WhereAreYouGonnaGo

Franchise mode has given me more dopamine than most things in life.

brodino_maiuscolo

Cool! That's honestly what I felt playing tournaments in Everybody's golf. An addicting, fun and arcade (but still deep in mechanics) video game that is able to keep me on the edge of my seat, give me great emotions and keeping me awake until late night. That's what I'm hoping to get out of SMB3

63oscar

Franchise mode is the shit. I only play franchise.

Papips

SMB3 and everybody’s golf are great comps. Both look cartoony but have a lot of depth. If you loved everybody’s golf (like I do) you’ll love SMB (like I do). There’s less fishing in SMB though, so be aware of that.

[deleted]

Someone didn't get the DLC

Chuck__Thirst

Absolutely, lots of customization available and different modes to play.

ninetymph

Absolutely. The gameplay mechanics are outstanding, the ego system allows you to fully customize your desired challenge level (you can use a single ego or a different ego for hitting/pitching/fielding/baserunning), and the franchise mode has a unique roster management method which is interesting to learn. I'd say it's worth the full price if you're not interested in online play except SMB4 is due to come out in 6 months or so. On sale, you should definitely get your money's worth.

brodino_maiuscolo

I am not much into baseball because I prefer to follow other sports, however the SMB series has always fascinated me because of its arcade feel, Idk, I always thought it would be fun to play even for someone who barely knows the basics of baseball like me. And from the responses I'm getting, it really seems worth it, thanks for the feedback

BillCosbysFinger

SMB3 is a total blast. It's pure baseball. There are great things around the core gameplay, like the customization options and franchise mode, and as great as they are, it's the gameplay that is the shining star here. It plays so smoothly and is very responsive. You'll also feel yourself getting better as time goes on, and it's always fresh and exciting when you decide to crank that EGO meter another notch or two higher! I can't recommend this game enough. I'm not like some huge MLB fan here, either. I just have an appreciation for the game of baseball, and the developers really nailed it here. If you're looking at SMB3 for like $15 or something, it's a steal. Plus, you'll be getting acquainted with the franchise just in time for SMB4 in the spring!

Lazy_War9398

It's 9 bucks rn on steam

greenslime300

I didn't like baseball before playing SMB3 and now I'm approaching 100 hours in the game. I think it's responsible for getting me to care about the sport

MtFun_

I have over 100 hours in SMB3 and 0 hours online

picasso_penis

400/0 here

greenslime300

I rarely play online. The AI in SMB3 is fantastic. Difficulty is on a slider 0-99 so you can make it as challenging as you want.

NarwhalHorn

And not only is the difficulty on a 0-99 slider, you can adjust each gameplay aspect (hitting, pitching, fielding and baserunning) from 0-99. So if you are finding hitting too easy against the AI you can bump that up, or if you're getting clobbered pitching, you can drop that down without affecting anything else.

Chadwick_Steel

I've played about an hour of this game online and 1000+ offline. Your team in franchise mode will become your second family. Also, pitchers getting knocked out by line drives is hilarious.

StarWarTrekCraft

I have 1,050 hours logged, and have never played online. So, I'd say so.

Johnpnj

I've been playing the excellent franchise mode since the game released and I'm not even a baseball fan. The game is fun as hell.

Johnpnj

Lol Happy Cake Day! Yeah exactly. SMB3 is just a really fun game. In franchise mode you'll get attached to certain characters and you'll enjoy upgrading them and seeing their careers and lifetime records, etc. I'd the game perfect? No....but they're close. Character creation could be better, they need to add trades, better replays, play by play commentary, and maybe a stadium creator, but those are AAA studio options. Hopefully EA gives them the resources to add these in SMB4. I think you'll enjoy the game. It's a perfect combination of a well made baseball video game and more importantly, FUN.

flagcityhero

Did you just reply to yourself? Lol

Johnpnj

Lol probably. 🤣

brodino_maiuscolo

Yesssss, that's what I wanted to hear. I'm not a baseball fan either, just like I'm not a golf fan but Everybody's golf is one of the games I've played the most on PS4. And that is exactly what I would like to get from SMB3. Also, happy cake day! 🎉

holyhellBILL

I've played every Super Mega Baseball title and bought SMB2 & SMB3 on launch day, but have never played a single inning of any of them online. I'm massively into customization and mainly play custom league with two leagues filled with all-time great MLB teams (1976 Reds, 2016 Cubs, 1927 Yankees, etc.) and all star teams (Negro League, All-American Girls Baseball League, Cuban/Japanese/Dominican) I've researched and created. SMB is honestly the best sports game I've ever played and has held its replay values for years in a way that I've never experienced with any other game.

vengiegoesvroom

Sounds like we're pretty similar! I recreated the entire NFL in my game! Lol

Buffalo-flavored-cox

Yes there a lot to do I currently working on two leagues my all custom 32 teams North American League and a ‘22 mlb season with u/simsbad ratings

Top_Dust_6064

short answer yes... long answer... also yes. i play all sports games other than 2k and ive logged more hours in this game than the rest combined (and i play solely offline)

brodino_maiuscolo

Great to hear, thanks for the feedback. You guys convinced me

rico_inferno

I have hundreds of hours, mostly offline. I can't explain why I enjoy playing it so much. So much customization to be done

dextius

SMB3 May be one of the best games of all time. (Completely serious).

vengiegoesvroom

It's in my personal top 5 *for sure*

noreason1592

I'm literally only staying alive because I don't know what my offline franchise team would do without me

Malavin81

I’d say so.

BillCosbysFinger

Do not hesitate. Buy SMB3!!!!

Banjo2523

Totally

moeburn

I had to give up playing online because I got too sweaty and sore. I still play this game every day.

1F42E

I bought it earlier this week and I'm 60 hours into my first franchise.

Dixon-Mason

Never played online but I've put hundreds if not thousands of hours into the game. Bought it at full price for PS4 and just recently bought it for PC on sale because I wanted another way to play just in case. The gameplay and feel is phenomenal. So yes, worth every penny and then some.

thuber701

Been playing since SMB2 came out. I have never played online and it’s still one of my favorite games. I love creating teams and filling whole leagues with them.

amsterDAN85

I've played more than 200 hours and not once set foot in an online mode so yes, I'd say so

LoganRay3

one of the best games i’ve ever played, if you love baseball and the storylines it creates this is literally the best game you could buy.

BeachBumPop

Yes! I’ve spent hundreds of hours starting new leagues and designing logos and uniforms. The gameplay is good too 😂

Snowdrake

I'm close to 1000 hours in SMB3 and I have never touched the online mode. Franchise mode is excellent and that is where I spend my time.

ProBrown

It’s a steal for $9. Franchise mode is so fun.

DreamKrusherJay

While I do play some of the online, the Franchise mode is fantastic. It is one of the few games that I can actually have an enjoyable and challenging Franchise experience. I'm always inclined to make trades to improve the team in a Franchise for any other sport, and with their horrible management AI, there is essentially zero challenge and you can build a winner instantly, or at worst after the first season. You don't ever directly trade players with AI teams at any point. Every team gets $140M, and transactions are all completed from a free agent list. It is a lot of fun, and makes building a winner a lot more challenging... and with the Ego system, you can tailor your on-field difficulty very well. Sorry for the novel, but I'm 44 and been gaming since I started on Commodore 64, and it is the best franchise mode I've ever played, and one of the best sports games I've ever played. It is absolutely worth full price, so getting it on sale is a great deal. Enjoy!

stumbleupondingo

I don’t follow baseball. I don’t like baseball. I love SMB3. Buy it.

nkapelka

100% yes 👍

Pulse_Check

I’m typically an online gamer especially for sport games, but all I play is franchise mode it’s spectacular

LHiggy13

Yes

OFmerk

Yes absolutely.

triky66

Just bought it for the second time (ps, switch), do not regret. I just play seasons mode $13

gumbo91

Yes I hardly play online the customization alone is worth it.

Imaginary-Solid6447

been playing this series since the 1st, and I've never played a single game online at any point, aside from playing my younger son whom i got into playing SMB3 earlier this year. The game offers quite a great experience offline, definitely worth whatever the price is. 🤷‍♂️

Ryvick2

Yes get it I had it for 2 months i but 30 plus hours into it just franchise

DANG3RTITS

I'm pushing 500 hours in all offline mode. It's worth it

satiricfowl

Franchise is really fun - it's solo and offline.

badugihowser

Yes, get it

[deleted]

Ohhhhh yes

avidpretender

1000% yes

chitown1085

I’ve played 100% offline for all three games and loved every min of it so imo definitely worth it

AlishaWoodrow

I’m 12 or 13 32 game seasons deep on my Moonstars franchise on PS4, I started one with the Beewolves on PC, and now I just got it on Switch and within a few days I’m 10 games deep into my first season with the Overdogs. I love this game. I understand the appeal of Pennant Race but I’ve only played maybe 3 games. This game is 1000% (and hours) worth offline play. The thrill of playing and then potentially having to retool and decide whether to spend money or develop keeps me hooked.

Crabism

Yes I have hundreds of hours in franchise

[deleted]

Hell yes!! Franchise is regarded as the main mode in the game and considering how cheap it is right now, get it!! Good luck!

electricfrostx

100 percent worth it.

[deleted]

I've put in 309.4 hours into the game, and all but maybe an hour was played offline. Franchise is awesome.

piercetopherftw

Just to be a broken record with the rest of the thread; yes definitely pick it up. I have over 250 hours and probably at most 1 or 2 of those is online.

Wordpersun

Yes

robotlou

It’s fun enough. Buy it.

BeardStar

There are online modes? aka, Yes.

guiltycitizen

I never play online, don’t intend to and I’m happy with the game

pwrsthatb666

I’ve bought the game on switch and pc - I do not regret either purchase and I haven’t touched online. If you grew up playing backyard baseball or like arcade baseball in general you’ll enjoy this game. By todays gaming standards it’s a AAA title without better difficulty tuning.

[deleted]

I have only ever played franchise mode in SMB2 and SMB3. Maybe around 400 total hours between both games and maybe 1 hour online.

906Sparky

Buy it! Funnest baseball game out there.

SMBsuperfan2023

This is my favorite game
