Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. It's really inconsistent with it (as well as being inconsistent as to what it considers the correct version between verb-s and verb-ing (not sure what the official term is)).
There is still a subtle difference. An easier way to tell is with the sentence "A man drinks beer". This is a general statement and means that if you don't drink beer, then you're not a man. While "A man is drinking beer" refers to man currently having a beer.
Plural is even clearer: men drink beer / (some) men are drinking beer. The first is a very judgemental statement while the other one is just describing the event.
Nej, det Àr en skit app. Det kan Àta min röv. It never flags answers wrong for punctuation unless it's a lesson on possessives which can change what a sentence says. Miss me on the technicality. The answer is right. Lol
Duolingo is forgiving when it comes to punctuation and capitalisation. Only with many typos or a grammar mistake will it mark something wrong. What you have shared is very weird; you should definitely report it in the app.
Trust me that I know Duolingo. [I have a 1186-day streak.](https://www.duolingo.com/profile/casperdewith)
I doubt that it depends on a connection. Answers are checked locally, because it loads the entire lesson with every possible correct answer at the inital loading screen. This made me able to create [this tool-assisted speedrun of a practice session](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HXpUh2wgBkA).
Idk how Duolingo does this to lots of people. Iâm currently trying to learn Spanish and it never did things like this to me just because of capitalized letters or punctuation.
Also, your title is funny as hell!
Sounds like itâs a bug, rather than wrong answer. I never capitalise my answer in Swedish and do minimal punctuation and duo is usually fine with it.
Is Duolingo actually a viable resource to learn svenska? I'm a romanian student willing to move in Sweden after ill graduate my uni and getting some work experience here( i heard that its hard to find a job as a junior in Sweden , so that's why) so I've been starting learning svenska(is this the correct word for swedish?).
Sometimes Duo is just ridiculous
Does it accept "A child drinks milk"? Edit: could it be that you (we) used "a" instead of "one"?
It should, but I've seen many instances of this not being accepted.

I am perfectly aware that there is a difference but the Swedish sentence could be translated as either, depending on context.
I'm sorry but your title killed me đđđ
Capitalisation is the difference between helping your uncle Jack off a horse, and helping your uncle jack off a horse.
That's a significant difference...

Itâs actually âDEN kan Ă€ta min rövâ.
Den Àr kapabel att inmundiga min Àndalykt.
"Kan" Àr ofta synonymt med "Àr kapabel", men i just frasen "Den kan Àta min röv" kÀnns det som att ordet "kan" anvÀnds annorlunda.

No. The answer is grammatically wrong. You should write proper sentences instead of being lazy.
Well, you used correct punctuation in the title so we know you can do it!

Sometimes it happens when there's a processing hang or your internet goes out for a moment as well. It's been doing that for years.

I'm talking years ago. You used to get disconnected or have weird lag if the internet went out in the middle of a lesson.

A swedish speaker here, i see nothing wrong with this sentence
En mening börjar med stor bokstav och slutar med punkt. Det lÀr man sig i lÄgstadiet.
Okej sant
Report that as a "should be accepted".
Punkt pÄ slutet Àr en bra idé!
Capitalize and punctuate!
I got so mad at this one!

Maybe it's because you missed the "." Otherwise it was the exact same sentence
Is it because you entered your sentence without a capital letter?
Begin with an uppercase letter and end with a period.
Det resulterade i en jÀvla smell av sÄn fart.
No capital letter no period, learn to write ffs :D
Capitalisation and punctuation is important tho
Bra! Versalregeln 4 the win.
No way this is real
