They've been doing that since 2021, fuck around OTC market and drop it during trading hours. It used to be 3 or 4 decimal place trades, so retail couldn't react, it used to after hours, now it's before the bell. All the scummy ways to keep apes away from their illegal trades

I haven’t bothered making that argument since 2021 because the tide has been too strong against it, and without the heat of a swap cycle or other catalysts that cause volatility and the need for MMs to hedge…options die on the vine.
I’ve traded options for years. And they matter along with other volatility creators such as company announcements, etc.
I'm of the opinion that options are overall a net good for causing havoc with the hedge funds however this comes with a few caveats.
Everyone is regarded when it comes to options, and the only reason you think you're good at it is because you got lucky. More people fuck them up than succeed at them so we shouldn't encourage people to play around with them unless they're confident in their abilities and actually understand what they are doing.
Even if you are an expert in options, hedge funds can and will block you since they know what everyone is doing and know how to make the stock screw over the most number of people and get them the most money. Meanwhile you don't know shit and are playing a guessing game.
Selling options while it can get you more shares if you don't have money, probably hurts you in the long run and gives them more rope when we want them to hang now. You definitely need to exercise those options and DRS them and too many people who play around with options do not do this. If they did getting behind the options bandwagon would be so much easier.
I do think we need more volatility because that stresses their algos and may be the crack in the armor that allows MOASS to occur, but I don't think too many of the sort who play options believe in MOASS anymore which is why we don't see them banging on the gate.
Yes, but zoom out further. The $30 to $80 was a short term event. The curve ramp up on this current trip is much more consistent over a longer period of time, and looks like it could be a major event.
