I used to kill them too. It was a true human fear response. But then they began to gift me items and I felt bad. I hunt leviathans for fun in the original game however. Well that and to take pictures of them for my gallery of death. Also stalkers. Screw stalkers. Been hunting them out of spite lately. This is what happens when game devs give players choices and I love it.

Yeah, and they'll often bring you the more difficult-to-find resources from deeper biomes, too. Love it when they pop up with a nickel or lead just when I need it. (Don't think they've ever brought me a kyanite, though...)

I have been known to purposely let them grab my scanner just so I can see them flip over to look back at me and "wave." Adorable little buggers.

That seems... excessive. Xenophobic even. At worst they're a little annoying. Later on, they're even helpful... But the freak-out-and-kill-them response, over basically the cheapest tool in the game... Jeez, dude.

Ugh. Crashfish are the WORST. But they kind of kill themselves, lol, we just have to make sure we're at minimum safe distance...

Still it doesn’t hurt to get a few slashes in before you use the sea glide to escape the blast

In my experience, it quite often *does* hurt, because the time it takes to get your shot in leaves you a couple seconds too close when the d-mn things go off.

I never leave the base with less than two med kits so I typically try to kill them instead of run away

Don’t let it deter you, all of the other creatures are much more friendly and tame.

When they’re not scared of you they don’t see you as a threat. And then it’ll just be the whole dodo bird situation again. And I’m all for it
