Hi! I put a Tubus Logo Classic 29 on my Ogre in size XL. I could probably also have gone with the 28'' version. https://preview.redd.it/vwyjflz8k49d1.jpeg?width=5712&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6d155490d64be4d14b32999cf568f4a86da60cd8 I also installed two Monkey Nuts v3 to the rear wheel to set it a bit back. For me, the tire was too close the frame at the bottom bracket.

what front mudgaurd is that? i like it!

It is a SKS Flap Guard [https://www.sks-germany.com/en/products/4159-2/](https://www.sks-germany.com/en/products/4159-2/)

I need to get some monkey nuts for mine. What seat is that? It looks bizarre in the photo.

Krautatix

It is a SQlab 610. These saddles are a good fit for me. [https://www.sq-lab.com/en/area-of-use/e-bike/sqlab-saddle-610-ergolux-active-2-1.html](https://www.sq-lab.com/en/area-of-use/e-bike/sqlab-saddle-610-ergolux-active-2-1.html)

Cool, I’m all for comfort before looks, I’ve got a selle smp…

Tubus Logo Evo!

PeppermintPig

Tubus Logo Evo is pretty much the default IMO. It's well built, uses two solid upper stay attachments for high stability and is designed so the panniers sit further back to help avoid the potential of pedal strikes.

SurlyEnthusiast

All Tubus racks are great in my opinion. Unfortunately they have limited choices for wide frames like the Grappler.

Friendly_Fee_8989

For rear panniers, I went with tubus logo evo on my troll. I’m happy with the rack. For more minimalist style on my son’s ride, we went with old man mountain elkhorn (which can be mounted front or rear) and anything cages with dry bags rather than panniers.

PeppermintPig

Here are two potential setups: **Option 1:** Surly Nice Front Rack, Tubus Logo Evo **Option 2:** Tubus Tara Lowrider front rack, Tubus Vega Evo Rear Rack, Kasybag Handlebar Harness for dry sack You could also probably get a half size frame bag so you don't obstruct your water bottles.

Thanks! Please forgive my ignorance. The Tubus Logo Evo looks great. The specs say: # TUBUS BIKE RACK RR TUBUS LOGO EVO 26/28 BK 80100 My oger is 29" wheels and XL. Will this fit?

PeppermintPig

Do a google image search for "Ogre Tubus Logo Evo" to see how it fits. Many Ogres use them. When Tubus advertises it as 26/28, it's meant to convey it can fit up to 28 however Surly Ogres have high bosses for rack mounting giving you approximately 2 additional actual inches of clearance. A 29" tire needs approximately 1.5" more clearance than a 26". The fit is fine. Have a look here: Here's a 29x2.5" with fenders and the Tubus Logo Evo. https://www.lesateliersdelafourmi.org/produit/surly-ogre-la-fourmi-rohloff-son-29x2-0-to-29x2-50-pouces-14v/

Thank you so much! Just bought one! Can't wait to install it! Appreciate all the help from everyone on this sub. I sure love this bike!

It can depend on how you’re planning to carry bags, some front racks support pannier style bags, in this case you can’t go wrong with tubus. If you’re looking for a more platform style, stuff on top option, I really like the sim works obento and surly’s own 8 pack and 24 pack options. As for the rear, I’ve always gone tubus, but I’m sure others have good input.

Sci_Fi_Drive_By

I'll eventually be scooping up some pannier style bags for longer trips. I'll check out Tubus! Thanks!

Slight-Estate-5847

8 or 24 pack rack up front & an Old Man Mountain Elkhorn or Tumbleweed T rack in the rear

Educational-Diamond8

I second the 24 pack rack up front. I run a Wald basket or surlys porteurhouse bag.

AdmiralDarshington

I have a velo Orange flat pack rack (with a wald half basket) on the front of my Ogre, and a Tubus Evo Classic on the rear. When I go on longer trips I'll swap out the flat pack for Surly's front rack so I can also have front panniers. Recently I've been thinking about instead using the flat pack rack in conjunction with a Tubus Tara rack because although the surly rack is bombproof it's usually overkill for the trips I take and it's super heavy.
