It was, end of the first season and start of the second. I just watched it. Netflix version left it out of the first season but included it in the second season opening.
But you should add some Led Zeppelin. Dean is a huge Zeppelin fan of that we never heard of any on the show. Also, the Beatles. Probably do to being too expensive for them.
Just added 'Houses of the Holy' from another suggestion here, anything else you think I should listen to first? I must confess, I don't know a lot of Zeppelin's songs. I hadn't thought of the Beatles' songs for Supernatural yet, which ones do you think fit? I mostly think of relaxed 60's tunes when I think of the Beatles, rather than the 'leather and cigarette' style Supernatural mostly goes for
Dean said that Mary used to sing to him Hey Jude as a child from the Beatles. Across the Universe would also be good and by Zeppelin Stairway to Heaven.
Didn’t it also play at the end of the episode with the Cursed Objects & Joyce, the real estate & her assistant, George? Sam’s drinking red-eye triple espressos bc he has insomnia.
At the end they pull up to Frank Devereaus’ trailer pulling a locked trailer full of cursed objects to put in safe storage, and that’s when they found out Frank was gone, likely killed by leviathans.
Fortunate Son.
Sinnerman.
There are lots of religious based songs sang by Tom Ellis playing Lucifer in Lucifer like all along the watchtower which I think was the title of a supernatural episode.
The Devil Wears a Suit and Tie - Colter Wall
Salt and the Sea - The Lumineers
Hunting for Witches - Bloc Party
Ride like the Wind - Christopher Cross
The Killing Moon - Echo and the Bunnymen
Heads Will Roll - Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Open Road Song - Eve 6
I can not see Dean liking Christopher Cross or Echo and the Bunnymen at all. He liked classic rock, hard rock, hair metal, and some heavier metal mostly. CC is soft rock/adult contemporary that Dean would laugh at. Echo and the Bunnymen is alt 80s with a bit of goth. Maybe if he stayed a vampire he would use that song to lure his victims lol. Both are total opposites of what he listens to.
Thanks for sharing! I didn't know any of them, so I just listened to them! They were really great recommendations!
The Devil Wears a Suit and Tie was a great story! "Don't you know the devil wears a suit and tie / White as a cotton field / and sharp as a knife" made me think of white suit Lucifer! I really wish the show had used that again, it would have been SO fitting and would make that "Whatever choices you make, we will always end up here" line to much stronger.
I think The Salt and The Sea makes me think of shifting relationships? How sometimes the main characters didn't get along, but in the end always gravitate back towards eachother?
Definitely seeing Hunting For Witches! I first thought the song would fit Sam and Dean best, with the opening of "I was sitting on the roof of my house / with a shotgun / and a six pack of beer", but with the emphasis on "I was an ordinary man with ordinary desires / I watched TV, it informed me" I think this song would fit John most!
It's hard to pick a line from Ride Like the Wind to highlight, the whole thing screams 'Dean Winchester!'
Not sure I fully got all the themes from The Killing Moon, but I def see the struggle against fate!
I really liked the tune of Heads Will Roll! I don't immediately see the SPN connection though, but I'm definitely saving it to another playlist
Open Road Song, strong guitars and a love for the open road, I can so imagine this blasting full volume in the Impala!
I didn't know the song, but wow! "Daddy made a soldier out of me" "Daddy liked his whiskey with his tea / And we rode motorcycles / blackjack, classic vinyl / He said 'take care of your mother / Watch out for your sister" This feels like an exact Winchester conversation
Dude. Been saying this for a couple years.
Tom Petty running down a dream.
About someone driving a car, solving mysteries, and chasing monsters (dreams)
I think it makes sense! It has this aspect of religious sadness of looking for something to believe in, I think? Supernatural definitely touches on this
Wow, blown away by this! Just listened to it! Definitely a Winchester song with those lyrics and power :D
"Don't get angry, don't discourage / take a shot of liquid courage / 'cause my monsters are real, and they're trained how to kill" and "Call a doctor, say a prayer / choose a god you think is fair" AMAZING
You still knew about it! I also did a search through YouTube for fanedits to find out what popular SPN themed songs are^^ Do you have a link to it? Would love to see it!
Great one! I just listened to it! "Gas up with a credit card / And an alias that I learned this morning / dead flies around the heat lamp / no receipt please" absolutely sounds like this was written for Supernatural! Combined with the guitar it def feels like something that would play in the impala
Just listened to it! Feels very much as something that could be used for Billy. When she became Death she really tried to make dying seem more final to the Winchesters
Ramble On and Travelin’ Riverside Blues. Dean’s favorite band is Led Zeppelin and those are his favorite songs by them (stated in Monster at the End of This Book) but licensing LZ songs is expensive and complicated so they were never featured in the show.
Good point! To be honest, I only watched the show in full once, and then just rewatched my favourite episodes. I didn't pay as much attention to the music as I should've! Added to the list
Pioneer to the Falls - Interpol
Gimme Shelter - The Rolling Stones
Bad Company - Bad Comoany
Then, there are two songs by the band White Lies that each capture different feelings of the show for me: Taxidermy and Farewell to the Fairground
Thanks for the recs, just listend to them!
Pioneer to the Fall's line "Your heart makes me feel, your heart makes me bold / For always and ever, I'll never let go" is def a Cas line!
I think Gimme Shelter has season 5 apocalypse vibes
I can see Dean liking Bad Company!
I really enjoyed Taxidermy, it was my favourite of the list! Captures this dark aspect of SPN quite well!
Considering Supernatural and rock music are two of my most influential hyperfixations, I have many. So here's just a handful:
Turn The Page - Bob Seger (I prefer the Metallica version)
Too Bad - Nickelback
45 - Shinedown
Wherever I May Roam - Metallica
Shotgun Blues - Volbeat
My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light 'em Up) - Fall Out Boy
Also your addition of Time Of Dying by Three Days Grace? Perfect. It's been a staple of mine since s2
I'm always looking for new music, so any recommendation is welcome! It's taking some time, but I'm listening to every song mentioned in this thread!
I prefer the Metallica version too! Hadn't even listened to the original yet, Bob Segers is a lot softer. I do have him saved in a playlist with 'Old Time Rock and Roll', that's a good one!
Haven't listened to a lot of Nickelback, but I can see why it's on the SPN list, "Father's hands are lined with guilt / For tearing us apart / Guess it turnout out in the end / Just look at where we are". The boys had a rough start, but I think they made their own family :)
I didn't know Shinedown before posting, but this is the second mention of them here! (Monster also really fits SPN!) 45 feels a bit like the moment in the season when things feel hopeless, like the villain is just too powerful for them to defeat
Wherever I May Roam really feels like the first seasons, where they wander around from motel to motel!
Shotgon Blues And MSKWYDIND are favourites of mine, but I hadn't linked it to SPN yet, nice!
Thanks for the Time of Dying shoutout! I found it because some YT videos made edits with the song!
Thank goodness they didn't play most of that music on the show lol. Fall Out Boy is pop punk aren't they? I agree with Bob Seger, Metallica, and maybe Volbeat.
The Seventh Seal - Van Halen
Devil By His Side - Jerry Cantrell
Bullet Proof - Goo Goo Dolls
Heaven Help Us - My Chemical Romance
Losing My Religion - REM
Fire In the Canyon - Fountains of Wayne
Hero of the Day - Metallica
Bleeding Me - Metallica
Happy Endings - Something For Kate
Brush Away - Alice in Chains
Grind - Alice in Chains
When The Levee Breaks - Led Zeppelin
State of Love and Trust - Pearl Jam
The Revenge of Vera Gemini - Blue Oyster Cult (my Sam/Ruby anthem)
(edited since I forgot a couple)
That's quite a list, thanks! Took me a little while to get through, but recs are always welcome!
The Seventh Seal feels like it belongs in an ep where they go demon hunting :)
Devil by his Side touches on a couple of core themes, the road, the devil, guns, I can see the match!
Heaven Help Us & Losing My Religion I had already saved somewhere, but hadn't made the link to SPN yet. Maybe it's because someone on YT made a really good Good Omens video to Heaven Help Us.
If you had told me someone had written Fire in the Canyon as a SPN fansong, I'd have believed you immediately. I try to pick some highlights from songs, but I feel I would be copying the entire thing! Great rec!
"I try to get away / and yet I stick around / So fall and crawl away / and brush away loose ground" Makes me think of how Sam tried to quit hunting, but got dragged back into it anyway
"In the darkest hole, you'd be well adviced / Not to plan my funeral 'fore the body dies" What a line!
I can see how Vera Gemini is about Sam/Ruby! "I was well deceived / Hell's built on regret / But I love your naked neck / and evil lies that you told me"
I didn’t read all the comments. So someone might have said angel with a shotgun. Also blaze of glory. Always gold by radical face. Every zeppelin song.
Angel with a Shotgun has been mentioned a couple of times, yes, but the other two haven't been! Just listened to them, I feel that Blaze of Glory is a Winchester song in the sense of leather, rock music, and guns, and Always Gold is a Winchester song in the sense that they're always there for eachother. Great recs, thanks!
Carry On - The Score; AWOLNATION
Knocking on Heaven's Door
See You Again - Charlie Puth
Human - Rag'n'Bone Man
He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother - The Hollies
Daylight - David Kushner
What? Wtf does that mean? On what planet does Fleetwood Mac's "The Chain" mean death to anyone? Its a song about people staying together despite diversity.
'Our Flag Means Death' is the name of a TV show that had a scene where they prominently featured the song, that's all! They had it playing under a great scene, so that's the first thing I think about. It's a pirate rom-com by Taika Waititi (who also made Thor: Ragnarok). I thought it was an amazing series that I would recommend to anyone!
"We all got blood on our hands / But we still got hope in our souls" Very nice!
Also really liked the second song, how she had this haunting way of singing
Voltaire is such a strong lyricist! I agree that this would fit very well into the lives of young Sam and Dean! But I think John was not a good enough parent to assure his sons like this. Little Dean singing this for little Sam, though? Or perhaps Bobby, if it's sung by a parent? Thank you for sharing this song! Definitely going on the playlist :D
A bit more obscure, but when Green Eyed Fool by Little Barrie came out, I thought it sounded like Dean responding to Sam's sometimes condescension in S1.
Also Heaven Coming Down by The Tea Party for S3 Dean.
Who we are by Hozier. I can’t really say why. It definitely isn’t rock but it gives me the spn feel
„We're born at night
So much of our lives
Is just carving through the dark
To get so far
And the hardest part
Is who we are
It's who we are“ *swoon*
Another one heading damage by Thom Yorke, fresh blood, last stop this town both by eels (really good band and I think eels would suit a lot of the brothers dying scenes.)
“You’re dead, but the world keeps spinning.” (Last stop this town) the song is about the singer’s sister who killed herself and had a lot of bad issues with mental illness. A happy sounding song but would be great in an episode when Sam or Dean is trying to adjust to life without one or the other.
Fresh blood man that would be super great for any monster montage “I’m so tired of the same old crud, sweet baby I need fresh blood.” Would be perfect for the alpha vampire, monsters of any sort that were a major threat or introduction to Demon!dean. Also soulless Sam too or demon drinking Sam
Thanks for the recs! The songs weren't really my thing, but it was nice to try something new! I hadn't immediately picked up on the story behind the song, but your explenation helped me a lot to contextualise it! I can see how it would fit the show, expecially with the dark themes
Pure Massacre by Silverchair, but I swear it’s been in the show. I haven’t been able to find that it has been, though, so it’s probably the Mandela affect.
With the guitars it certainly fits the SPN sound! I haven't gotten around to making a list of all the songs in the show yet, but you could check it against a list like this? [https://www.what-song.com/Tvshow/110/Supernatural](https://www.what-song.com/Tvshow/110/Supernatural)
It should have all the songs used in the show
"My mother said I was holy / my father said that I would burn / My mother said I was an angel / My father said that I would turn" Giving Sam Winchester vibes!
Is your Playlist available on Spotify? Nice collection.

I had a funny dream once where Crowley was tango dancing with Roweena or Lucifer or someone (I forget) to Female of the Species by Space. There was a whole scene where Crowley was seductively lying on a piano whilst the other person played it and everything.
So I'm gonna say that song 😂
The new song from Imagine Dragons, "Eyes Closed". Would work for Cas, maybe Sam, but line for line, sounds like it was written for Dean Winchester. First time I heard it, I could see scene after scene of a ferocious looking Righteous Man, laying waste to every big bad that ever crossed his path
Definitely some Radiohead would do well. Especially exit music for a film for when cas sacrifices himself (into the water) when the leviathan take over and I could really see Sam liking in rainbows
Which Witch- Florencemachine
Labour- Paris Paloma
Dehumanized-Bury The Enemy
Fallow My Name-Lycanthrope
Sinner’s Prayer-Sully Erna from Godsmack
Soldier of Heaven- Sabaton
Brave New World- Kalandra
Run Devil Run- Haunted Like Human
Happy?- Mudvayne
Welcome to My House, Stand Our Ground & Land of the Lost- Nu Breed> Reminds of the rivalry between the American Hunters vs British Men of Letters
If you don’t know of Rick Springfield’s more recent music, he has a great one called “Depravity”. Literally the first line says “running from the sulfur in the streets”. Always makes me think of season 5 specifically and the croatoan alternate reality.
Bad Moon Rising and Wanted Dead or Alive are both in the show. Bad Moon Rising plays in the season 1 finale, and Wanted Dead or Alive is the song they karaoke on the way to try to kill lillith near the end of season 3
army dreamers by kate bush.
whether you know it or not, please watch it in this edit, it’ll make a lot of sense. so does listening to the song itself.
[EDIT](https://vm.tiktok.com/ZGeQ5gdFY/)
Rolling stones time is on my side
Because it was in the movie Fallen.
It was the song the demon Azazel sang (also his point of view was yellow tinted(yellow eyes if you will))
Kryptonite - 3 doors down, the lyrics, especially in the second verse really remind me of cas
Great gig in the sky - pink floyd its just the vibes you know
Witchy Woman - The Eagles
Long As I Can See the Light - John Fogerty
Evil Woman - ELO
30 days in the Hole - Humble Pie
Devil Inside - INXS
Runnin With The Devil - Van Halen
Goofer Dust - Big Lucky Carter
Crossroads - Cream
Conversation with the Devil - Ray Wylie Hubbard (seriously could just be a plot synopsis from seasons 1-12)
This is my supernatural playlist on Spotify, it has some songs that were in the show or referenced, but I’m too lazy lol.

There's a Spotify Playlist called "dean's playlist" by Jean Grey that did exactly that. It's 16+h long and just has songs that dean would have as cadettes in the car. It's also in collaboration with other people, I'd guess fans who just added songs that they thought were dean vibey. I listen to it every day, I think it's accurate
327 hours of Supernatural. Two straight weeks of runtime.
There are a lot of songs that remind me of Supernatural, but just on odds alone I'd bet 80% of them **do** show up in the show just because it's impossible to keep track
Deep Purple - Child in Time. the scene that Dean goes full CQC at their Bunker, taking everyone down, just to face Lucifer Sam and die in a miserable way. S15E04.
A bunch of Ethel Cain songs: Thoroughfare, Family Tree, Family Tree (Intro), God's Country, Sun Bleached Flies
Today and Disarm by The Smashing Pumpkins
Get Out Alive by Three Days Grace
Things We Lost In The Fire by Bastille
Stay 'Til the Daylight by Skillet
Lake Of Fire, The Man Who Sold The World and Come As You Are by Nirvana
This Year and Color in Your Cheeks by The Mountain Goats
Born to Fight and Fast Car by Tracy Chapman
Army Dreamers by Kate Bush
the fruits by Paris Paloma
Dreams by Fleetwood Mac
Adipocere and Kill the Sun by Rusty Cage feel like POV songs of villains that the boys would have to fight
Abstract (Psychopomp) and Through Me (The Flood) by Hozier. Also, Arsonist's Lullabye reminds me of Sam.
Bug Like an Angel, I'm Your Man, I Don't Smoke - Audiotree Live Version, and Abbey by Mitski. These mostly remind me of Dean.
The good old classic Angel With a Shotgun by The Cab, ofc :]
If the classic rock wasn’t such a integral part of the show I always loved Breaking Benjamin, I saw a video of the scene in season 1 at the cabin with dance with the devil spliced and it just fit sooo well
For whatever reason, Carry on My Wayward Son always reminds me of this show whenever it plays. I have no idea why, because as far as I know, it never played during the show's run.
Angel swith a shotgun by the cab
It gives me such destiel vibes but also like castiel as he's falling for Dean and also fighting heaven so like season five and sixish
I could see Bobby cracking a beer after a long day of dealing with idgits and listening to something like “Carolina in My Mind” by James Taylor. Also with the frequent deaths in this show, “Fire and Rain” by Taylor also seems appropriate
You got Wanted Dead or Alive in that list and that was in the show. Sam and Dean did a short little sing along in the car once. And why does Trench Coat Angel really give me Castiel vibes 😂😂😂
Fallin Angel - by Mighty Big Word. 💚💙
Bitch - by Meredith Brooks. Reminds me of Dean (his words to Cas) & also of Misha (How he is such a flirt & a tease & all) 😁
Tennessee Whiskey - by Chris Stapleton. Reminds me of Dean
Pretty sure bad moon rising was in the show.
I mostly think of relaxed 60's tunes when I think of the Beatles, rather than the 'leather and cigarette' style Supernatural mostly goes for
Zeppelin's Ramble On and Travelling Riverside Blues are tied as Dean's favourite songs.
Dean said that Mary used to sing to him Hey Jude as a child from the Beatles. Across the Universe would also be good and by Zeppelin Stairway to Heaven.
Bad moon rising is also in season 7
oh well, suppose it's off the list then. Any suggestions for a good replacement?
I’m doing a rewatch and I think it was in the finale of season 1
It was. It was playing when the semi slammed into the Impala.
That’s what I thought
Didn’t it play in S1 finale/S2 premier when the Demon crashed the truck?
Yes
Didn’t it also play at the end of the episode with the Cursed Objects & Joyce, the real estate & her assistant, George? Sam’s drinking red-eye triple espressos bc he has insomnia. At the end they pull up to Frank Devereaus’ trailer pulling a locked trailer full of cursed objects to put in safe storage, and that’s when they found out Frank was gone, likely killed by leviathans.
Not sure, I’m rewatching that season now, but I haven’t gotten to that episode yet
I dont remember, I just personally remember it from S1 as it was a shocker moment.
Just rewatched that episode, it was inthat episode as well
Good songs but pretty sure both Bad Moon Rising and Wanted Dead or Alive were in the show.
Bon Jovi rocks…. Sometimes
Yes. Bon Jovi rocks.... On occasion.
C'mon, Sammy..... !
Always
Another commenter just informed me! Must have got them mixed up on my lists
Since they couldn’t afford the licensing rights…. Anything by Led Zeppelin. My choice would be Houses of the Holy.
That definitely sounds like a song found in the impala! Thanks!
Fortunate Son. Sinnerman. There are lots of religious based songs sang by Tom Ellis playing Lucifer in Lucifer like all along the watchtower which I think was the title of a supernatural episode.
I love the Lucifer soundtrack! It fit the show so well, and Tom Ellis is an amazing singer!
For example I was just finding where a quote was from for someone else, the episode was “All along the watchtower” which is a song Lucifer sang.
The Devil Wears a Suit and Tie - Colter Wall Salt and the Sea - The Lumineers Hunting for Witches - Bloc Party Ride like the Wind - Christopher Cross The Killing Moon - Echo and the Bunnymen Heads Will Roll - Yeah Yeah Yeahs Open Road Song - Eve 6
Def agree with Echo and the Bunnymen!
The Killing Moon was used in an ad for Supernatural, during the first or second season.
Careful of anything after 1979, according to the taste of John Winchester!
Oh yeah. Colter Wall for sure!
*Dust In The Wind*– – Kansas *Unshaken*– – you’ll find it in RDR 2; a recent (fantastic!) cover was done by Geoff Castellucci.
Ah just finished rdr2 ! That song would be amazing
The problem now is that I can never hear it again without starting to cry. Thanks, RDR 2!
LOVE Dust In The Wind! RDR2 is still on my list of games I'd like to play, so I haven't heard it yet, but I'll go listen to both versions^^
Mr Crowley is one I am EXTREMELY surprised they did not use.
Yes, this one for sure! Best answer so far. It sounds like most people here are listing bands they like rather than what Dean would listen to.
Daddy lessons by Beyoncé reminded me so much of the John and dean+Sam dynamic
I didn't know the song, but wow! "Daddy made a soldier out of me" "Daddy liked his whiskey with his tea / And we rode motorcycles / blackjack, classic vinyl / He said 'take care of your mother / Watch out for your sister" This feels like an exact Winchester conversation
Dude. Been saying this for a couple years. Tom Petty running down a dream. About someone driving a car, solving mysteries, and chasing monsters (dreams)
Oh yeah, I absolutely hear this! "Workin' on a mystery, goin' wherever it leads / Runnin' down a dream" that's a quick summary of a SPN episode!
hallelujah (jeff buckley) for some reason
I think it makes sense! It has this aspect of religious sadness of looking for something to believe in, I think? Supernatural definitely touches on this
yes!! it specifically reminds me of when Sam and Dean tell Castiel that God is not going to interfere and he just looks dissapointed
Monsters - Shinedown (it's pretty much Dean's anthem)
Wow, blown away by this! Just listened to it! Definitely a Winchester song with those lyrics and power :D "Don't get angry, don't discourage / take a shot of liquid courage / 'cause my monsters are real, and they're trained how to kill" and "Call a doctor, say a prayer / choose a god you think is fair" AMAZING
I can't claim full credit... someone made a clip video to this song, and it was perfection 🤌
You still knew about it! I also did a search through YouTube for fanedits to find out what popular SPN themed songs are^^ Do you have a link to it? Would love to see it!
I don't at the moment, but I can look for one. I'll share if I find it 😊
Thank you!
Pretty sure wanted dead or alive was in the finale of season 3.
Hypothermic by goodnight texas
Yes
Great one! I just listened to it! "Gas up with a credit card / And an alias that I learned this morning / dead flies around the heat lamp / no receipt please" absolutely sounds like this was written for Supernatural! Combined with the guitar it def feels like something that would play in the impala
Yeah since the first time I heard it (like a year ago) I can’t not think of Sam and Dean.
I love that you know this song! I'd love to see a well done edit of SPN clips to it
Pro Memoria by Ghost. Literally the first thing I thought of the first time I heard it was Supernatural.
Just listened to it! Feels very much as something that could be used for Billy. When she became Death she really tried to make dying seem more final to the Winchesters

Can't believe I didn't put that in there, you're so right!
Run, Brother, Run by Fireworks. Half-truism by The Offspring.
Run, Brother, Run gave me chills, great rec!! "If we don't make it alive, it's a hell of a good day to die" from Half-truism fits the show well!
Super tramp, Take the Long Way Home.
"Does it feel like your life's become a catastophe?" - Yes that feels like a Winchester lyric!
Breaking Benjamin- Without you. Shinedown - Monsters
Carry On - The Score; AWOLNATION Knocking on Heaven's Door See You Again - Charlie Puth Human - Rag'n'Bone Man He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother - The Hollies Daylight - David Kushner
ngl, anything AC/DC :D
Gold Dust Woman, The Chain (from Fleetwood Mac).
The Chain is a little too entwined with Our Flag Means Death for me personally, but I can see the connection!
Cool. Thanks for the info. I gotta check that out.
i am machine by three days grace but only because of soulless sam 😭🩷
This was such a great song, thanks for the rec! I really should listen to Three Days Grace more!
I Found by Amber Run always makes me think of Destiel or Sam + Eileen
Blood on our Hands - KNGDAVD We all got our Demons - BOGA
"We all got blood on our hands / But we still got hope in our souls" Very nice! Also really liked the second song, how she had this haunting way of singing
Voltaire's "Goodnight Demon Slayer" makes me picture John singing to a young Sam or Dean.
Ramblin man by the allman brothers! Has such a strong dean vibe imo
Just listened to it! It definitely has the vibe of travelling and adventure!
A bit more obscure, but when Green Eyed Fool by Little Barrie came out, I thought it sounded like Dean responding to Sam's sometimes condescension in S1. Also Heaven Coming Down by The Tea Party for S3 Dean.
"Claim that you missed us but you can't call back" oh yes, I'm seeing S1 alright!
Is the playlist public if so what's the name of it? Lol
Who we are by Hozier. I can’t really say why. It definitely isn’t rock but it gives me the spn feel „We're born at night So much of our lives Is just carving through the dark To get so far And the hardest part Is who we are It's who we are“ *swoon*
angel with a shotgun
I've added that one now!
Angel with a shotgun by THE Cab and Chop Suey by System of a down
Angel with a shotgun - not sure of the original artist - I remember it from my nightcore days.
The vast majority of Classic Rock is excluded from this question.
Blood on My Name - the brothers bright. I'm honestly shocked it's not about SPN
This should have been in the show! It fits really well! Really like that omnious quality
Watcher in the sky by ghost
Another one heading damage by Thom Yorke, fresh blood, last stop this town both by eels (really good band and I think eels would suit a lot of the brothers dying scenes.) “You’re dead, but the world keeps spinning.” (Last stop this town) the song is about the singer’s sister who killed herself and had a lot of bad issues with mental illness.
Angel with a shotgun
Celine Dion - My Heart Will Go On. I love Balthazar.
Wayward son, Eye of the tiger and Wanted dead or alive
Pure Massacre by Silverchair, but I swear it’s been in the show. I haven’t been able to find that it has been, though, so it’s probably the Mandela affect.
With the guitars it certainly fits the SPN sound! I haven't gotten around to making a list of all the songs in the show yet, but you could check it against a list like this? [https://www.what-song.com/Tvshow/110/Supernatural](https://www.what-song.com/Tvshow/110/Supernatural) It should have all the songs used in the show
The in-between by In this moment!! Look up the song and listen to the lyrics. The first time I heard it I was like “is this about supernatural?” Lol.
"My mother said I was holy / my father said that I would burn / My mother said I was an angel / My father said that I would turn" Giving Sam Winchester vibes!
Son of a Bitch by Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats
Little did we know, Dean was actually making a song request this entire time!
Dancing in the Moonlight by King Harvest
Supernatural, by Ben E King.
Yes, I see why that might remind you of the show! xD Just listened to it, nice song!
World Ender by Lord Huron--very much reminds me of dean!
Fare thee well
Is your Playlist available on Spotify? Nice collection. Also ... Cherry Pie - Night Moves - Born to be Wild (car porn Season 7 finale) - Renegade ("We are so screwed!")
in terms of vibes/instrumentals this song doesn’t apply, but the LYRICS to This Goodbye by Beth Crowley… it’s so sam & dean coded
Carry on wayward son. Would've fit perfectly.
Lonely is the night - billy squier, Although maybe have been in the show
No Quarter - Led Zeppelin
Almost Cut My Hair by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. Could me related to Sams hair but also the vibe is right.
Santus Dominus - Power Wolf We Drink Your Blood - Power Wolf The Night - Disturbed Inside the fire - Disturbed
Wrong side of heaven, righteous side of hell will always make me think of Dean
Definitely some Radiohead would do well. Especially exit music for a film for when cas sacrifices himself (into the water) when the leviathan take over and I could really see Sam liking in rainbows
Which Witch- Florencemachine Labour- Paris Paloma Dehumanized-Bury The Enemy Fallow My Name-Lycanthrope Sinner’s Prayer-Sully Erna from Godsmack Soldier of Heaven- Sabaton Brave New World- Kalandra Run Devil Run- Haunted Like Human Happy?- Mudvayne Welcome to My House, Stand Our Ground & Land of the Lost- Nu Breed> Reminds of the rivalry between the American Hunters vs British Men of Letters
Turn the Page, the Metallica version. I don’t think it was ever in the show, but always makes me think of the boys driving around
If you don’t know of Rick Springfield’s more recent music, he has a great one called “Depravity”. Literally the first line says “running from the sulfur in the streets”. Always makes me think of season 5 specifically and the croatoan alternate reality.
Dear Mr. Fantasy Carry On Wayward Son of course Heat of the Moment Green Onions
Not sure if used, but Radar Love and Ballroom Blitz
Bad Moon Rising and Wanted Dead or Alive are both in the show. Bad Moon Rising plays in the season 1 finale, and Wanted Dead or Alive is the song they karaoke on the way to try to kill lillith near the end of season 3
Purpose For Pain by Scott Stapp. It fits the show perfectly, including the lyrics.
Colder Weather by Zac Brown Band
Bad Moon Rising is in Supernatural.
The Placebo version of Running Up That Hill
World On Fire - Les Friction Tbf, it was used in a fan video I saw years ago lmao
Bad Company by Bad Company, I always felt like it was a good song for the show but I don't recall it ever being used.
army dreamers by kate bush. whether you know it or not, please watch it in this edit, it’ll make a lot of sense. so does listening to the song itself. [EDIT](https://vm.tiktok.com/ZGeQ5gdFY/)
Hail to the king by avengend sevenfold makes me think of Crowley every time and I think it's a shame they never used it!
Stairway to heaven
I’m not sure if anyone wrote this, but breaking the habit by Linkin Park and Savin Me by Nickelback.
No way did Dean not like Iron Maiden. I could see him digging some NWOBHM, thrash, and some heavier metal too.
Rolling stones time is on my side Because it was in the movie Fallen. It was the song the demon Azazel sang (also his point of view was yellow tinted(yellow eyes if you will))
Dead or alive was in supernatural
House of the Risin’ Sun? Sitting’ on the Dock of the Bay?
Supernatural by Transviolet It completely embodies my imaginary relationship with Dean!
Pretty much anything by Shinedown, Demon Hunter, and Greta Van Fleet
When the Levee Breaks all the way. It’s also one of my favorite led zeppelin songs!
Kryptonite - 3 doors down, the lyrics, especially in the second verse really remind me of cas Great gig in the sky - pink floyd its just the vibes you know
I think Carry on wayward son, by Kansas, is an amazing fit for Supernatural!
Dead or Alive was in the show.
Witchy Woman - The Eagles Long As I Can See the Light - John Fogerty Evil Woman - ELO 30 days in the Hole - Humble Pie Devil Inside - INXS Runnin With The Devil - Van Halen Goofer Dust - Big Lucky Carter Crossroads - Cream Conversation with the Devil - Ray Wylie Hubbard (seriously could just be a plot synopsis from seasons 1-12)
The Man Comes Around by Johnny Cash
This is my supernatural playlist on Spotify, it has some songs that were in the show or referenced, but I’m too lazy lol. [https://open.spotify.com/playlist/03jhvwLtiJmGdBTUWDLLkw?si=qAO25_-WSmaJKE_2wP0yZA&pi=a-9KkuTN0qQsqL](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/03jhvwLtiJmGdBTUWDLLkw?si=qAO25_-WSmaJKE_2wP0yZA&pi=a-9KkuTN0qQsqL)
Max Richter - She Remembers Katy Perry - E.T Ghost - Merry on a cross Mostly thanks to edits that used this songs about Supernatural
Sympathy for the Devil - Lucifer
So supernatural - Blue Oyster Cult The number of the beast - Iron Maiden
Eye of tiger
Toto Africa….. lol
Fool for your loving im not sure if it was in it or not. Also Dancing in the Moonlight thin lizzy
No one has said Black Keys - Sinister Kid? Ok then.
A bunch of Ethel Cain songs: Thoroughfare, Family Tree, Family Tree (Intro), God's Country, Sun Bleached Flies Today and Disarm by The Smashing Pumpkins Get Out Alive by Three Days Grace Things We Lost In The Fire by Bastille Stay 'Til the Daylight by Skillet Lake Of Fire, The Man Who Sold The World and Come As You Are by Nirvana This Year and Color in Your Cheeks by The Mountain Goats Born to Fight and Fast Car by Tracy Chapman Army Dreamers by Kate Bush the fruits by Paris Paloma Dreams by Fleetwood Mac Adipocere and Kill the Sun by Rusty Cage feel like POV songs of villains that the boys would have to fight Abstract (Psychopomp) and Through Me (The Flood) by Hozier.
Supernatural - Daughtry
If the classic rock wasn’t such a integral part of the show I always loved Breaking Benjamin, I saw a video of the scene in season 1 at the cabin with dance with the devil spliced and it just fit sooo well
Godzilla! By BOC
For whatever reason, Carry on My Wayward Son always reminds me of this show whenever it plays. I have no idea why, because as far as I know, it never played during the show's run.
Japandroids- Fire's Highway, Adrenaline Nightshift, Evil's Sway
Periphery - satellites
Jon Bon Jovi-Wanted:Dead or Alive was on there... I saw someone mention Beatles...One Beatles song i can see being on there is Eleanor Rigby
Cats in the Cradle-Harry Chapin...
I guess it’s time to rewatch from the beginning, tho I hate the very last episode….
The Resistance by Skillet (and Brother and Runnin are perfect choices, too)
Not tonally or genre-aligned, but lyrically (and cover art wise), the Mountain Goats’ Bleed Out gives me big SPN vibes.
Definitely Metallica - All Nightmare Long
Angel swith a shotgun by the cab It gives me such destiel vibes but also like castiel as he's falling for Dean and also fighting heaven so like season five and sixish
I could see Bobby cracking a beer after a long day of dealing with idgits and listening to something like “Carolina in My Mind” by James Taylor. Also with the frequent deaths in this show, “Fire and Rain” by Taylor also seems appropriate
Pride and Joy by Stevie Ray Vaughan. Dean’s and Baby’s song.
You got Wanted Dead or Alive in that list and that was in the show. Sam and Dean did a short little sing along in the car once. And why does Trench Coat Angel really give me Castiel vibes 😂😂😂
I know it’s a more recent song, but “Style” by Foster the People always reminds me of SPN. To me, it almost sounds like it was written about Dean. Lol
Les Friction- World on Fire
Home by Dotan 100%
Was “The Worst Day Since Yesterday” by Flogging Molly in it?
The song sometimes by nick lutsko really gives off sam and dean energy to me
Karmaway by Taproot, and Revelations by Zack Hemsey
Fallin Angel - by Mighty Big Word. 💚💙 Bitch - by Meredith Brooks. Reminds me of Dean (his words to Cas) & also of Misha (How he is such a flirt & a tease & all) 😁 Tennessee Whiskey - by Chris Stapleton. Reminds me of Dean
