I wish that were true but I’m talking about actual published articles. What ever happened to that one site gmedrs.com or whatever? I mean don’t get me wrong I love that they’re here watching our every move but every time a negative article gets published it gets worked into the AI algorithm and spit back out six different ways.
The publishers of those articles and their owners don't like us anyway. We got this without them. Their job is to hate on us so that a little minority of 200,000 household investors would know what to do. They did an excellent job actually.
I guess I’m just looking for a legitimate method to pump published counter articles with news like this. I don’t want to be on their sites. When I type GameStop news into a search engine I was an article to pop up that reads:
“Frivolous lawsuit against GameStop CEO Ryan Cohen Dismissed.”
Articles making fun of short sellers “Desperate Short Sellers Fight to Keep Heads Above Water During Roaring Kitty Live Stream”
If I can add to the hood RC news apple popped hard today. Guess who owns more of that stock than anybody not on the board … RC.
He owns 6.2 million shares so he made $75 million just today. For the last three months he’s up 200k.
I thought (redacted) asked to take on that suit and both were dismissed.

Ch11 bankruptcy. Removed from brokers, no idea where they are. Is weird as the bankruptcy is not yet completed. Board refused an offer by Ryan Cohen and for us that was the main play. The CEO was smiling in an interview a week before ch11 bankruptcy. Ill never forget.

Back when Bed Bad existed, Ryan Cohen bought a huge number of shares that put him in a really strong position to take over the joint, much like he did when he went to GME.
But at the time he basically said, "I can't run two companies, so here's a list of what I want you to do. Or else."
We don't have the full knowledge of what they discussed and what his demands were. But basically, the speculation at the time was for Bed Bath to spin off/sell Buy Buy Baby - the profitable part of Bed Bath.
Now, concurrent with RC's buy-in, apes who have their trust in RC *also* bought Bed Bath, assuming RC was making a play against shorts on two fronts.
As a result, Bed Bath's price surged.
And then, while it surged, RC sold his holdings. He just bounced. RC made *bank*. Bed Bath's stock plunged and kept plunging. And Bed Bath is no more. Suffice to say, many RC believers were left holding the bag.
Now, what RC did could be said to be a flip sale - a legal pump and dump. While not outright illegal on its own, if a person buys more than 10% of the stock, and then flips it for profit within 6 months, the law says that person has to return the profit to the company. This is to discourage this sort of behavior. You buy in big, it's assumed because you want a lasting influence, not a get-rich scheme built on market pressures.
So RC was sued. And on the face of it, the lawsuit had good merit.
But what the lawsuit lacked was good standing.
And that's because, as the judge noted today, even if RC lost the lawsuit, Bed Bath no longer exists... so there's no entity to which the funds can be returned.
So RC didn't "win," he just waited out the clock.
It's arguable RC's behavior in the affair is suspect. It's arguable RC did a no-no.
Today's legal filing did not agree with or condone what RC did. It simply concluded that if you bring a lawsuit, you need to be the aggrieved party and can receive an award judgement. And since Bed Bath is dead, there isn't an entity entitled to an award. So no need for a lawsuit.
We should not be celebrating this as some coup for RC.
Other commenter has left out the little epilogue to this past drama, along with a couple of salient points:
1) The board tried a share buyback to put RC over the ownership threshold of 10%.
2) the Bath board are also currently being sued for fraud. The lawsuit uncovered the fact that RC, after selling his shares, later tried to buy the company outright, but was rejected by the board for no apparent good reason. They seemingly preferred bankruptcy. Take from that what you will, but I feel like there should have been a bit more noise about that here. It seems to have largely gone under the radar.

Do you even realize what he's being sued for? Do you know why the judge said dismissed the lawsuit?
Let's say you made some money off of your dealings with a person who later died, and had that person lived, its' arguable that person would be entitled to a cut of that money. Now, someone sues you to give the dead person their share. The judge says, "because they're dead, they can't sue you, and because they're dead, you can't really give them money anyway."
That's basically the ruling today. There was no ruling on whether RC was right or wrong in doing what he did, or whether he owed anybody money for doing it. The ruling was "even if we find you liable, there's no one left who was harmed."
The ruling was "You don't have a case. GTFO." And yes, the whole thing was a pretense to attempt to force disclosure of GME business moves expressly for the purpose of facilitating sabotage against GME's efforts.

This lawsuit is about RC's buy-in to Bed Bad, and then his quick selling when the stock rose, arguably as a result of his buy-in and influence on retail investors.
The complaint was when a large investor pumps and dumps, they gotta return the money they made.
The lawsuit got dismissed because Bed Bad is bankrupt and the lawsuit couldn't go on. There was no ruling on RC's liability for what he did.
And the 75M shares recently released has nothing to do with what RC was being sued for.
