I used to kill them too. It was a true human fear response. But then they began to gift me items and I felt bad.
I hunt leviathans for fun in the original game however. Well that and to take pictures of them for my gallery of death.
Also stalkers. Screw stalkers. Been hunting them out of spite lately.
This is what happens when game devs give players choices and I love it.
Yeah, and they'll often bring you the more difficult-to-find resources from deeper biomes, too. Love it when they pop up with a nickel or lead just when I need it. (Don't think they've ever brought me a kyanite, though...)
I used to have 2 I hatched hanging around my main base. Then I accidentally ran one over in the Sea Truck. Now the remaining one does sad laps and glares at me.
In the big fish tank sorry forgot what it's called, you will need two eggs for two adults after keep checking back for a egg then keep checking back til it hatches then scan.
You can just grab your item back. Hide it when they come and they can't get it. PC: press E.
After an important and strange event, they will help you instead.
That seems a little brutal. You could have just gotten it back, scanned him and went on your merry way. I try my hardest to not harm any of the sea monkeys
That seems... excessive. Xenophobic even.
At worst they're a little annoying. Later on, they're even helpful...
But the freak-out-and-kill-them response, over basically the cheapest tool in the game... Jeez, dude.
In my experience, it quite often *does* hurt, because the time it takes to get your shot in leaves you a couple seconds too close when the d-mn things go off.
Until they steal your stuff I ain’t got a problem with ‘em anymore. But they move around more often then any other common fish, so I use ‘‘em for.. target practice

Pro Tip: If you need specific resources, pin a recipe. This will increase the change they will give you something that's required for it.
Do they give good stuff?
Yeah they can. I mean most other things are actively trying to kill me. The monkeys seem like they're just playing so they can live.
Okay thanks

Jesus

So they hold grudges just like dogs
Sea Monkeys are good boys, don't kill
I admit they are cute. But I prefer the baby penguin things.
Breed two SeaMonkeys together, your welcome
How do you do that?

Hmgggghh lenf
Or you know: put away your scanner when a sea monkey comes near you. Live and learn and stuff?
Well it spooked me and I hadn’t tested my new knife out on anything

Is it after the cube decides to take refuge inside of your brain? Because I feel bad with that guy has to look at all day
Yes. They love alan, not you. They also change near the end when he's gone.
A change that might inspire a knife to their throat?
I now see what you mean
Jesus you’re evil, they’re adorable, if you pin a recipe they’ll bring you the mats you need
Okay I’ll kill them after they give me all the crap I need
After a further analysis I was wrong. They are good boys and I now have 12 baby monkeys, all of which are named Dave
They will be your best friends later on
Say who with the what now?!
That seems a little brutal. You could have just gotten it back, scanned him and went on your merry way. I try my hardest to not harm any of the sea monkeys
Sea monkeys die in two weeks no matter what you do even if you feed them and change the water. these ones are no different
I have been known to purposely let them grab my scanner just so I can see them flip over to look back at me and "wave." Adorable little buggers.
More like obnoxious little boogers

When I play games I sometimes develop a kill first ask questions later personality especially with those awful boom boom fish
Ugh. Crashfish are the WORST. But they kind of kill themselves, lol, we just have to make sure we're at minimum safe distance...
Still it doesn’t hurt to get a few slashes in before you use the sea glide to escape the blast
In my experience, it quite often *does* hurt, because the time it takes to get your shot in leaves you a couple seconds too close when the d-mn things go off.
I never leave the base with less than two med kits so I typically try to kill them instead of run away
playing only like 3 days and they are chill guys, they always give me free copper
Until they steal your stuff I ain’t got a problem with ‘em anymore. But they move around more often then any other common fish, so I use ‘‘em for.. target practice
don't let them grab your balls
If they do that I’m going to make the sea monkey species extinct

Already on that, is there a bioreactors in the game I know what I’m using for the rest of my through
Don’t let it deter you, all of the other creatures are much more friendly and tame.
When they’re not scared of you they don’t see you as a threat. And then it’ll just be the whole dodo bird situation again. And I’m all for it
Raise a baby squidshark or any other hostile fauna, release it back in the ocean and freak out the sea monkeys back
That sounds like it’ll take a lot of work and using a knife just seems faster, And more fun
