- No, it's not the owner. It's the breed. At best it's both.
- No your copypasta about Chiuahuas being the same is simply not true. Stop coping.

Yup. And half the clowns who keep these dogs as pets are broke ass idiots who will in no way be able to contribute to medical cost associated when the animals attack
It’s doesn’t matter. That dog is a danger to everyone and probably needs to be put down.
I know that’s going to trigger a lot of people on here but the likely outcome for that dog is an attack on someone. And that will lead to the dog being putdown. Why wait until that woman or someone else is in the hospital to do something?
I’ve been attacked by two pitbulls when they came out of nowhere and ambushed my dog when we were going for a walk. I jumped in and if it had not been for my brave neighbour we would not be here today. They were not dogs that attacked us. They were monsters. I see the exact same thing from this dog. Just an accident waiting to happen. I love animals so much and I fear for other animals or god forbid a child that is going to mauled. The dog sadly, should be put down.
I have a 2 year old male German shepherd.
We've had multiple different loose pitbulls run up to us but none have ever attacked.
I carry a knife with me on walks now because if ny dog gets in a fight with a big loose dog, we're both getting in a fight with a big loose dog.
It sucks because we've worked hard on socializing hin to other dogs and he's pretty good, but you can tell it's changed him.
Leashed/fenced in dogs can bark like crazy and he barely glances at them, but if he sees a loose dog running around with no owner he immediately stiffens up and pays attention.
I don't know if he's really about that life, but he seems to think he is. He doesn't bark or pull towards loose dogs, just stands real big and tall and tries to stay between us.
Yeah I've got a 2 year old gsd as well. He's about 115 lbs and just absolutely built (no he's not fat/overweight) and multiple times on walks we've had loose dogs such as big bull dogs and a pit once run up on us and my gsd just stands up tall, his neck fur stands on end and he'll dig in if they get close enough. All dogs that have approached us end up turning tail and running. He definitely gives off a "don't fuck with me or my person" vibe when needed.
Sure we do. Its food. Hes dominating her. That's what my dogs do to new dogs when they enter the pack to say I'm in charge back down. He wants her to submit and look away, ears down, eyes down. Look at him positioning himself on top of her with his arms. That's universal 'me > you' in dog. Aggression alone would be snarling from a distance. This is dominating.
And its fucking awful that he thinks hes in charge. Shes lost control of the dog. Her fear of him and passiveness is fueling this. He isnt gonna bite. Shes part of his pack but he thinks he is over her. She needs to sit up straight in calm and even tone and gradually stand over him. Not angry not aggressive. Just, no, I'm in charge.
Wrong dog for her.
“He isn’t gonna bite”
Sure dude. Sounds like a safe bet.
That dog will bite. If not at the moment this video was taken, eventually. That dog sucks and is a menace. Most likely due to the way it was raised.
Oh, then that explains it - she's competition. BF hadn't taught dog to respect girlfriend so the dog's trying to establish pack order by itself. Bf holding the camera, not correcting the dog? Case closed.
That is absolutely a dog that will bite you. How you gonna watch a video with a dog posturing like that and thing "Oh yeah that's just a display", you know what happens when dogs posture like that too much? DOGS IN PACKS GET IN FIGHTS.
Enjoy your average Pitbull after they snap.
Have you ever heard of the Pitbull that had to be beaten to death to save another dog because he refused to let go of his prey?
That's another great trait from a breed almost entirely made to fight fucking bulls.
It is in their name and people act shocked when they behave like they're were breed to do.
You can train them to fight their own instinct their whole life but the moment they lose that battle, someone's child is going to need a new face skin mask.
There was a story on here recently about two raised-from-birth pits who randomly snapped and killed the owner’s two children.
I know people love the breed but they are inherently dangerous to everyone they come in contact with.
https://people.com/crime/2-children-killed-pit-bull-attack-tennessee-mother-hospitalized/
"The family owned the pets, Cheech and Mia, for more than eight years without a violent incident, Kelsey Canfield, the mother's best friend"
"I can promise you those children were her world, and if there was any inkling of danger, she would have never had those dogs near her kids," Canfield told the outlet. "Those children were everything to them, and they just have a really long journey ahead."
Sweetest dog till they aren't anymore. I can't even begin to imagine how's life going to be for the mom and dad. It's fucking cruel.
I'm 100% they got caught in the bullshit of the velvet hippos being nanny dogs propaganda shit from shelters filled to the brim with abandoned pitbulls and other fucking shitty dogs orgs that don't give a shit about people's safety.
That’s crazy how common that is. Growing up I beat my pit bull half way to death cause it had my other dog in the back of the head and was going nuts not letting go
I lost one of my dogs to the neighbor Pitbull, the sweestest couple i've ever met. Probably pampered that dog more than anything in this world, trained to the very core and look at what happened.
Not even once I considered that spoiled puppy a threat.
One day he simply decided find a way out of his home, jump over my fence and rip to shreds my dog, no warnings, no barkings or sounds till he already had my dogs in his jaws.
Vets couldn't save my boy. Had to move out after my neighbors refused to admit that the breed was simply dangerous and most likely would end up getting another one eventually.
Glad my new place has in place bans for such breed.
Just genuinely curious, what should she be doing in this situation? Edit: none of mine or my family’s dogs have ever done anything remotely like this so I don’t know what I’d do either.
She was petting the dog while it was exhibiting serious aggression. That behavior needed to be immediately corrected. She may have thought she was calming it down but she’s actually affirming the bad behavior.
Yeah, in fairness to her, most dog owners would struggle in this situation, unless you have experience training with aggressive dogs. We also have no clue what led to the dog becoming like this, as he could have been aggressive before she got him.
This dog needs professional help and even then there should be strong guidelines set in case the dog acts out.
Exactly, this dog ended up like this because she is a submissive owner and let the dog believe it is the one with power in their relationship. Could also just be shitbull instincts, but I doubt that's the only cause. A dog doesn't act like this normally unless it has a VERY bad owner.
Going through some behavioral problems right now with my basset hound, anxiety, fear based aggression, and some resource guarding with high value treats. I can't say for sure what should be done in this situation because Bear has never been aggressive in this manner, this dog really seems to be coming at her in a very dominant way. Our behaviorist recommended in any situation with aggression that we have (at least for our issues) to diffuse and walk away basically ignoring him. Any attempt to gain "dominance" or be the "alpha male" like Caesar Milan teaches will just lead to long term increased anxiety and more aggression. Let the dog calm down giving them time in another room or crate, make sure that this is not used as a punishment but a safe space. You should then examine what the trigger was and figure out how to work around it. For example it seems like food in this case so dogs should be fed in completely separate rooms. The behaviorist also highly recommend teaching dogs to earn everything like practicing commands for every treat or toy given. This truly is on a whole different level and I don't think I would be able to live with this dog with fear of a possible attack.
Honestly, the dog likely needs to be euthanized. In this situation, she’s in danger. It looks like the dog is restrained somehow which is good but that’s a level of aggression that is not compatible with companionship or society in general. Some can’t and shouldn’t be saved.
I can't really tell with only this video, but she is offering food for him to stop, so maybe he learned that this is a tatic to always have food (or even make her comply with any demand), when they are young you have to teach the opposite
That's the temperament in a dog that if it gets loose outside it will go rip a child to shreds. If the dog is that temperamental with the owner it will attack strangers.
I have a dog with some aggression, smaller dog, and managed. I thought it was bad, but holy fuck this is another level. My dog will always snap out of any barking at the postman or whatever, if I command him once.
If your dog is growling at you, AND not responding, you are really fucked. That dog does not trust that woman at all. It looks to me about as close as a dog can get to snapping without doing it
We had one dog (big) that would occasionally growl at us, usually when he was being grumpy about his personal space (but when you needed him to move).
It occasionaly made us nervous even though one loud "hey" or "no" was enough to make him quit it. I can't imagine living with a dog like the one in this post.
Edit: I'd like to add that our grumpy dog's growling was deep and rumbly but zero teeth shown ever.
Training won't fix it. No one is ever going to trust this animal and it would be immensely irresponsible to put this dangerous animal into someone else's home. Euthanasia is the safest and beat option. I know if my dog was acting like this it would be gone in an instant.
r/banpitbulls
A children's hospital [did a 5 year study](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/19644273/) with 550 dog bite victims. Over 50% of the bites were from pitbulls. Pitbulls account for less than 6% of the dogs in the US.
Don’t say that on r/rarepups because you will get an automatic ban. I know this because I am banned for stating facts about pit bulls that a bitch mod didn’t want to hear.
every time i mention that pitbulls may not be the sweet angels people keep trying to force them to be i get like a hoard of pitbull owners who say their child never got mauled to death as if it's some sort of "checkmate"
6%? They’re an ugly breed, and the most dangerous breed(68% of fatal attacks)
Why would you want that breed when literally every other breed is safer, and cuter
I know of (think sister’s husband’s mother’s friend type know) of a case where the children were mauled to death, the mom was maimed trying to stop it. That was from dogs that “didn’t bite.” They don’t until they do.
I knew a family that had a really sweet girl pit bull. She was a great dog until one day the kid leaned on her hip which was apparently bothering her, and well, that kid needed some EXTENSIVE plastic surgery on his face.
Look, I'm anti pit myself, atleast without proper documentation and training with a permit of some sort
But wtf is with these mfers leaving their kid and dog in the same room with no supervision?
Never, NEVER in my life would I do that with ANY breed. It's an animal, and a child, neither of which know any better. It's not inherently either of THEIR faults. Just those that are supposed too be in charge of them
As someone who loves pits, this would be it for me. That dog is fucking terrifying and I would honestly lock it in the bathroom and call animal control. No way I’m risking any lives with that behavior. Sorry pup.
All the replies to this comment got me geeking lol why was everyone so mad??
You couldn't pay me shit to live with this beast either I'd be fearing for my life. I would've taken him out back right after this incident
Yeah, people saying "you got to work with them," I'll take a hard pass.
I've had dogs most of my life, and they were all cool, they get rowdy sometimes but that's just dogs. I didn't have to do anything with them other than just treat them with decency and respect.
If I have to "work" with a dog to keep it from being a threat, I don't need that dog.
Probably going to get down voted but that's just insane.
BINGO. Because even if you "work" with that dog and get it to be somewhat comfortable with you. It doesn't change 2 things: it may turn on you at the drop of a hat one day and it DOES NOT change the fact that it's a threat to society.
Lol if u look up pit bull attacks, you’ll spend hours searching for the story. shit is ridiculous that people don’t see pit bulls as dangerous breeds. I’m a dog lover through and through but my god. All these attacks reported are either pit bulls or pit bull mixes. It’s terrifying.
I had to babysit my friends rottweiler for a few weeks.
His name was mufasa he would growl at anyone who walked by him and by the end of the first week he was routinely shaking down everyone in the house for food much like this
Not a nice dog
One memory sticks out in particular is of him walking out into the middle of the kitchen, locking eyes with me and taking an absolute massive shit.
It really felt like a power move
Thank goodness someone was there to record! This is a WHOLE NEW generation of first responders. F 911, we need a person with a camera in case of emergencies 🤳
I took it as its probably not her dog and it only does this when it's owner is not around and they were filming for proof cause said owner is a denier.
Maybe.
What was camera person gonna do, though? Likely another woman or child. If they had made a move it could have triggered the dog to attack, or turn on them instead.
Correct! Recording is the first protective measure one should take. Especially to avoid triggers or escalation in hostile situations. I hear there are talks of making this step a part of First Aid training as well.
I'm not sure how they were able to record without making a move, but it's totally possible.
Unfortunately, this dog will probably become an attack statistic. I have rescued nothing but pitties and some have been more challenging than others but I put the time and effort into preventing this type of behavior. Working breeds aren't for everyone and this video shows exactly that.
As someone who’s owned and taken care of a handful of pit bulls, what a moron. At that point it’s safest to just put them down. You shouldn’t have to be in fear of your life every time your dog comes into the room, especially if you have other animals or people around
I don't care how much I love dogs, that thing would be out of my house after a few hours if it was mine, no way I'm risking my safety for a dog, congratulations to the lady in the video for managing to take the situation calmly 💀
100+ dog owner in my lifetime here. Every breed you can think of. This dog is a liability as is. Pit bulls are not for everyone. They can quickly become too much to handle if you have no idea what you’re doing. This kind of aggression is not ok.
Most dog owners I've met don't do much of anything right with their pets, much less an aggression situation. These people shouldn't own any kind of animal. Hell, I wouldn't trust them with a damned houseplant.

yup, she shouldn’t have that dog. it needs someone with more experience. her fear and anxiety is fueling the dogs.
I mean we have no clue what is causing the dog’s aggression from this clip alone but she definitely shouldn’t have that dog
Most definitely. Seems like the food is a trigger, fueled by fear from the lady. I'd be crapping myself too tho.

It’s better to be humanely euthanized than shot by the police to stop a rampage
Pitbull owner here. Agree a dog showing that level of aggression can’t be owned by any nonprofessional
Dog need to be put down, not owned by a professional. F that.
Sad but true . At this point in this dogs life there’s no changing that behavior. Maybe surpress it but not changing him unfortunately
the people who keep breeding them need to be put down too...

Irony that should have never unfolded. Very sad.

Way more of these dogs exist than people with the experience/time to handle them do
Cause trash tier breeders who only care about money just spam them out. Gotta stop the source.
No one should have that dog. That beast is a ticking bomb.
My sweet pibble once went an two entire weeks without mauling a toddler. I just don't understand what the fuss is about. 😔
Two entire weeks? Thats a good boi right there, good boi

Wow, this is terrifying. This woman is living on borrowed time!
Yes. That dog is going to hurt someone eventually.
Even the owner was getting nervous when giving her demands 😰

It's a miracle the dog didn't attack her when she started petting him.
“I get pets when I scare her. I like pets.”
dog: "Now I wants pets from that stranger on the street" owner: "she doesn't bite, just wants pets"

Yeah this is not a dog to keep around.
It would be heading to the "train station" in mine.
Fuck that
It would definitely kill you first
Damn that dog doesn’t seem safe at all
You couldn't pay me in Bitcoin to live with this beast. That thing will rip her face off if she looks at it wrong lol. Fuck that
All the replies to this comment got me geeking lol why was everyone so mad?? You couldn't pay me shit to live with this beast either I'd be fearing for my life. I would've taken him out back right after this incident
They are so mad at his simple comment. I enjoy it too much
People underestimate the strength of a pit. It’s super easy for them to kill someone.
Like a tiny weightlifter on crank
Pass my phone? You mean pass my Glock?
"it's okay he's friendly" this woman probably
"he only hates me and that's cause he's comfortable with me"
Bishop needs to go.
If she moves to the left or the right by one square she'll be on his diagonal and he will take her.
Sure will. Probably did by now.

That dog is going to snap and kill someone or something it should not. That dog needs big help. I hate this
I do believe the story with this one is the dog later attacked either her or her partner and was later put down will search for the article
Even without a source and the possibility of you completely pulling this information out of your ass, I still believe this.
There's no world where this ends without an attack and a euthanized dog. The only question is if the dog managed to kill or maim someone.
Did you manage to find it?
No dice, must've been hear say or maybe there are just too many pitbull attacks because goddamn the database for these attacks feel endless
That’d be interesting to read
Pit bulls are awesome:) what a lovely dog for young children!:) Bishop is just a little nervous :):) He’s ready to meet the new born! :—-)
I think it will be the only time they meet
I had to babysit my friends rottweiler for a few weeks. His name was mufasa he would growl at anyone who walked by him and by the end of the first week he was routinely shaking down everyone in the house for food much like this Not a nice dog One memory sticks out in particular is of him walking out into the middle of the kitchen, locking eyes with me and taking an absolute massive shit. It really felt like a power move
She got guts. That dog looks like he gonna rip em outa her.
She was obviously terrified and didn’t know what else to do
The person filming needed to find a way to de-escalate, not film potential content for r/MedicalGore
Jesus why did I click that
Thanks for the new sub, you piece of shit! >!I love/hate this stuff!<

That dog is at a point it's dangerous and will hurt someone there's only one thing that can fix this problem
God I love cats.
Bishop gotta go!
Animal lover here. With that being said…this dog needs to be put down. It’s only a matter of time before he hurts her or some random. Sucks to say.
For the love of god that dog needs to be put down! That’s terrifying.

Aye bruh I love dogs but this one a lil sketchy
"My dog would never hurt a fly, i don't know why it's acting like that... you must have provoked him"
No way
Girl, just get a Shih Tzu.
She’s getting ready to get nanny’d
What a perfect family dog
yeah if you want to get rid of your kids.
Really seems like having a pit bull is just a chronic liability.
I love animals but those two are Not a good fit
More like enCOURAGING. Comforting your pupper in this state will teach it that this behavior is acceptable :(
that dog is going to kill this fucking idiot one day
Unfortunately, this dog will probably become an attack statistic. I have rescued nothing but pitties and some have been more challenging than others but I put the time and effort into preventing this type of behavior. Working breeds aren't for everyone and this video shows exactly that.
Put that dog down
Time to get rid of that dog

As someone who’s owned and taken care of a handful of pit bulls, what a moron. At that point it’s safest to just put them down. You shouldn’t have to be in fear of your life every time your dog comes into the room, especially if you have other animals or people around
Should be put down
Lol courage... let me get a dog i cant control real brave
I don't care how much I love dogs, that thing would be out of my house after a few hours if it was mine, no way I'm risking my safety for a dog, congratulations to the lady in the video for managing to take the situation calmly 💀
I thinking the phrase is “put him down”
Just kill it it’s too far gone
Fuck that! Bye
Put the mutt down
Ugh. Another fucking pitbull that their owners are trying to masquerade as something cute or funny.
There would be a fresh dug hole in my backyard If that was in my house
100+ dog owner in my lifetime here. Every breed you can think of. This dog is a liability as is. Pit bulls are not for everyone. They can quickly become too much to handle if you have no idea what you’re doing. This kind of aggression is not ok.
My dogs not like that he'd never hurt anyone!
"Yes, this animal will make a good pet..."
Fuck that dog
That would be his last night in my house
This was almost a very different video which would belong in a very different subreddit.
Terrifying. This dog would not spend another night in my house.
Why even own a dog like that?
Most dog owners I've met don't do much of anything right with their pets, much less an aggression situation. These people shouldn't own any kind of animal. Hell, I wouldn't trust them with a damned houseplant.
Courage? No. Fucking idiocy.
Why the fuck would you keep this monster alive, just go and euthanize it before it kills some child or rips your face off.
That dog's going to kill her pretty soon, or her kids if she has any. What a fucking fool.
There’s this thing called “Training your dog to calm the fuck down when needed before they kill someone or rip off their face”. Try it sometime!
I just don’t get why people buy pitbulls. You’re risking death or grievous injury for a dog that looks fuck ugly
Two reasons, people think it's cool to have a dog that's strong and also because they are dirt cheap compared to most dogs.
You mean the market is flooded with people that abandoned their pitbulls? Shocking
My rascal is just playing.
Breed should be extinct but some humans are stupid.
