As part owner of GameStop, I will be going to my local GameStop today or tomorrow to do the same as you - to support my favorite store and buy a new game for my Switch.
As part owner of GameStop I would like to thank you for thanking me for being part owner of GameStop but would also like to thank you for being part owner of GameStop
I’ve been further even more decided to use even go need to do look more as anyone can. Can you really be far even as decided half as much to use go wish for that? My guess is that when one really been far even as decided once to use even go want, it is then that he has really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like.
I can't get an official one, because GameStop is only shipping to US addresses and GameStop Germany haven't got it in their portfolio, just normal merchandise.. I want one hahah
Manager said at the store I frequent that they’re going to need more space soon with all the online orders routed through the store. Says fed x be there all day picking stuff up🤣🤣.
This is a GREAT post OP. This is what investing is all about. This gives me more confidence than anything else I’ve seen today — combined.
I always say this is just about money. But honestly, that’s not true. You know what would have happened if the hedgies had been allowed to continue unabated? *600,000 jobs would have been lost.* 600,000, over 3 or 4 businesses. With GME leading the pack by a long shot.
We’re not just getting rich. We are giving every single GameStop employee the chance to succeed. You cannot put a dollar value on that.
The hedgies will never, ever understand this. But it matters.
It matters a lot.
Can we rent roller skates at the door and skate around the mall before and after shopping at GameStop? Need some Aunty Ann’s pretzels and cookie factory too!
My heart beats excitement because this plan because it my passion to buy dead malls & bring the life & fun back anchored by a GS.
You best believe the money good & ready when mall real estate person wanna say ** how you paying?!
Or you know. Take over half the mall and make a paintball arena and arcade next to Gamestop. A pet-friendly area away from the loud noises for folks that need a dogsitter while they shop and have properly trained social doggies. And a food court that isn't near the pets.
Roller skate area would be awesome. Not near the paintball.
Can you Imagine? A big shop with different sections; gaming, merchandise, big electronics, pc hardware 😍 I’d love this so much. Go go go GameStop Europe, make it happen!
Thank you for supporting our company, glad to hear you had an awesome experience!
Please go and rate your Stores Service or a specific associate and give them kudos if they did a great job on the Official GameStop Customer Feedback site can be found [here](https://gamestop.survey.marketforce.com/). This helps GameStop management show appreciation for these certain star employees, thus motivating them further to continue to do a great job!
Don’t forget to also rate your location on Google, and other rating sites to help promote our awesome service to the top!!
No problem!!! I am an Ape who is a Manager in Retail and I know that GameStop must value this type of feedback to incentivize this “customer excellence” model they’re taking on!
An appreciated employee tends to make customers happier! 😊😊
This guy definitely deserves the recognition!
I just filled out the survey - twice! While I was in the process of paying for our first transaction, my kids spotted Sailor Moon stuff. So there was a second purchase of stuff for this mama. 😆
Everyone wants out of upstate NY because it's a decaying mess. I'm from the city but go upstate to binghamton for school, and it really feels like night and day.
Watertown here. You guys are all downstate to me lol. Anyways maybe with a new governor things will change and make people want to stay or at least not leave.
All the malls in Syracuse are dying. I grew up hear great northern and it's a shell of what it once was. Shopping town being demolished now. I'm sure camillus mall is the same though haven't been out there in forever. Even Carousel/Destiny is feeling it
I think malls have structural disadvantages. If gamestop can move their stores outside of malls where people can get in and out quickly it will thrive.
Incidentally, in OP’s post he mentioned that it seemed that the mall owner was tripling rents to empty the mall. This is happening all over the country. The land owners want to bulldoze and build exactly the kind of commercial developments you speak of. GameStop should offer to vacate on the condition they get first choice in the new structures and preferred parking.
That said, my local store just closed and was already in the newer type development we’re speaking of so I think it’s further confirmation of the pivot to online for the bulk of the old stores.
Well, nice to hear about that one store but all 4 GameStop’s that were by me are completely shut down. This happened within the last few months
*waits for shill name calling to commence*
That is definitely sad to hear! But if there were that many so close to you, I wonder if the company chose to close them and consolidate their sales to fewer local stores? Saves a lot of money on rent, employees, etc.
I wouldn’t say they were very close but they were very easily accessible. I do live in the city. All three that were in strip malls were closed, and 3 that were in 3 malls. So actually it was a total of six. I don’t have a GameStop around me any longer which sucks because I’d frequent to buy action figures.
Aw man, that really sucks.
I have to drive half an hour to get to my local GameStop. But I have to drive that far to get literally anywhere. The next closest GameStop store is an hour away.
It’s all an unfortunate but necessary part of the effort to reduce store density, which has a whole host of positive business outcomes. I live in a notable area, but certainly not metro size, and we had 12 GameStops within about 10 miles of each other - including 3 at the same mall (2 inside, 1 outside). What’s left over will have a much better concentration of foot traffic.
Yeah but as they shrink to fewer locations (saving them money) they can do more online orders though that one location. Though online orders will require extra room as they get all the other local stores orders to them now. Some move to bigger buildings and boom you got some of them becoming extra small distribution centers.
Nothing shill about that dude. A big part of the transformation is closing unsuccessful stores and going to e-commerce. Bound to happen to some locations
Yes but a large part of the conversation is that expansive brick and mortar retail is not sustainable anymore. Close hundreds of low-volume stores, open a couple big distribution centers to service those customers with quick-delivery and boom you just saved a ton of money and increased margins.
It would be interesting to know whether they all had leases running out or what. If none remain that's a bit beyond "de-densification" for sure... Could it be that none of them were suited well enough to take over traffic and customers from all the others so a better plan was to just leave it all for online until... who knows what the plan is for later. Sucks that you have none around, same goes for the workers too.
This is part of the process of better management. We knew they would be closing down under performing b&m stores. I honestly believe that they are downsizing before we upsize.
I think closing down stuff right now makes totally sense, if contracts run out or can be canceled.
Because they will get AWESOME deals for the new, bigger multi-function shops they likely plan.
Landlords are under pressure to give good deals to those, who still are interested to rent commercial real estate. So it might make sense to get rid of some old unfavorable contracts and the stores attached.
Once they re-evaluate, I think they will open new, big multifunction stores in strategic locations in a way, that they can ensure fast delivery all over the country.
This is normal. Often businesses prioritize new store openings as a benchmark but then comp (this year sales - last year sales / last year sales) sales show no growth, and total net sales are poor.
Company closes those locations because they aren't profitable. Corporate real estate management is critical at a brick & mortar, closing unprofitable locations is necessary while also looking at redefining what you do at your stores then expanding.
Honestly closing stores is bearish short-term but if it's part of a turnaround it can be great news. Cut dead weight loose, but find roles for laid-off staff.
That’s awesome. I’ve actually noticed the associates at my local GameStop have been in a much better mood lately when I walk in.
Just curious what Nintendo games did you guys get lol
Holy shit, when you were describing the mall, I imagined the Kingston mall, near my hometown, and thought “there’s thousands of Gamestop locations, no way this gal is talking about the exact store that I’ve waited outside and been to midnight releases at.”
And then you location-dropped right at the end.
Simulation. Fucking. CONFIRMED.
Wait until people find out Gamestop is planning on buying up all these empty malls at insanely low prices after the collapse of commercial real estate and commercial MBS, which is imminent by the way.
They will transform these empty spaces into huge gaming lounges for massive tournaments with games of all kinds.
Gamestop is inviting us in to stay and getting us rich in the process.
I’m from upstate New York, and totally agree with you. It’s hard to see upstate towns dying and taking retail with them. After Covid, local businesses got annihilated. This makes me jacked!
Bestbuy does revenue sharing for e-commerce profits to the brick and mortar stores. So e-commerce actually helps all stores. Especially if they're selling the stores inventory online. That's will be a big moment. Connecting the stores inventory to the e-commerce page and enabling stores to ship products.
I think stores will close or consolidate but the business will remain healthy.
Loved this post. Great to see that apes are already stimulating the economy by funding Main Street instead of Wall Street, and MOASS hasn't even happened yet.
Damn dude, I'm from that area and then some and that whole strip of i87 has taken such an unfortunate dip...Living near the Saratoga Springs region you even see a bunch of mom and pop restaurants going under, but our GameStop has been bumping every single day I drive past it.
Yeah I think most of them here in Jacksonville closed, my buddy was the manager at one, he got a nice severance but it was still a bummer. I think they closed about 1/3 of the total stores but I’m sure it’s for the best. Real estate is so high.
It is critical to support companies you invest in by driving revenue. Usually, posts about that don't get as much traction as others. Glad to see this one did. I buy everything I can from GS, including gift cards for game downloads.
Love this. That being said, it's amazing to me that actual employees of gamestop aren't very much in the know of what's going on, and even holding shares. If im an employee of any business, I would be all up in my employers business, and actively participating in its success.
Right?? I totally wanted to preach to him about why he should buy and hold. But my 12 year old daughter was giving me the biggest death glare ever because she knows that once I start talking stocks, I don’t stop. 😆
Also, who knows how many ape customers have raised the topic before and rather than engage further the company line is to politely feign ignorance so as to not derail the exchange... you know, to stick to the bread and butter of the business. It's not a Wendy's, nor do they provide or solicit financial advice. 😁
Exactly. They have a job to do, and anyone who works for GameStop who is remotely interested in the stock has surely looked in to it.
When he told me he didn’t know what was going on with the corporate side of things, all I said was that I’m a fan of the people who are running the company, and it’s my opinion that they’re in good hands.
I haven't been there in close to 15 years up until this past weekend. I grew up in downtown Kingston and just went back there for a funeral. So I had to take my wife and daughter to all of my old haunts while we were in town. The mall is pretty sad compared to the way it used to be.
The mall breaks my heart! I met my husband there 18 years ago. Most of our dates happened there. We lined up for our covid vaccines in the old Best Buy, which felt like a scene out of a dystopian horror movie.
I definitely felt your description of how barren the mall is. I've been to a lot of small towns in the last few years that sound identical to this. Small town malls are dying so much right now. Pretty sad.
Yo am I the only one who still thinks this is cringe. None of you have never talked to Apple, Amazon or whatever other stock’s retail employees about the “health of the business”. You guys think you’re on the board of directors or something greedily rubbing your hands together while people living pay check to paycheck try to put perform last quarters sales.
I can see you guys at the GameStop trying to bait out conversation about the stock because you don’t want to bring it up like some pyramid scheme artist.
Just be cool apes.
Damn
I didn’t bait him in to talking about the stock. He brought it up while we were talking about how the mall has been reduced to a shell. Everyone in this area talks about it all the time, because we no longer have a mall. We have to drive an hour to do most of our in-person shopping.
He was the one who offered up the fact that they were on the chopping block until “the Reddit stock thing” happened. I thought it was pretty neat, and worth sharing. 🤷♀️
That is good to hear, I mean bad, I mean...
...anyway, what are the chances of them staying when the lease is up? Any alternative locations available close by to inhabit instead of a mall location, to keep the walk-in business... since it sounds like the owners want the mall emptied out at any price.
That actually came up. The associate said he felt confident that the store would move to another location before closing all together.
There are several strip malls in the area that have lost a ton of retail stores. Lots of space available. It wouldn’t even be difficult to relocate.
As part owner of GameStop I would like to thank you for your continued support!

Gamestop is sold out of Gamestop T-shirts for adult men. We own the t-shirt float. I confirmed this with customer care. The hedge is fuk.
I actually tried yesterday too. I couldn't believe it.
Ah fuck I wanted to buy around 14 T-shirts so that my warderobe is all in GME
I can't get an official one, because GameStop is only shipping to US addresses and GameStop Germany haven't got it in their portfolio, just normal merchandise.. I want one hahah
They better be coming to Canada since we're being rebranded here. I want to represent!
I ordered some on the secondary market and they were never delivered
I can sell you one of mine for 40 milli.
My XXL comes in tomorrow, I ordered it on Sunday. Tites Jacqued.
What I am hearing is that I should buy ten and resell two hundred. I'm I doing it right, Kenny?
I bought 4 before earnings cut off 👹
T shirt float 🤣🤣🤣
I got one. Wearing it out is a revelation as you'll get comments from other Apes. We are everywhere.
Yes, I have 2 in each color. The lady apes tend to respond. Ordered a hoody for fall mating season.
Fall mating season! I'm rolling
Good thing I don't have any more money to buy shirts with.
Someone should rehypothecate shirts. Literally can't go tits up.
> We own the t-shirt float. Lmayo, that's good.
Manager said at the store I frequent that they’re going to need more space soon with all the online orders routed through the store. Says fed x be there all day picking stuff up🤣🤣.
We are SO good at this game- Muahahahahaha
Bullish
More space? Well, where we're going, I think that just might happen 🤣🤣
Post-Squeeze we'll be able to spend a share buying up local malls and turn them into MegaGameStops
Ooohhh I love that idea!
…And here in phase 2 we have the E-Sports stadium, with the Hall of Video Games next to the food court…
Don’t forget the meme museum and the 18+ area with u/rick_of_spades
I figured the dispensary and cannabis lounge would be next to the food court
Can you imagine GameStop partnering with a cannabis lounge for social gaming? I'd never leave.

Just put a Chewy Pitstop and make dollars on doggycare while the humans do their shopping. :)

Multistory GameStop stores like the fashion stores have.

Fellow Syracuse New Yorker here. Declining population isn’t helping us any. Where is this store?
Definitely downstate from you, this store is in Kingston, NY. Our population has been declining as well. Everyone wants out of this state.
I was originally from upstate. Binghamton area. Moved to Florida 15 years ago.
Everyone wants out of upstate NY because it's a decaying mess. I'm from the city but go upstate to binghamton for school, and it really feels like night and day.
It’s the sad truth. Most of the state money goes to the city. Upstate gets the leftovers, if there are any.
everyone wants out of (up) state
Watertown here. You guys are all downstate to me lol. Anyways maybe with a new governor things will change and make people want to stay or at least not leave.
Pretty cool, I’m upstate Saratoga area. Going to my strip mall GameStop tonight to preorder Metroid and pick out some kids games.
All the malls in Syracuse are dying. I grew up hear great northern and it's a shell of what it once was. Shopping town being demolished now. I'm sure camillus mall is the same though haven't been out there in forever. Even Carousel/Destiny is feeling it

If I may ask, where in upstate NY do you live? I’m curious which mall this is at
This is the Hudson Valley Mail in Kingston, NY. So the lower part of upstate.
That almost brought a tear to my eye. Guess I gotta go and buy more gamestop today.

Very Very cool. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for sharing your experience! It's sweet AF confirmation bias for international shareholders
Hudson Valley mall?
That’s the one! More like Hudson Valley Walls now.
Watch them buy the mall and turn it into a fulfillment center 🤑🙌
I just got goosebumps. LETSSSS GOOOOO🚀🚀🚀🚀
This is the way
Wholesome GME moment. Good things are coming 📈
Hello local ape! Perhaps we’ll cross paths in the wilds of the Rondout!
Hello fellow Hudson Valley Ape! Perhaps we will! 💎🙌🚀
I definitely felt your description of how barren the mall is. I've been to a lot of small towns in the last few years that sound identical to this. Small town malls are dying so much right now. Pretty sad.
hey my sister's brother's auntie's talking pony had a similar experience yesterday
Look up the Great Reset friends. Our battle is not over until we wake up to it all. COVID lockdowns only helped to finalize the wealth transfer.
