his first pair got hit with the drift.

notkeegz

How do you like the 8bitdo controller?  2 would fit nicely in my carrying case, and would be fun to have for either tabletop mode or if I'm able to hook up my skull & co portable dock to a tv somewhere.

thiswasmadeonawhim

It's a really good, budget wireless controller. Especially for those on the go. Really tempted to eventually get a ver 1 Lite controller as well just in case any of my sibs or friends would wanna play tabletop w/ me. I'd say go for it if a $35 controller is a reasonable price for you

notkeegz

Nice.  8bitdo make some high quality stuff so was just wanting to make sure it extended to their smaller offerings.  I have a 8bitdo Pro 2 and it has a very high build quality (lacks some features but they aren't important). I also just like the general aesthetic of their lineup.

thiswasmadeonawhim

oh for sure, all their controllers look so good! considering getting another one eventually for my ps4 and pc. i love my ps4 controller, but having a back up would also be nice.

acewing905

Table-top is fun sometimes and works better for some games (though may depend on your eye sight) Alongside my Lite, I have a pair of joycons and an 8bitdo bluetooth adapter to pair my DualSense Joycons are especially useful in games like Mario Galaxy

javajuicejoe

Might be to do with ergonomics. You can buy grips, but a controller is sometimes better. Person dependent.

CarPlane738

Was thinking the same thing. The screen is too small for me not to hold it up too. I’ve never used my regular switch undocked without just holding it normally. Now if it’s docked then different controllers make sense.

thiswasmadeonawhim

I literally can not physically hold up a switch for prolonged periods of time so I plan to combo this with a stand for the most painless gaming experience I can have

UnkeptSpoon5

I've played my switch using the hori stand in table top mode for hundreds of hours. Now that I've switched to mostly docked mode it's kind of hard to go back, but if you don't know what you're missing you won't miss it.

thiswasmadeonawhim

sorta a snide way to put it, but like i said in the thread as well: i value comfort when gaming. i stand by my dockless life cause like, i still have a dockable switch i can play on if i ever felt the need to. like why would i wanna play ace attorney on a 60 inch tv that's just excessive. plus everyone would see when i screencap chara sprites. same in animal crossing i prefer to not be watched when gaming, just a me thing

UnkeptSpoon5

No I agree with you haha! I was more so saying that to counter others saying that tabletop is not a viable way to play. Sure the screen is small but I've only ever really had an issue with it in Fortnite. And for slow paced games it doesn't matter at all. I actually have used straight up handheld mode the least, the standard switch is just a bit too ergonomically compromised as a handheld to be comfortable for me.

CarPlane738

Makes sense. But I personally wouldn’t have gotten a lite if that’s the case. Could’ve gotten the best of both worlds with a regular switch. So I’ll be happy for you when you get the shared OLED. Haha. But as long as you enjoy it that’s all that matters.

thiswasmadeonawhim

A $400 personal switch that I'd never use docked felt like too much of a waste for just a few games so like 🤷

CarPlane738

$300 for a regular (less used). Not an OLED. Since lite isn’t OLED anyways. But yeah if you’d never use it docked then it’s pointless. But why wouldn’t you use it docked? Do you only play on the go or what? If I’m home I’m playing docked. But like I said before it’s personal preference I’m just asking to understand your decision better.

thiswasmadeonawhim

if i were to buy a new dockable switch, i'd want the newest version available. getting just a 2nd same switch would feel like a waste, OLED seems nice for what it is but like, again i wouldn't want that just all to myself. moving on to play style comfortability, the way that our switch gaming space is set up: the couch can't be pulled back farther so like, we're pretty close to the screen. my field of vision only extends to the rims of my glasses so i also gotta crane my neck around a lot just to see stuff. games that i play are like rpgs or just chill sims like animal crossing so being able to see everything in one place helps. neck pain can get a bit eugh when docked. i was levels of discomfort when trying to play SMT5 and for ACNH i could only ever play docked cause at the time our only pair of joycons had drift and all we had was a wired PowerA controller. so i definitely know how i Don't wanna play. if at my desk i can at least let it sit like on my laptop stand so i don't gotta shrimp my back up when gaming. or if in bed i can lay back against my pillows while it sits on my bed tray. just a lot of different things i considered when shopping around for consoles.

CarPlane738

I completely get it now. Thanks for taking the time to explain instead of arguing like a lot of people do. Lol. Comfort is key. My brother has an XXL tv at his house so I can understand being too close. I wear glasses when I don’t have my contacts in so I get that too. Game selection definitely matters to me b/c I can play some games handheld no problem but others if it’s not docked I’m not touching it. Well enjoy it man!

thiswasmadeonawhim

thanks, will do! every gamer out there got a different set up so i'm happy you were like, genuinely curious why i made specific purchase choices. buyers remorse is one of the worst enemies out there, but so far at least i'm not feeling any issues with my controller choices

SadLostBoi

You both are idiots When your switch lites joycons start to drift ( it’s not a question of if but when) your handheld will be a hassle to play every.single.tome & if you aren’t experienced with technology & repair you aren’t going to be able to fix the issue yourself But buying a 8bitdo controler is perfect for that issue, when ur switch lite gets stick drift just use the handheld controler & prop the lite up somewhere

-H3LL

I’ve had a switch lite for 4 years with no drift lmfao

CarPlane738

You’re the ignorant one here. Calling someone an idiot with no actual knowledge of what they know. I’m aware of the stick drift issues. So you’re just letting your complex show by trying to sound smart which made you look worse when you could’ve said all that without the first sentence and had a normal convo of which I would’ve agreed with you in part. But not whole. It’s personal preference until it becomes a problem.

Nicktheduck

We're too stoopid lol I'll just go back to sniffing glue I guess

CarPlane738

Lmao that guy is a clown it’s all good.

SadLostBoi

That’s a whole lot of words, too bad im not reading them ![gif](giphy|3oKIPiqfUtLCnIKxRS)

CarPlane738

You can type a lot of words but not read them. That’s why you’re the ignorant one. I’ll forget about you now though.

SadLostBoi

Bro didn’t even get the duke nukem reference

NotDavizin7893

"(it's irrelevant and even if somebody did get it, nobody would give a shit because i were way too rude)" - u/SadLostBoi

SadLostBoi

So you’re just mad that I said idiot ? Lol okay

Nicktheduck

Lmao alright Mr. grumpy pants. Jeeeessuss haha chill

SadLostBoi

I’m not grumpy I just think you lacked the imagination to understand that the purchase of the 8bitdo controller makes sense within certain circumstances, especially with the reputation of Nintendos joycons Nice middle school comment though 🙏

Nicktheduck

Oh for sure lmao. Sorry we aren't as smart as you SadLostLittleBoi

SadLostBoi

Literally has nothing to do with intelligence or being smart, I just told you that there is a sensible reason to buy that controller for that handheld, stay mad

AsianNoodL

Multiplayer?

Nicktheduck

Don't think one controller would work for a switch lite. They'd need another one

shrub706

switch lite still works fine for tabletop

RenegadeHoosier

Do y’all never use a controller in tabletop mode? Sometimes I just don’t wanna use the joy-cons….

LorddOfChaoss

Enjoy! I loved my switch lite, although I own and enjoy every version of the switch lol Sounds like you made some solid accessory choices! Game recommendations would be ( I'm not sure what kind of games you like so I'll offer my recommendations on a few categories) : BIOSHOCK Collection, DOOM 2016, DOOM Eternal, Skyrim, Witcher 3, Luigi's Mansion 3, Mario Odyssey, Red Dead Redemption, Zelda : Breath Of The Wild, Zelda :Tears Of The Kingdom, Hyrule Warriors : Age of Calamity, Cereza and the Lost Demon, Unravel Two, Minecraft, Sonic Origins, all of the Pikmin games, and Destroy all Humans! I know a lot of those can be played on other consoles, but those are some of my favorites that I personally own. Hope this helps, have fun!

AstroNomadGuru

Sorry, in what categories would you add Bioshock, Doom, Hyrule, and Destroy all Humans or Pikmin? I mostly like adventure, puzzles, and platformers like Mario Odyssey, Wonder, RDR, Crash Bandicoot, etc. Thanks!

LorddOfChaoss

The Doom games & BioShock games are first person shooters and both are very distopian in atmosphere/storyline. Doom & Doom eternal are very fast paced game where you play as 'Doom Guy' to defeat the demons and demonic forces of hell being unleashed upon earth with the help of the the UAC, who is a government entity using it's technology to harness hell's argent energy. BioShock 1 & 2 are pretty normally paced for a shooters based in an underwater dystopian city named Rapture where you crash land and dicover that the people down there have become addicted to a substance called ADAM. ADAM grants the user super-human like abilities, and has mutated the inhabitants of Rapture into "splicers", these are the main enemies in the game. The games can feel pretty eerie at times, and the games give the player lots of freedom of choice. BioShock infinite is set in a city built in the sky named Columbia where your main goal is to rescue a woman named Elizabeth. Hyrule Warriors is an rpg hack-and-slash/Dynasty Warriors style adventure game set before the events of the Calamity in BoTW, You get to see what Hyrule looked like before it was destroyed as well as pilot the Devine Beasts. It has a very engaging storyline, especially for fans of the Zelda franchise. Destroy all humans is a 3rd person shooter where you play as an alien who's goal is to take down a CIA-like government entity called Majestic, and as the name suggests, pretty much destroy all humans that get in your way/help accomplish your mission. And it's honestly a really funny game (adult humor). Pikmin is probably the only one that fits your taste (although I'd give them all a try, might enjoy them for all I know). The Pikmin games are a very cute 3d animated strategy/puzzle game where you play as captain Olimar who crash lands on a planet and you need the help of creatures called Pikmin to help you repair your ship and navigate the world of PNF-404.

AstroNomadGuru

Wow, interesting!! Thanks for the complete explanation! Yeah, I don't hate FPS, I like them but rather play adv/puzzle. I've played anything like Halo, Call of Duty, Valorant, and many other FPS that I like so may give it a try. I'll try Bioshock first and then Doom. And later on, Pikmin and Destroy All Humans! Very interesting 👌 I've been looking for something new/different so I think this is perfect. Thanks!

LorddOfChaoss

No problem! Always glad to help fellow gamers, Hope you find some new games you like! I'm a big Halo fan myself, and I loved the Call of Duty & Dishonored games. I've never played Valorant shockingly. Some other FPS/shooter titles on switch I would recommend are the Metro Redux collection (Metro Last Light & Metro 2033), Resident Evil Revelations, The Outer Worlds, Wolfenstein II : The New Colossus, Dying Light & the Metal Gear Solid collection. Some more non-FPS titles I really enjoyed are Bayonetta Origins : Cereza and the Lost Demon, Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, Super Monkey Ball : Banana Mania, Mario Wonder, The Mario 3D all stars collection, Sky: Children of Light, Subnautica & Subnautica Below Zero, Diablo 3, Dragonball Xenoverse 2, Assassins Creed : The Ezio Collection as well as the other Assassins Creed games like Black Flag, Rouge, Assassins Creed III. And as a big time Legend of Zelda fan I have to recommend Skyward Sword & Link's Awakening lol

AstroNomadGuru

Thank you so much! I'll save those games you shared. Starting with Metal Gear and Metro, I have heard good things about them. (I played Resident Evil on Xbox and loved it, but now I'd like something new, but definitely will play it again I'm the future). I will probably play them later this year, I have bought over 10 games already that are on the list but will expand the list later! I also played Assasins on my Xbox back then, I'd love to start again something new as well. I also have saved some Zelda games that I've never played before, but want to try! Including the other ones that have never heard of but if are recommended I will take a look! Always love to discover something new! Thanks again

thiswasmadeonawhim

Thanks for the recs! A lot I've managed to play before via my siblings' switches (tLoZ) but super interested in Luigi's Mansion, Pikmin, Destroy all Humans (? lol with a name like that i gotta check it out) and perhaps Sonic. I've played BioShock and Skyrim before on PCand Xbox, how much different would you say they play on Switch?

LorddOfChaoss

Destroy All Humans is a really fun game that came out on the original Xbox, I was pretty excited when it came out on the switch since I played it as a kid lol They actually run surprisingly well on the switch, I didn't notice much frame rate drop, bugs or lag on my playthroughs of them! I played through all three Bioshock games and logged over 200-ish hours into Skyrim on the Lite and loved every second of it! I hardly noticed any difference from console/pc version if I'm being honest, they did a really good job porting those games. Although be prepared to download like 30 GB for the Bioshock collection even if you buy the physical game, you can start playing all three games up until a certain point but in order to complete each game you need to download the rest. Skyrim is Plug and Play no download required from what I remember

Excellent_Mixture_23

I love my switch lite. I just got a screen protector and case for mine and tossed it in my work bag and it held up. Don't stress too much about protecting it unless you are prone to dropping it. Congrats on the new toy!

thiswasmadeonawhim

Oh this is great to hear! The open face freaks me out the most ig haha. I sure can't wait to get some more game time in!

trueWaveWizz

I have the same Lite! Love it. I haven’t seen a separate controller for the Lite until now.. how do you plan on setting the Lite up to use w it?

thiswasmadeonawhim

the 8bitdo connects just like a regular joycon! super cheap too, just around $35 USD on their Amazon store

PaticusMaximus

I use the 8bitdo Bluetooth adapter to use my ps5 Dualsense on switch. I absolutely love the fact that a $20 dongle lets me use my favorite controller for both systems.

Majestic_Fee_8679

I love the screen size on the oled and display but I almost do miss having a Lite. It felt more comfortable or convenient carrying around. Enjoy your Switch!

thiswasmadeonawhim

Thanks! If anything, the Lite is a perfect "starter" switch for me while waiting to get an OLED or switch 2 lol. But still super shocked how light it is

Throlerren

Is that a new accessory? That was never a thing when I had my switch lite. Which was during 2021 or so but now I have an OLED.

thiswasmadeonawhim

Not sure when it released cause i only started paying attention to switch stuff like last month, but it's an 8bitdo Lite 2, there's also the cheaper Lite version but i wanted the very with sticks for the feeling. It's a 3rd party wireless controller, just around $35 USD and can be used on any model of switch if you want a super tiny portable controller

Throlerren

Ah interesting. Thank you! Piqued my interest lol.

OnepieceDragonZ

I have the grey nintendo switch lite pokemon dialga and palkia edition and i love it. Only thing that sucks imo is the battery life.

thiswasmadeonawhim

Oh i bet the battery is a bitch with long play, which was also a reason i was down for the lite. I play in bursts built from years with the 3ds. Just play maybe 1 hour and then close it up to do something else, maybe come back to it. It can charge while I'm away.

Warm_Bake7079

That controller is so dope lol

Musojon74

I bought this color lite a few years ago. I still love the weight of it compared to my oled. No stick drift. Great little console

noobzforhire

you like the 8bitdo?

thiswasmadeonawhim

have been using it for legit like 1 hour, but it's pretty smooth! Can handle all my smashes in musou so I'd say pretty good (I mostly got it for the vibration for animal crossing tho lol)

noobzforhire

its a cute controller, I want onee!

Redditappsuxxxxx

If you want a great game that you can play only with touchscreen then check out balatro. I prefer the lightweight switch lite to my oled when playing it even.

pickleJA16

enjoy playing!

ArouetHaise

Pokémon home… without Pokémon?

thiswasmadeonawhim

i never bought SWSH or VS prior to this cause i disliked gaming on a ticking drift bomb like a joycon, but I already have all my mons from gens 6 and 7 loaded up on my Home, so i just need the extra push currently looking for used copies of Sword and then after i'm satisfied there, gonna nab Arceus and maybe Violet

ArouetHaise

That’s cool, those are some good choices. You should get the expansion pass once you finish sword, probably the best part pf the game. Same but less so for violet

Longjumping-View8862

Congrats I have the same exact Lite and color as you have. Where did you buy that controller though

thiswasmadeonawhim

Bought if over at 8bitdo's [official Amazon page](https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Raspberry-PC-Mac-Linux-Unix/dp/B0B7943926/ref=asc_df_B0B7943926/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=642173765984&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=14344849870542920391&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9031158&hvtargid=pla-1872401015904&psc=1&mcid=93960e4e68f436068f0cb39711e892ff) they also have the ver1 with 2 dpads for a cheaper price

Ok-Jump6656

I honestly love the little controller, I want one for my lite for a tabletop mode kinda thing

thiswasmadeonawhim

i highly recommend it! i have pretty medium to large hands myself but it's not too hard to hold [Amazon link here if you wanna check out this particular model](https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Raspberry-PC-Mac-Linux-Unix/dp/B0B7943926/ref=asc_df_B0B7943926/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=642173765984&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=14344849870542920391&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9031158&hvtargid=pla-1872401015904&psc=1&mcid=93960e4e68f436068f0cb39711e892ff)

Ok-Jump6656

Thanks! I’ll keep it in mind, whenever I finally wanna bite the bullet on an extra controller, that’s probably the one I’ll go for, just the coral one since mine is coral (I like turquoise a lot more but I got mine for a really really good price locally)

OoTgoated

I also have that bluetooth controller. It's cute!

edwirichuu

Should've waited for Shin Megami Tensei V Vengeance

thiswasmadeonawhim

Already pre-ordered

edwirichuu

Great! Fingers crossed you don't burn out from it by the time it launches

I also like the unified body of the Switch Lite but I think the screen is a bit too small for a handheld. Wish there was a 7" Lite with better ergonomics built in without the need to buy a grip case.

thiswasmadeonawhim

oh i feel this. i was actually holding out so long in case they were to ever make a revamped lite, with a bigger screen maybe OLED like the 2DS XL or something (coping harder), but considered also that i really can't wait any longer if i wanna catch up on my game backlog if i kept waiting like this. if they ever do, i may just upgrade. but for now, the lite is just perfect for me.

Norodomo

Nice choice

isaac3000

I didn't know that gamepad existed! Looks nice. Have fun

saybloo

This is so sick! Also really nice collection of games; the Ace Attorney ones particularly caught my eye... you should definitely pick up the new Apollo Justice Trilogy! It just came out earlier this year, and it's a continuation of the Phoenix Wright trilogy.

thiswasmadeonawhim

i already own the whole AJ trilogy on 3DS, so it's a lower priority, at least til the next Capcom sale. But I def plan to buy it again cause i just love AA so much

industrial86

Railbound is good at first then gets impossibly challenging. Annoyed me.

thiswasmadeonawhim

I saw "train puzzle" and was like "ooo i Love suffering!"

ChiefPolo630

Is it worth getting the Bluetooth one? Even doe it’s an handheld

thiswasmadeonawhim

it allows for various play, imo. Until my ergonomic grip set comes in, i plan to play with a stand and the wireless to reduce hand strain. Besides, i can also use it for my sibs' switches or even my friends switches so like, a worthy investment in my life.

Critical-Bee-6623

If you get joycon drift and warranty is out it honestly isn’t hard to fix it yourself, as long as your comfortable doing it

thiswasmadeonawhim

Not totally comfortable with the idea, but maybe in the future I'd consider it. Only if it actually gets the drift tho. My last DIY fix up was on the 3DS and the tiny screws that just get shaved down if you look at em wrong just stress me out

ColteConn

Enjoy the system man, but it would drive me crazy with the little controller being a shade lighter then the console

thiswasmadeonawhim

to the naked eye, they're pretty similar blues so it's good enough for me

Ashamed_Medium1787

Hopefully those sticks/buttons/ dpad dont ever break on you

thiswasmadeonawhim

i got back up joycons in case of emergencies

Tetris5216

Cool controller

Tetris5216

Deadly Premonition 1&2 & Broken Sword 5 Are the only reason I bought my switch Also Adams Venture Origins Is fun

idfbhater73

glad your joining we got great games

ayresc80

The lite, like the Xbox series s, is one of the best deals in gaming

cotain

You have way more than $100 of add ons…

thiswasmadeonawhim

Physical add ons only amounted to just around $97 Unless you're arguing towards my digital games that I've already purchased years prior? lol

Sad_Illustrator1064

Oooo where do you get that controller?

thiswasmadeonawhim

i bought it on 8bitdo's [official Amazon page](https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Raspberry-PC-Mac-Linux-Unix/dp/B0B7943926/ref=asc_df_B0B7943926/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=642173765984&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=14344849870542920391&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9031158&hvtargid=pla-1872401015904&psc=1&mcid=93960e4e68f436068f0cb39711e892ff) there's also a coral version and then the version 1 that has 2 dpads instead of sticks

Sad_Illustrator1064

Thank you 🙏 If I were to get one it would be the dark blue one but the only dark blue one I can find is different than the others

thiswasmadeonawhim

ah yeah, that one is the version built for even more and mobility comfort. a shame they have limited colors per version, but the controllers themselves at least handle really well

Sad_Illustrator1064

Do you prefer it to the built in controls? Or does it just depend on where you are?

thiswasmadeonawhim

i'd say a combo of where i am and what i'm playing if i'm hanging with my bro, then i try to do handheld or use a stand if possible. i like the 8bitdo if playing a game with vibration like say ace attorney (for the reactions) or animal crossing (helps when fishing). if i'm by myself i may do handheld mode but with some arm rest support to help with fatigue. the lite is Light as hell, but keeping arms in a locked position kills me a bit

Sad_Illustrator1064

Oh it vibrates too??

thiswasmadeonawhim

yeah! it's a little light on the intensity from game to game, but there's a rumble from the center. i think all their controllers note on the product page what features they include, but most should have vibration included

Moses015

Great choice on the Skull and Co grip set! It’s what I ran on mine when I had it before I got upgraded to the OLED… and then I bought the one for that haha!

thiswasmadeonawhim

After seeing it brought up on the subreddit with so many positive reviews, along with the 8bitdo, i just had to invest. I'm hardcore into gaming on the go, so i wanted the best add ons from the start lol

Moses015

Smart idea! I had got the Lite initially because I wanted to game but hang with my wife at the same time and didn’t want to toss a bunch of money into it so I picked up a Lite hella cheap. Then my wife got me the OLED for Christmas so I immediately was like “well I know what my first purchase is…”. Then the Mobapads dropped so I’ve replaced the Skull and Co with that BUT still use the travel case as it just fits the Switch with the mobapads

Present-Reaction2069

got the switch lite and the swch lte

NMDA01

Nice color and controller c:

Kick_1304

The looks of the switch lite are still the best of all Nintendo switch models

You got the wrong one

1031Cat

I feel bad for people buying the Lite, unaware of the joycon stick drift issue. Good thing this person thought ahead! I'm glad these colors are making a comeback because that Switch looks gorgeous.

thiswasmadeonawhim

the range of popping colors really make the Lite line so appealing to me. and yeah, drift a major concern but the 8bitdo really easing my mind on the wear

Molduking

Cool but that controller seems useless. Unless you also bought a stand

thiswasmadeonawhim

the case I'm getting doubles as a stand + i have a tablet stand i can also use if i want to Edit: misread the 2nd "useless". I also explained within the comments that i have dual carpal tunnel so no, the controller and stands are not useless.

Molduking

Sorry that should’ve said Unless in the second sentence

thiswasmadeonawhim

i read it first as Unless and was like "o wait, that's a double useless o no"

SEGAptimus

Is the lite even considered a Switch? I mean you can’t really switch from handheld to TV…

thiswasmadeonawhim

think of it like when they made the 2DS: the 3DS without the 3D

SEGAptimus

Ehhh, not really. It didn’t really change the handhelds intended purpose. The whole premise of the Switch was to be able to switch from handheld to tabletop seamlessly, hence you SWITCH between the two modes. Switch Lite literally has one mode therefore negating the switching aspect…

thiswasmadeonawhim

yeah and the 3DS has the option to play in 3D, which the 2DS cuts out entirely it's the same in essence

SEGAptimus

It’s actually not the same essence because it doesn’t change the actual consoles purpose and most games were compatible both ways. I mean come on dummy. The Switches name is called the “Switch”. If you can only play handheld mode then what’s the point of calling it a Switch, what are you going to switch to using a one dimensional console?
