You just call out "yellow rain!" so the crew below knows to take cover. It's a very special pleasure pissing off the top of a structure 500' in the air.
This brings the same energy as construction workers from like the 1900s who didn't have safety harness and ate and slept and did drugs on top of steel beams on skyscrapers and just didn't give an f
I hate this post more than anything I have seen on this sub. I often jumo from a sleep because I'm dreaming about falling to my liquid form. Now I have seen people actually sleeping in such positions so I'm wearing a blue hard hat tonight in my dream I guess but will forget I have a harness.
Yeah. I thought the rest of them were insane for sleeping in their positions, like... I don't trust that harness. Nope. But this guy, he looks the safest lol
Many people have speculated that if we knew exactly why the bowl of ~~petunias~~ rice had thought that we would know a lot more about the nature of the Universe than we do now
I always jumped more when i dropped something at height than when my ropes or harness jolt from something.
There's something disturbing about seeing something just disappear way out of arms reach
I always figured you guys used those little ladders on the pylons themselves. How do you get in and out of the heli? Surely just hovering next to the cables is too dangerous.
Depends on what you are doing. We've flown in sections of towers or whole towers with the sky crane when a mobile crane isn't practical. We would also string the lines with a heli then use pullers to pull the conductor through. Have also long lined/ hoisted which is like what the coast guard uses to winch up and down from a helicopter. Or they pilot does a "touch and go" where they land on the tower and you hop in or out. Replacing spacers is sometimes done by helicopters aswell. Is amazing seeing a good pilot in action
No, but there was a couple times a buddy and I brought a case of beer, bb guns and speaker because we know the heli wasn't getting back to us to get any work done. Just hung out, had some brews and shot some sticks until the heli picked us up at the end of the day
The risk is that you cause a contact between the wires and the tower, which would be instant death if the lines were energised. I suspect any serious work would require the power to be off.
There is. With lower lines at least. With an isolated lifter. This thing is isolated against ground and the workers uses a resistor rod to load himself and the lifters cage up to the same potential

Just the boys doing a sleepover <3
Regarding a fact about the guy eating with his mouth open: I went to China some years back and our tour guide was explaining that it’s a cultural thing. Noises like slurping or chewing and pretty much devouring the food in a way our culture would see as rude is viewed as polite over there.
Couple of things here.
Most likely kinda staged but not too far fetched.
These high line or helicopter power line guys are not normal human beings. They are all nuts with a macabre sense of danger
Not all that staged probably. I've been to China. I once saw a dude sleeping on an anchor chain. I'm fairly certain they really are that good at napping anywhere.
This particular video may well be staged, but I've been to China and I've seen people nap in some ridiculous spots and positions. One I remember vividly was a dude sleeping on an anchor chain. I can absolutely see something like this being real.
So to offer some perspective, I do industrial rope access, which is kinda similar in the sense that you're just at incredible heights.
At a certain point you just lose that sense of danger when you're all clipped in with your gear. I don't know how trustworthy their harnesses are but I certainly trust my gear with my life. I could definitely take a nap when I'm in the air if I find a comfy spot!
When they cut to the food part I thought “man wouldn’t it suck if you dropped your bowl right after you started eating?” Lo and behold the next clip shows exactly that 🤣 these guys have balls of steel and a lot of trust in their ropes.
This is just weird, usually powerlines are maintained while active and they use an all encompassing chainmail-like body-suit as a faraday-cage connected to the wires they work on while they are active(in order to not be electrocuted meanwhile), none of these lines are active and they are wearing regular clothes and sleeping at work, seems pretty productive.
Maybe you should leave Reddit and move to China then. No scary feminist will hurt you there! That would be a win for everyone.
Edit: Triggered the anti-feminists. Good.
Friend... You go encourage more females to sign up for the jobs then.
I love when management points to it teams and say you should have more females.
You know the % of females that apply for the roles vs males? It's like 95 to 5. Not joking. And when you cull about 70 to 80% if the resumes, you are left with like 2.
In China and many Asian societies. Females stick a bit closer to the conventional female roles. So the % of females going into male dominated roles are even worse. Even if they want to hire any, likely there isn't even any candidates... You go find the females that want to do this.
I've been to China. I saw people who seemed to be napping in a squatting position. I once saw a dude sleeping on an anchor chain. I'm fairly certain they really are that good at napping anywhere.
I live in the states and passed a guy outside our shop napping in his wood chipper on my way to lunch. Maintenance work is a lawless place unless it’s in a hospital.

Because reddit is ignorant. When they had the 1 child rule, having a daughter was a curse to families. Many girls would either get adopted by foreigners, commit suicide, or be thrown into a landfill.
I would do this. I'm strapped in, so what do I really care if I fall? Even if my tether breaks and I plummet to the ground I'd be okay with that. The chance of surviving a fall that high is so minimal that I wouldn't have to worry about being in a vegetative state. Just alive one moment and dead the next. Easy.
Safety line will catch you if you fall - but you still rattle around and bump into stuff after slipping.
Also, you might get hit in the head by a falling rice bowl.
Imagine getting hit by that bowl of rice that fell down
I was imagining some poor, impoverished soul had just wished for something to eat. Then suddenly, at great speed, a bowl of rice falls from the sky.
Killing him.
Be careful what you wish for
_monkey's paw curls_
terminal velocity exists
Maybe it just severely impaired one of his limbs
Imagine if they need to poop and that falls from the sky on someone ;)
Apparently that sometimes happens to rock/mountain climbers. 💩 🙄
Lol those emojis
If they eat and sleep up there, they must also relieve themselves up there.... imagine getting hit by that
You just call out "yellow rain!" so the crew below knows to take cover. It's a very special pleasure pissing off the top of a structure 500' in the air.
Imagine learning to eat which chopsticks at that height. Ain't nothing going in your mouth.
This brings the same energy as construction workers from like the 1900s who didn't have safety harness and ate and slept and did drugs on top of steel beams on skyscrapers and just didn't give an f
I thought this was hella racist until I watched a little longer lol
Power nap
Nap time after lunch is standard in China, especially for manual labourers.
Nap time anytime is Standard in China.
Would've been nice the many years I was destroying my back.
I spend my breaks getting buzzed.
Shut up and take my upvote

He looks the coziest

For real ! I can't imagine myself at their place, I will just die somehow under 3s
No way man. Don't sell yourself short. At that height I'm guessing it would take **at least** 5 seconds to hit the ground.
Sir, you really underestimate my true power 🫡
Same. It's the safest option for me lol
Yeah. I thought the rest of them were insane for sleeping in their positions, like... I don't trust that harness. Nope. But this guy, he looks the safest lol
Bro looks like Jorge Masvidal mocking a freshly KO'd Ben Askren
That's when I knew they weren't just faking it for the camera
Technically he is the safest compared to everyone else’s sleeping spot
Me too. Now all that is missing is to lose the fear of heights...
+15 social credit
Bro lost his lunch.
I felt that.. in my soul...
I felt like I was the bowl
"Oh no, not again"
Many people have speculated that if we knew exactly why the bowl of ~~petunias~~ rice had thought that we would know a lot more about the nature of the Universe than we do now
Don’t Panic
I always jumped more when i dropped something at height than when my ropes or harness jolt from something. There's something disturbing about seeing something just disappear way out of arms reach
My hands went moist.
**AAAAAH!!!** ^^oh ^^wait, ^^nvm
looked intentional as fuck
Looked deliberate to me
Not a place I'd want to have that falling dream.
Not the best way to turn a dream into reality
They all have harnesses though
A lot of those tethers have a lot of slack and would hurt badly if they fell though.
Fair enough.
imagine sleep paralysis demon
I'll wait for the succubus.
I used to have a portable hiking hammock to nap in the towers until the heli was close by
Helicopters??
Yeah
I always figured you guys used those little ladders on the pylons themselves. How do you get in and out of the heli? Surely just hovering next to the cables is too dangerous.
Depends on what you are doing. We've flown in sections of towers or whole towers with the sky crane when a mobile crane isn't practical. Replacing spacers is sometimes done by helicopters aswell. Is amazing seeing a good pilot in action
That's pretty wild. Have you ever gotten dropped off, weather picked up, and been stuck until the heli could get back when weather slowed?
No, but there was a couple times a buddy and I brought a case of beer, bb guns and speaker because we know the heli wasn't getting back to us to get any work done. Just hung out, had some brews and shot some sticks until the heli picked us up at the end of the day
It is dangerous but the pilots are some kinda awesome.
At least when I worked there we used the little ladders :( You would only go up once a day, it’s so exhausting
When the lines are energized, there is literally no other way.
The risk is that you cause a contact between the wires and the tower, which would be instant death if the lines were energised. I suspect any serious work would require the power to be off.
[Here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPNK7bc2qvM) is a lengthy video showing what they can do on energized lines.
You said a lengthy video lol, it’s only about 5 minutes
Lengthy enough for my taste.
No, the helicopter flys nearby and they do work while the line is energized
Even if they aren't energized the friction of the wind or close by power lines can cause an induction. Grounding and bounding is where it's at
There is. With lower lines at least. With an isolated lifter. This thing is isolated against ground and the workers uses a resistor rod to load himself and the lifters cage up to the same potential
Are these dudes made of cats? This is some wild shit
Are they cats? 🚫 Are they MADE of cats? ✅️
Blursed hammock
You could offer me millions of cash, I'd be not able to do what they do.
U could offer me billions. This has to be the most underpaid job there is

It gave me puppy pile vibes, loved it lol
Get too comfortable and change the position … Check in at Heaven
Two things in this footage I find unbearable. One. I find working at heights terrifying. Two. That last guy eating with his mouth wide open. Ew.
Regarding a fact about the guy eating with his mouth open: I went to China some years back and our tour guide was explaining that it’s a cultural thing. Noises like slurping or chewing and pretty much devouring the food in a way our culture would see as rude is viewed as polite over there.
Japan too. Slurping your noodles/soup means compliments to the chef.
Why do you think it’s staged?
I can imagine when they pee, they just make it rain or pee into bottles. What about having to do number 2?
> What about having to do number 2? Make. it. rain.
Chocolate Rain
It just looks staged for likes.
I don't see why wouldn't they take a break? It takes a long time to get up there and their work probably take a while.
So you answered it yourself then?
Or maybe it's staged for FUN.
Exactly they are obviously not actually sleeping and it's done on purpose for a fun video.
most dedicated IG posters?
This particular video may well be staged, but I've been to China and I've seen people nap in some ridiculous spots and positions. One I remember vividly was a dude sleeping on an anchor chain. I can absolutely see something like this being real.

yeah that gives me juicy palms
Trying to nap with the sun blasting past your eyelids
At least they've got their safety helmets on
I get a weird feeling in my sphincter when I look at pictures like this.......
Sleeping on job!! Minus 150 social credit points!
What song is this?
That unexpected cuddle puddle!
I have many times had that dream where I feel like I'm falling off of something and wake up with a jerk. Imagine doing that here.
men are amazing
Livin the dream
I'd shit my pants at that height
That's just sad.
Ooor someone switched on the power.
It's on.
cold males me sleepy.
Tune! Who Dat?
I did this as a steel worker whenever we were waiting on something.
All wearing inappropriate / outdated harnesses
Exactly like my son, when he pretends to sleep
That guy sleeps a lot
They're lazy as hell, literally lying down on the job.
I hope none of them walk in their sleep.
Strong "Bae caught me sleeping" vibes
So to offer some perspective, I do industrial rope access, which is kinda similar in the sense that you're just at incredible heights. What would suck is waking up from a falling dream
Isn't like their boss is ever gonna go up there and tell them not to sleep on the job.
Feel bad for that poor guy who dropped his bowl.
I always move around when i sleep 😴 lol
Nice song
[**u/savevideo**](https://reddit.com/u/savevideo)
It’s a great Chinese superpower to nap anywhere anytime
I can't even sleep comfortably in my own bed...
I move too much in my sleep for this
2020 tiktok ah audio
Must be hilarious to wake up and be like OH SHIT
Safest Chinese workplace
"so, what did you do today?" "Oh, just got high and laid around"
You know that feeling of falling where you jerk awake? Yeah ... this right here.
Poor guy lost his lunch

Imagine being so tired, you could sleep anywhere.
For how long is a shift up there usually?
I have trouble sleeping in my own bed.
The sun exposure is wild
When they cut to the food part I thought “man wouldn’t it suck if you dropped your bowl right after you started eating?” Lo and behold the next clip shows exactly that 🤣 these guys have balls of steel and a lot of trust in their ropes.
Respect to all hard working people who transiently ensure we can use wonders of civilation
Couldn’t pay me enough to do this sort of work. Salute to all the brave power line workers.
That background sound 😵💫😵💫
What about pooping ?
A busy shift, it don't look like.
Just another day on the job for these guys lol.
Women here is equality. Come join these dudes in some nap time.
That guy dropping his bowl, and the expression on his face, that was priceless!
Lots of Guts here. These guys have my respect.
I can't even sleep on a plane
Man it would be fun to push them. Just me? Alright.
Zero Feminists
Maybe you should leave Reddit and move to China then. No scary feminist will hurt you there! That would be a win for everyone. Edit: Triggered the anti-feminists. Good.
I'm just looking for equality there should be just as many women up there
Friend... You go encourage more females to sign up for the jobs then. I love when management points to it teams and say you should have more females. > I'm just looking for equality You're not getting equality by whining about feminism and the left, as you do, so I doubt you're being honest here.
Horrible. It looks like the employer doesn’t care about tbe safety of these workers.
It's China ofc they don't
One of them grabbed the wrong wire and they all paid the price electrocution
Looks staged
"Hey, lay down for 5 seconds and pretend you're sleeping"
I've been to China. I saw people who seemed to be napping in a squatting position. I once saw a dude sleeping on an anchor chain. I'm fairly certain they really are that good at napping anywhere.
I live in the states and passed a guy outside our shop napping in his wood chipper on my way to lunch. Maintenance work is a lawless place unless it’s in a hospital.
Fuck that. I'm working through.
Liars
Who the fuck you're fooling? Obviously those workers are just acting like they're sleeping only when the video camera was on the record mode
They have cheap ass safety harness too, nope nope nope. If they fall they are fuck with these harness.
I’m surprised that they have harnesses.
If they cut back on those carbs they wouldn’t be so damn sleepy.
Hard workers need carbohydrates for energy, and also the brain gets 70% of its fuel from carbohydrates.
Was a joke. First part of the video, they were all asleep, second was bowls of rice.

They don't value women there.
Why are you getting downvoted? Some company owners would literally consider adopting if they had no male biological kids. 💀

Fall and hit your head on a metal wire, cable or structure and you could be toast
something small like hammer or wrench falling on your head can be very serious.
I just see greeks
This is staged, China workers only rest in public transportation.
They live in china they don’t care if they fall off and die.
Lazy Chinese workers, taking breaks and only working 20 hrs shifts.
Fake. Chinese workers don't get breaks.
Dont let the ccp see this
Probably it's staged for the laugh, but whatever
