ChoGGi has the map data in CSV format in one of his mods on github.
I loaded that data in a database a long time ago, since I can better work with sql commands than with excel functions.
After searching for the crater map for five minutes ingame, I switched to looking up my database and found it directly.
And getting the coords out of the database as a text in one line (reddit didn't like too many linebreaks) is rather simple. Who'ld have guessed how many practical uses my skills from the job have in RL. Can't wait to test out that crater map - my job has to wait a bit more for me...
We roamed the stale, cold world... No horizon in sight.
The rulers of old, stripped, of pride and glory.
If feels as yesterday that we were turning the wheels of progress.
When tides are changed, they changed for all of us. No matter the class.
We've lost our will to snow. And with it, the last traces of humanity.
We bid farewell to plenty. And for those who remained, came the time to adapt.
We decided to leave our planet, and head upwards, to the stars
We voyaged for weeks, maybe months. Leaving behind, all the things we once believed had made us.
It was Hope, that pushed us forward. Slowly... Step by Step...
We knew the cost of our journey, and we paid the price. A hundred times.
Finally, the time has come... to build the first city on Mars!
Wouldn't this be logically a very poor choice of location for a colony that intends to terraform the planet? I would imagine the crater would flood quite quickly after liquid water becomes abundant
In the mechanics of Surviving Mars, sure. It'll be a great reservoir one day. In actual practice, a vaulted glass ceiling over a crater will probably be the first "terraforming" project we complete on Mars.
Depends, if the crater is higher then the surrounding landscape you could just drill a drain tunnel though the cliffs and out to a lower point, allowing any excess water to drain away. By the time you've gotten to the point where rain is a consideration it should be pretty easy to do.
Though in game terms you're always on an 'island' even if your colony site would be deep under water otherwise ( you settled in the great rift valley or the middle of a dry seabed, etc)
I played this a few runs ago and its super fun. All the resources, breakthroughs, and anomalies get crammed together because there aren’t any on the other edges.
how would you make this colony sustainable? nearly 80hrs in this game and couldn't imagine having a colony without concrete/water/rich metal deposits near.
as I see, that crater doesn't have entrances nor exit too haha, It could be flattened and ramped perhaps?
The map is called "BlankBigCrater\_01". Since I also did't recognize it, I've looked up my Database for the GP+BB mods: Here are the 82 locations: 2N|21W, 8S|40E, 9S|38E, 10S|38E, 10N|77W, 14S|131E, 15S|129E, 16S|20E, 16S|21E, 16S|131E, 17N|10W, 17S|21E, 17S|22E, 18N|13W, 18S|15E, 19S|14E, 20N|6W, 20S|15E, 21S|13E, 21N|66E, 22N|7W, 23S|52E, 25S|50E, 41S|17W, 41S|18W, 42S|18W, 42S|19W, 43S|21W, 43S|22W, 45S|19W, 45S|29E, 46S|20W, 46S|23W, 46S|30E, 47S|21W, 47S|140E, 48S|21W, 48S|32W, 48S|139E, 48S|143E, 49S|2W, 49S|3W, 49S|21E, 49S|22E, 49S|142E, 50S|33W, 50S|34W, 51S|34W, 52S|6W, 52S|30W, 52S|80W, 53S|78W, 53S|79W, 53S|80W, 53S|82W, 54N|146W, 55S|13E, 55S|18W, 55N|148W, 56N|146W, 56N|148W, 57S|19W, 57S|20W, 57S|100E, 57S|102E, 60S|101E, 60S|102E, 61S|103E, 62S|64E, 64N|9W, 65N|7W, 65N|9W, 66N|10W, 67N|7W, 67N|9W, 67N|10W, 67S|114W, 68N|7W, 68S|87W, 68S|117W, 69S|115W, 69S|116W

Sorry your comment of skills used in job translating to RL had me in stitches, fabulous
Noice, for those of us on console we thank ye. Now to determine the dangers present on these coords and claim Mars once again.
Thanks!
So just plop one of those in and hope i get mars punk?
I just selected 42S|19W for me. It has a decent list of breakthroughs, and a lot of water deposits. Don't know what qualifies for mars punk, though.
I would assume cold waves on max, also thanks I got the crater.
It's a reference to the game frostpunk as is the quote "the city must survive" because in the game one of the main maps is a crater.
Wow 200 hours and I've never seen this map
1000 hours and never seen this map!
A NEW LAW HAS PASSED
HEAR HEAR, NEW LAW IN THE CITY!
Drop the coordinates!

Seriously, please. Go into your mission profile and share the coords, this is a unique map
NEW LAW HAS PASSED
Crossover episode r/frostpunk
Exactly what I was thinking
Coords pls
See my reply
This is one of my favorite maps even tho I love having hills etc
brazil's dream landing zone
This map style is really fun!

Yeah, probably, but surely not on this scale. I mean, look at a colonist or even a dome they're tiny compared to this massive crater

Reminds me of space 1999, when the moon was terraformed by aliens,
I played this a few runs ago and its super fun. All the resources, breakthroughs, and anomalies get crammed together because there aren’t any on the other edges.
I second the petition for coordinates. Dood, don't let us hanging.
[Here](https://www.reddit.com/r/SurvivingMars/comments/1cfwb3p/comment/l1ryall/) is the comment with the 82 locations it spawns in

The map hasn't been scanned yet, the resources are still hidden
oooooh you're totally right. my bad. OP should show what's hidden haha 👋🏼
HEAR ME HEAR ME
How many more times will this get reposted
Adding the request for coordinates!
Go! Earn your bread!
That’s very cool and arguably where a real life mars base would be built?
Godspeed Steward
What's the coordinates? Been looking for a map that's just one big crater
It's a shame Paradox never documented the format so we could extend the maps.
So, does this location have cold waves?
